Re: Koei Tecmo Releases New Switch 2 Demo For Wild Hearts S

Cipher36

This is where key cards are going to hurt Nintendo in the worst way. Myself and I'm sure many others don't want to fill up valuable storage space with large games. Sure this one isn't that big, but it's showing where we are going. I'd much rather have 20 small indie games than one large game. Hence, I won't be buying it if it's a key card.

Re: Feature: Nintendo Life eShop Selects (June 2025)

Cipher36

So then Fantasy Life i, not only did I enjoy the 3DS game, I bought my Switch 2 with a physical copy of FLi knowing I would enjoy it. Turns out I did, so I quickly purchased another Switch 2 and another physical copy of FLi for my wife to play it with me. Yeah I enjoy it.

Re: Arcade Archives Is Bringing 'Air Combat 22' To Switch 2

Cipher36

I love all these old retro games, but if I'm being honest $15.00 for a digital download is already asking a lot. Couple that with it being an old retro port and I'm thinking it's a bit much. When they are selling these at $7.00 it seems much more feasible, I might even go to $10 if the games right.

Re: Gex Trilogy Is Now Playable On Switch 2 As Compatibility Update Goes Live

Cipher36

I know everyone is looking forward to Gex 2 and 3, but being a Panasonic 3DO owner, I used to love playing Gex the original. I'm sure it will bring back some good memories. With that said, how long before Amazon gets LRG games? I ask because I'm just now realizing everything I ever special order ends up on Amazon, so I'm holding off on the pre-order. Pre-Ordered NG Ragebound because I saw the article here, couple of days later I see the US release is now up and I can't cancel my PO.

Re: Best MicroSD Express Cards For Nintendo Switch 2

Cipher36

@Baker1000 Not that it will make you feel better about your purchase, but I picked up an extra 1TB card a while back expecting I would use it for my Switch 2. Could have been using it all this time in Steamdeck or Switch OLED... oh well, live and learn I guess.

Re: Publishers Are "Thanking" Nintendo For Game-Key Cards On Switch 2

Cipher36

Being a collector, I can honestly say I'm going to try and purchase zero key-cards this generation. Will I achieve this, probably not, but it's my goal. On the switch 1 I purchased physical copies even if the game was better played elsewhere. This generation, if it's on a key-card I'll either get it on xbox, PS or buy it cheap on steam.

Re: 27 Upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 Games We're Excited For In 2025

Cipher36

@FormerGameAddict
100% this. My Switch 2 will be used for:
1. making my current switch 1 library better
2. the few franchises I have to have... ie. FE, MH, Xenoblade
3. anything else that's really cheap but really good

It seems the switch 1 will be my last generation of mass collecting based on what I've seen of the switch 2 so far.

Re: 27 Upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 Games We're Excited For In 2025

Cipher36

@speed_loafer Yes, I'm one of them. I love DK, I don't think this game looks very good. It looks like a lot of flying particles and cheap throw away levels made to just smash smash smash and then smash some more.... Just watching someone else play it, I got tired of seeing the 6,oooth piece of gold being picked up. Honestly, I was really looking forward to it, but after seeing it I was less than impressed. Ahh well, I'm sure it has its audience.

Re: Nintendo Switch 2 Hardware Chip Was Potentially Finalised As Early As 2021

Cipher36

@killercereal I guess so, but I find that those people are a decent representation of the overall attitude that people either have now or will once it sinks in or the experience it first hand. Personally I know a total of 4 people including myself who intended or were looking forward to the Switch 2's release. Of those 4 people, I'm the only one still intending to buy one at release.

Re: 27 Upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 Games We're Excited For In 2025

Cipher36

@Duncanballs I hear you, I've gone past that point myself. I think it's because after so long people were hoping Nintendo really wowed them. With all the missteps and changes I think they done a lot of damage toward the good will they built up in the Switch 1's lifetime. To me it's just what it is, but I also have to be honest and say that I'm far from impressed with what they have done.

Re: 27 Upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 Games We're Excited For In 2025

Cipher36

I love DK, but the more I see the game I can't help but see a lot of ugly cheap looking levels with particles flying everywhere to cover that fact up. Maybe it's just me, but once you really note that most of the game is just stuff flying at you or explosions of particles, it just becomes much less appealing.

Re: 27 Upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 Games We're Excited For In 2025

Cipher36

Looking at this list, I'm much less excited than I was. I'm getting a Switch 2 basically for whatever it can do to make my switch 1 games feel like they finally got the switch pro. I'm sure over the course of the 2's lifetime there will be a handful of games, but I'm pretty sure the Switch 1 is the end of my game collections.

Re: SNK Announces ACA NEOGEO Selection Vol. 5 And Vol. 6 For Switch

Cipher36

I guess I'm in the vast minority here, but I love these collections. While I own I think 8 systems for NEOGEO games, and about 20 digital on Switch. I still want this collection as a whole as it's NEOGEO/Switch which is the perfect modern day combination to me. Already have the first 4 and will be buying them until they stop putting them out.

Re: Talking Point: Will You Be Buying Any Game-Key Card Switch 2 Games?

Cipher36

After collecting roughly 400 switch games, I'm going into the next generation with these rules:
1. Only buy physical: if it's $60 or under, or a top tier game I plan to get at least 40 to 50 hours out of.
2. Only buy Key Card if it's one of a handful of games, and it's only available on key card, and it's $60 or under
3. Limit physical/KC game purchases to 20 or less games for the switch 2 generation.
4. Digital games if they are $20 or less. Prefer $10 or less as I did in the switch 1 generation.

Honestly, this is the criteria I'm going to try and hold myself to so that I can enjoy the next gen while not rewarding Nintendo too much for their greed.

Re: Uh Oh, It Looks Like Select Switch 2 Games Won't Support Cloud Saves

Cipher36

At one time my interest was as high as you could go, and I planned to buy two at launch with no questions asked. Now I'm actually considering not buying one at all and having the switch be possibly my last Nintendo console. Nintendo is gonna Nintendo, as time goes by it seems like they just might be doing it without me. Honestly, this has been a colossal failure of a launch so far.

Re: Opinion: A Few Too Many Questions & Unwelcome Surprises Are Taking The Shine Off The Switch 2 Reveal

Cipher36

Being someone I would consider on the higher end of collectors, roughly 400 games and seven switches. Yes the magic has seemed to fade due to recent events. I’m pretty sure that at this point all that has happened has made me decide that while I’m still most likely to buy a switch two, I’m no longer going to be a collector this generation and will instead use the switch two for whatever non paid enhancements it will give to my current library plus the occasional game. Number one, I’m a physical collector because it’s my hobby to collect, and if Nintendo is going to distance themselves away from true physical collections that’s not good for me. number two it does seem that greed is sneaking in even more for Nintendo and this seems like as good time to start weening myself off the collectors mentality. Nintendos going to do what they feel is right for them, and I of course will do the same for me. I waited for years as has a lot of people to finally get the next switch, it’s kinda sad that it went down like it has.
