Due to the train wreck of no real games on cart, full price for old games and all of the other issues, I'll be waiting until this is sub $20.00 digital before I jump in. With that said, I'm sure that means they have a while to get the bugs fixed that should have been done before launch.

Found the whole thing rather boring. Being a long time game player, back when all games didn't need to run at the speed of light or having strobing light effects for every action taken in the game, I just felt like what I saw was a lot of flashy graphics to hold the players attention. To me, it just makes a mess out of a screen when looking at it. Not that "I can't" keep up with the visuals, it's that I don't think they add to a game as much as the younger crowd does, and often cheapen or lesson the experience. I'm hoping in another 10 years we'll get back to just solid games. There are of course many, but not enough in today's market.

I know you can order it from Play-Asia now, but I'm holding out for a physical US release. By that time it should have a lot of the patches included I would expect.

@CANOEberry "Ken Kutaragi telling gamers to work harder for a PS3" - Being someone who has played and collected since Pong, this is the reason I skipped the PS3 until just recently when I got one for free. At the time I just couldn't believe the arrogance of that guy, I remember listening to him and had an immediate "nope"..... Thanks for that blast from the past.

I have a simple rule for digital / download code (physical games). I pay no more than $20.00 for a new release of a new game and no more than $10.00 for a re-release of an old game. I figure if I don't own it by it being digital, I'll pay up to the amount above for what it's worth to rent for a while. Keeps it easy.

As I've been saying for over 20 years now, the all digital future is going to suck.

One of my favorite games on PC. Would love a physical edition on switch and really don't want to fall for the buy it twice on the same system thing Nintendo has going on. I'm gonna try to hold out for a physical release, but if it hits the right price on sale, I just don't know if I'm strong enough to not buy digital.

@contractcooker While I understand what you're saying. I completely disagree. Absolutely there is an abundance of choice in both games and means of access, that doesn't mean that the negatives of modern gaming should be ignored or dismissed. Bottom line is that most gaming companies have taken advantage of the system and it allows them to do things like sell you empty boxes, or release now patch later. Both of which I find unacceptable. I stand by my statement that modern gaming kinda sucks. It really should be so much better than it is.

Agreed, there is no excuse for needing patches on old games that are way under the power of the systems they are getting ported to. What the hell is the point of a physical release if you need to download multiple patches to fix it. The state of gaming truly sucks.

Just like Ghost Trick, I have this game on the DS and hate that I'm going to end up buying them again. Call it weakness, but I'm a sucker for good games.

I don't know, I own the board game with expansion, Jaws of the lion and Frosthaven. This game plays perfectly fine to me and I'm 100% happy with my purchase. Is it easy, no not really. Slow, yes it is, but then again it suits the game and seriousness of getting it right the first time.

@RupeeClock Agreed, it seems like they took a page out of Hasbro / WoTC book with the D&D OGL debacle. Didn't work for them either and ended up actually back firing quit a bit.

Honestly about reaching my limit for half baked game releases.

If they can give me physical game on cart with no downloads, I'll but it for a fourth time.

I miss the days when games came pretty much complete without need for updates. It's no wonder that retro gaming has been more and more where I spend my free time.

Actually just happened to me within the last week. I ordered a copy of Afterimage and it came sans cart. Knowing whether it has a cart in it before you open it is easy as all you have to do is hold it up to a light and look through the end of the case. As a matter of fact I've gotten so used to scams and broken items I inspect and often video record myself opening new items just in case there's an issue. If not, delete the recording easy enough. In the case of Afterimage I took all kinds of pictures and attempted to post the review but Amazon never posted it. Either way I sent it back unopened for another copy. People suck.

This just went from a day one purchase to I'll wait for a sale of $9.99 or less. I have to imagine they know there are a lot of people that like to own and not rent their games. It's already bad enough we live in the time of day one patches and then monthly patches thereafter. What's the point in buying a physical copy of something like this when all you get is the requirement you have to put the cart in to play what's on your switch already. It is what it is, but that's just disappointing.

I would have picked it up day one for the Game Gear games. Seeing's as how i'm only renting them though, I'll wait for a nice sale. Oh well plenty of other things to spend the money on.

I try not to reward theft. I realize the industry is full of it, it's why I try to stick with the real thing good or bad.

For whatever reason, as I'm looking at these offerings at those prices... yawnnn... I'm underwhelmed.

@CharlieGirl Same, I have it on so many systems as it is that getting it on Switch was only because I was enojoying collecting one master collection of retro games. If it's not all actually on the cart then I might as well go back to something like playing Sonic on the DS or Genesis.

Is something I dread seeing as it's becoming all to common for games to launch and get a day one or near day one patch. I'm starting to think this is intentional so that when they close down the servers for updates i'm stuck with a dud physical copy.

@Tharsman I have had several games just show up out of the blue with no notification. The most recent being Kotor 2 and NeoGeo Pocket Color Selection 2. Not sure what the difference would be, but I don't receive notifications more often than I do.

Pre-Ordered on Amazon, not even sure they have a pre-order bonus or not. I think I looked and they didn't, but honestly I'm buying it for the game not more junk to sit around my office. Not that it's not neat for about 5 minutes, but after that I find it just gets filtered into a drawer somewhere.

So am I missing something or is this marketing at its finest. When you look that the standard collection it list all 7 DLC’s for $40. Then the collection classic is the game, two cases and 7 DLC’s for $74.00. So…. Was this done in to make it look like you get way more in the classic collection? Why are we not listing the game in the standard collection… oh wait.. then I would realize I’m paying almost $35.00 for two extra boxes. Looking back, both the two more expensive list the “Physical Edition” of the game, So I guess I’m led to believe the that $40.00 has no game, just some DLC.

I was aiming to give it a 9, but lowered to an 8 for a few reasons. First as i'm someone who has very much loved this series and solved both 1&2 on the GBA i'm a bit biased i'm sure. But anyway,
1. $60 for basically a simple reskin of two GBA games is a bit much. Should have been $40.00
2. Simple game like this should be locked at 60 FPS. Also considering they have had forever to do this due to it being delayed for so long
3. Missed opportunity to give us a few extras to reviatlize our interest in what could be coming down the pipe at a later date. Just doing to straight port with some graphics updates isn't much
4. while i'm not sure it "bothers" me, the gameboard table design isn't a plus in any way. Maybe a small negative as it's just weird.

With all that said, I love Advance Wars so i'm sure it's going to get plenty of play from me.

Wasn't a game I ever got into, and not a single review yet. Not sure if a pick up of this is worth the $60.00 or wait and hope to get it cheaper later on?

Even though I have solved them both on the GBA, still going to pick this up. Two of the games that have held my attention the most for a long time.

I saw it up for pre-order and had my chance. Passed as I already have the lite, regular and Oled switch versions. Just don't see the need for another especially because I honestly don't think it looks that good.

Gonna be honest, that's the worst selection of on sale games I think i've ever seen.

I count three, but I guess it's really five. two I got from my wife and son, promptly traded them in. For my three, I still have them all

The two I got rid of were just normal red and uh.... I can't even remember the other one, I just know I had it.

I can barely keep my eyes open looking at that "deal"...

Honestly I find the rewards worthless. So worthless I have stopped looking at them and just let my points expire. Either they are something I can make for myself in 10 minutes or something worth 3.00 with a 5.00 shipping fee.
