Re: Alien: Isolation - The Collection Physical Edition Announced For Nintendo Switch

Cipher36

So am I missing something or is this marketing at its finest. When you look that the standard collection it list all 7 DLC’s for $40. Then the collection classic is the game, two cases and 7 DLC’s for $74.00. So…. Was this done in to make it look like you get way more in the classic collection? Why are we not listing the game in the standard collection… oh wait.. then I would realize I’m paying almost $35.00 for two extra boxes. Looking back, both the two more expensive list the “Physical Edition” of the game, So I guess I’m led to believe the that $40.00 has no game, just some DLC.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp?

Cipher36

I was aiming to give it a 9, but lowered to an 8 for a few reasons. First as i'm someone who has very much loved this series and solved both 1&2 on the GBA i'm a bit biased i'm sure. But anyway,
1. $60 for basically a simple reskin of two GBA games is a bit much. Should have been $40.00
2. Simple game like this should be locked at 60 FPS. Also considering they have had forever to do this due to it being delayed for so long
3. Missed opportunity to give us a few extras to reviatlize our interest in what could be coming down the pipe at a later date. Just doing to straight port with some graphics updates isn't much
4. while i'm not sure it "bothers" me, the gameboard table design isn't a plus in any way. Maybe a small negative as it's just weird.

With all that said, I love Advance Wars so i'm sure it's going to get plenty of play from me.

Re: Some Advance Wars Physical Owners Are Having Trouble Redeeming Gold Points

Cipher36

I have a list of games i've had problems with, all were tried within a month tops of the day they were released.
TMNT Shredders Revenge
Into The Breach
Crosscode
Eastward
Subnautica -says it can't collect for the region i'm in. Although it's 100% a cart bought here in the US at a major retailer.

I have a list here running on this issue. I guess I'll be adding Advance Wars to it later today.

Re: Poll: How Many 3DS Consoles Have You Owned?

Cipher36

I count three, but I guess it's really five. two I got from my wife and son, promptly traded them in. For my three, I still have them all
1. original black one
2. Year of Luigi XL
3. New 3ds XL Monster Hunter 4 limited edition
The two I got rid of were just normal red and uh.... I can't even remember the other one, I just know I had it.

Re: SNK's Neo Geo Pocket Color Selection Vol.2 Coming To Switch Next Week

Cipher36

@GetterImpact
I know, that's what I was saying. I bought a lot of the games that ended up turning into volume one, and then bought the physical release. I got one or two of the ones that will end up on the second volume and told myself to not buy anymore digitally as I know when I see it physical I'll pick it up. Hence, physical or it didn't happen. I have a bad tendancy of buying them digitally and then physically on most things. Companies know the double dip happen so they hold off on physical releases.

Re: Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack Release Date And Pricing Revealed

Cipher36

@westman98 I can agree with that, I would never think they would “double” the price. But increase it, sure why not. Maybe they will offer the GBA titles and give it a price bump to make them closer. That way they can say “hey look, we gave you GBA and GBA color for only a $10 price increase… we are awesome” But then people would start to look and go hmmm for only a little more I can get the whole pkg. Either way, I have no horse in this race so I’ll just sit back and watch the show.

Re: Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack Release Date And Pricing Revealed

Cipher36

@Mattock1987 I don't think that's the case here though, trust me when I say money is not the problem. I personally have an illness where I love to buy stuff way more than I should. Having said that I can at least justify most purchases in my mind as the value compared to the market offerings is there. This honestly is not. Again it has nothing to do with people being cheap, it has to do with Nintendo taking a dump in a box and selling it for top price saying "we can do this" we're Nintendo. My two cents at least.

Re: Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack Release Date And Pricing Revealed

Take out the online play and cloud back-ups from the base plan.
Family plan with no online play or no back-ups just nes and snes games at $35.00 yearly.. do you think people would pay for that? I'm betting the number that would, would shrink drastically.
Expansion for Genesis and N64 for $45 yearly and we are supposed to pay for that. My point is, the base plan gives you actual things people need/want beyond some old emulated games, and people even thought that was pushing it based on the quality of the service.

Re: Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack Release Date And Pricing Revealed

Cipher36

@UmbreonsPapa You hit the nail on the head... it's not about the games it's about the value they are offering. I do own all kinds of systems with these games, and yes I can play them other ways than NSO. Heck there are a lot of games I probably have at least 5 options to legally play them on. So the issue, if Nintendo offered a service or option that was priced consumer friendly or fair there would be no complaints. I'd gladly pick it up and own a 6th way to play the games they offer, but... their pricing for what they are offering is way out of wack with their previous offerings as well as compared to what the competition is charging for their services/offerings. I am a Nintendo fan, just like I like games on my Xbox and my PlayStation but at some point you have to look at what each offers and the value of it. This is where Nintendo has lost it's mind. The NSO service sucks and is outdated compared to the competition and as of now they have priced themselves squarely shoulder to shoulder with MS and Sony. They simply need to do better and people are voicing that.

Re: Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack Release Date And Pricing Revealed

Cipher36

Personally I already have most of the games in many other formats, Ie.. original consoles, mini's, other collections on other systems... so my $35.00 family plan was mostly for the internet gaming and back-ups for the family ( peer to peer for the win :/ ). I wonder how many other people are in the same boat and will be passing. I always considered it like $35.00 yearly = $20.00 for the online and $7.50 for each console. Adding $45 a year for two additional consoles ($22.50 each) seems a bit off. Now as was stated, if Nintendo had a good track record of releasing games (not a trickle every so often)... oh heck, it would still be too much.

Re: Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack Release Date And Pricing Revealed

@Mauzuri Which would beg the question, then why go with the Genesis? Considering they have ample amounts of their own consoles they could use, it seems dumb to add Sega and make your customers upset. If this is the case I'd say, ummm Sega, sorry but no. We'll just let people buy the Genesis collection and all the Sega Ages games already on our console.
