Part of me is happy seeing that new stuff is coming out and knowing my favorite company is doing well, but honestly the switches lifespan has had TOO many games for me. I feel like I've spent too much on games yet there's still so many major releases I haven't been able to get. Xenoblade DE, Lets go PnE, DKC Tropical Freeze, Octo Expansion, NSMB U Deluxe, Torna, and Luigi's Mansion are all games I'd love to get but it's just too much with what I already have.
I got "my character" with steve so i'm just happy for new content. I don't really mind the fortnite rumors, but I do think Doomguy or master chief deserve to be in first as they kinda revolutionized the shooter genre
@JasmineDragon Seriously it gets on my nerves how rude and annoying people get about stuff like this, and your point about the people complaining literally being fans of games made for kids is a great point. It’s like smash bros fans whining any time a character is announced that wasn’t made before the year 2000. Gatekeeping at its worst
I'd like it if it had some sort of functionality beyond being almost the same as the NSO page on the shop, but no, other than the NES and SNES list it's exactly the same. The widget boils down to a random ad you have pasted on your home screen and can't even get rid of once you buy NSO. I don't hate it or anything, I just really wish it had some more meaning to it.
Listen, Nintendo does some crappy stuff and pisses people off at times, I wont deny that, but some of these people are overreacting way too hard. I saw a post online of someone getting a #freemelee tattoo, like, that's absolutely ridiculous.
@Munchlax I'd argue they took more steps back than forward, when you take into account the lack of exploration, weak online experience, and a few other key factors.
Not a terrible game, just not as good
I said they were as disappointing as I expected. They are by no means bad games, and they do give me hope for the future, but by pokemon standards, they are a bit weak imo
Things like these always make me feel so conflicted. On one hand, you shouldn't knock off or steal someone's property, yet for many it's the only way they CAN get it.
I read an article a while ago (I want to say it was written by a man who grew up in a poorer family in Russia but I'm not sure) where someone talked about how growing up, hacking, emulating, bootlegs, etc were their only way to enjoy and learn of the existence of Nintendo properties.
@RPGamer Same. My art looks vastly different but much of my learning how to draw people was done trying to draw characters designed by Ken Sugimori and James Turner
Interesting how the character's clothing style seems to represent the first 3 gens more, whearas the faces and body structures seem to resemble the style used for trainers from XY onward. Seeing this now, in retrospect, I wonder if the art streamlining through the past three gens has been a result of Turner's transition from artist to taking the lead position.
I dont know what to choose! BOTW is like a hybrid between the two, while LTTP and MM/WW are fantastic examples of how to perfect their respective genres.
I'd probably choose 3d if I HAD to choose one, but it's close
As much as I think this is a bummer as a lot of people used to wait for the second game instead of the first, which ended up being a better deal, I am curious to see how this sells
@Grumblevolcano Lol the new dlc as the third version policy is great for those who buy every annual pokemon game, while it sucks for the people who used to wait after each release for the sequel game
Why is Metroid Prime 4's name temporary. Has a mainline MP game ever had a subtitle?
Also holy crap. Considering there is likely some sort of pokemon title and possibly a new Mario too, next year is gonna be huge. That is if Metroid, zelda, and Bayonetta all release, which honestly metroid is looking to be more 2022 or 23 at this point considering how many resets and hiring issues they've had
Pokemon Platinum and Minecraft. A mix of relaxed gameplay, pleasant music, exploration, strategy, and heavy childhood nostalgia makes both games something special for me
Speculation here but the most absences seem to be sinnoh and johto pokemon, so could that be seen as possible evidence for lets go johto and DP remakes? Part of me kinda hopes they wait for gen 9 to remake sinnoh tho
This game is gonna be really fun based off of demo gameplay but the whole time travel thing is a huge bummer. I was really hoping this was canon with a sad ending that leads into BOTW but it doesn't seem like that's the case any more
@The-Chosen-one I feel that. I get that games need to have multiplayer considered in the design to be good, but there is such a huge multitude of franchises i wish had couch co op, not to mention how frustrating it is that everything seems to be online with no local play
@PBandSmelly It's by no means a bad game, in fact it's a freaking fantastic game, I just think some people miss the meatier feeling of well developed quests over a heck-ton of moons that you can get by just ground pounding a spot or planting a seed
Very mixed feelings on Odyssey. Looks fantastic, the variety between kingdoms is great, when there's platforming, it's excellent, the captures are fun, etc etc. I cant seem to feel like something is missing though. Maybe it's the areas that don't involve platforming, maybe it's the short length, idk. I think it might be the fact that instead of quality, laid out quests, there are a lot of moons that are very very simple to find, however that is part of the game's charm at the same time
@Retro_Player_77 Poor Hamster. Sure old arcade games are cool but virtual console is better. I'd rather play gameboy or n64 games than the arcade stuff. Seems like Nintendo is underusing them
@Retro_Player_77 That's fair. I think the ideal would be if there was virtual console and switch online with NSO getting games whenever they release on virtual console. Off topic but at this point Nintendo seriously should just add a voice chat to the system for switch online subs. make it friends only if you want things to be safe, but no one wants to use a phone app when they could just... call their friends
Time limit having the same cutoff as Mario makes me think that there's either going to be a new virtual console line, or there will be a big change to switch online next year

@BanjoPickles Honestly, retiring the directs are fine. These random trailer drops are cool, although I will miss the hype cycle directs created.
