Re: Soapbox: When Is The Next 'Big' Nintendo Direct? Oh, Does It Really Matter Anymore?

Christofu

Part of me is happy seeing that new stuff is coming out and knowing my favorite company is doing well, but honestly the switches lifespan has had TOO many games for me. I feel like I've spent too much on games yet there's still so many major releases I haven't been able to get. Xenoblade DE, Lets go PnE, DKC Tropical Freeze, Octo Expansion, NSMB U Deluxe, Torna, and Luigi's Mansion are all games I'd love to get but it's just too much with what I already have.

...Now if Nintendo actually discounted games...

Re: Random: The NSO Icon On The Switch Home Menu Is Driving Some Users Crazy

Christofu

I'd like it if it had some sort of functionality beyond being almost the same as the NSO page on the shop, but no, other than the NES and SNES list it's exactly the same. The widget boils down to a random ad you have pasted on your home screen and can't even get rid of once you buy NSO. I don't hate it or anything, I just really wish it had some more meaning to it.

Re: Chinese Firm Which Ripped Off The NES With Jackie Chan's Help Has Filed For Bankruptcy

Things like these always make me feel so conflicted. On one hand, you shouldn't knock off or steal someone's property, yet for many it's the only way they CAN get it.

I read an article a while ago (I want to say it was written by a man who grew up in a poorer family in Russia but I'm not sure) where someone talked about how growing up, hacking, emulating, bootlegs, etc were their only way to enjoy and learn of the existence of Nintendo properties.

Re: Pokémon Designer James Turner Shares Original Pokémon Battle Revolution Art

Interesting how the character's clothing style seems to represent the first 3 gens more, whearas the faces and body structures seem to resemble the style used for trainers from XY onward. Seeing this now, in retrospect, I wonder if the art streamlining through the past three gens has been a result of Turner's transition from artist to taking the lead position.

Re: Nintendo Reconfirms Release Windows For Major Switch Games, With Plenty Being 'TBA'

Why is Metroid Prime 4's name temporary. Has a mainline MP game ever had a subtitle?

Also holy crap. Considering there is likely some sort of pokemon title and possibly a new Mario too, next year is gonna be huge. That is if Metroid, zelda, and Bayonetta all release, which honestly metroid is looking to be more 2022 or 23 at this point considering how many resets and hiring issues they've had

Re: It's Been Three Years Since We First Embarked On A Super Mario Odyssey

Christofu

Very mixed feelings on Odyssey. Looks fantastic, the variety between kingdoms is great, when there's platforming, it's excellent, the captures are fun, etc etc. I cant seem to feel like something is missing though. Maybe it's the areas that don't involve platforming, maybe it's the short length, idk. I think it might be the fact that instead of quality, laid out quests, there are a lot of moons that are very very simple to find, however that is part of the game's charm at the same time

Re: The Original Fire Emblem Is Coming To The West For The First Time Ever On Switch

Christofu

@Retro_Player_77 That's fair. I think the ideal would be if there was virtual console and switch online with NSO getting games whenever they release on virtual console. Off topic but at this point Nintendo seriously should just add a voice chat to the system for switch online subs. make it friends only if you want things to be safe, but no one wants to use a phone app when they could just... call their friends
