Re: Early Build Of Pokémon Sword Allegedly Leaked Online

@Menardi yeah gamefreak has really fallen from grace since Iwata's passing on. I think they had plenty of ambition and passion before but without his help they just cant seem to achieve what they want and they don't want to admit it

Also that really sucks that Turner is doing that. Hurt enough seeing Sugimori wasn't leading art anymore.

Re: Early Build Of Pokémon Sword Allegedly Leaked Online

@Menardi the C word tweet reminds me of the ROVIO youtube account liking a comment saying "these bring back 2012 people are annoying." For context, almost every angrybirds game was taken off the app store and people have been saying bring back 2012 as their slogan kinda like "bringbacknationaldex"

Re: Early Build Of Pokémon Sword Allegedly Leaked Online

OOhhhhh... hmmm. I wonder if this is connected to the other leaks. they've been getting more frequent and skipped gens 5 and 7 and now we're here. Pokemon has always been notorious for leaks but this makes me wonder if the person responsible has something against gamefreak

Re: Random: New Smash Bros. Mod Allows You To Download And Install Skins Directly From Minecraft

@Cosats Bro honestly what...
1) This site isn't in any way an "official" Nintendo site. It is essentially a fan site. The closest they get to official is reviewing games on Nintendo hardware.
2) If Nintendo really wants something gone, their lawyers will handle it. We've seen it countless times before. In a lot of cases, they take down things that aren't really causing any problems however it is their brand so it's respectable.
3). Honestly why are you so upset about this? I love Nintendo, I think it's a great company but honestly do you think they need you reporting an article about a modding community I'm sure they are very aware of and quite possibly could be considering dealing with at this moment. The richest company in Japan I am very sure has plenty of great, great lawyers. Honestly you gotta be out of your mind to think that Nintendo needs a random dude tattling on someone for publishing an article about a mod on a fan site.

I really don't want to sound like a jerk but c'mon, if you really care at least target pirates or hackers instead of someone who wrote an article about a mod a different person made

Re: Nintendo Lawyers Hit Fan-Made Zelda Game With Fatal Copyright Claim

Christofu

@Zeldafan79 you know how Undertale's creator got his start? Making Earthbound ROM hacks. Making fan games does not show a lack of creativity, If anything it is a good exercise to learn and build your skill. Sometimes it helps to use the world and rules someone else set in order to grow your own capabilities. Yes, Nintendo can take down fan games, they have complete power over their properties, however I think calling fan game makers uncreative is unfair. Even if Nintendo can take down both, I think there's definitely a big difference between a fan game, and say, that one tik tok girl that was selling pokemon shirts

@Abeedo Super Mario 3d all stars has been really good to me. I ignored the complaints and the obvious weak emulation and just have been enjoying the games, however after a certain bit of news reached me, I cant help but feel mildly disappointed. Apparently, upon datamining the game, people found that the file where the "updated" textures for sunshine were stored is literally labeled "Lazy Texture Replace." The fact the devs labeled their own work they knew was going to be published that way is kinda upsetting

Re: Minecraft's Steve Was Codenamed "Pickel" During Smash Bros. Fighter Development

Christofu

@Snatcher Hoping to be a steve main. Maining a DI character with terry, a glass cannon with mewtwo, and a jack-of-all trades with really unique mechanics in the form of steve might be too much to balance though. If I can consistently master all three that would be great but its very different, for example I fond myself trying to jab facing away from my opponent as steve because terry auto faces opponents

Re: Popular Twitch And TikTok Star Pokeprincxss Has Been Sued By Nintendo

Christofu

@Travisemo007 Don't take this as fact, I'm just a teen so I've got a lot to learn, and my brain won't even be finished developing for like another nine years, but I believe the reason Pokemon and Poke restaurants can exist with each other is due to two reasons being that one, they are in different markets, and two, imagery and things associated with the respective companies do not overlap. Although the TikTok star technically was in different markets, being a pornstar/influencer, she was selling merch that directly imitated designs associated with pokemon, giving enough validity to her name being an infringement. Honestly, either side you swing to on this, I think everyone can agree Nintendo has more evidence on their side in this situation than Monster energy has had in their lawsuits combined.

Re: Review: FIFA 21 - EA Insults Switch Owners Yet Again With This Half-Baked Effort

Christofu

Normally I don't particularly enjoy a lot of IGN's stuff or find them too reliable for reviews, but their review for FIFA 21 Legacy edition cracked me up and I don't doubt it at all. In one section they said "this is what my thoughts were on last years game," showed a paragraph, then said "these are my thoughts on this year's," and copy and pasted the same paragraph with some slight changes like the dates. funny stuff man, funny stuff

Re: Video: Here's A Look At All 24 Track Themes Available In Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit

@CDSilb i'm sure it could run on some harder carpets but I would advise against it. From my experiences with RC cars and toy helicopters, even on carpet they can move/land on, over time the threads, hairs, etc begin to spool around the axle/propeller, slowing the vehicle down and potentially breaking them. Yes, you can regularly clean them but it can get very frustrating and cause long term damage

Re: Video: Here's A Look At All 24 Track Themes Available In Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit

This reminds me of the LABO where I think they're trying to justify the price using the standard game card PLUS the peripheral. Like, 60 dollar Nintendo game plus $10 of cardboard, or $60 game plus $40 RC car. This just doesn't work though. I know Nintendo has a very set standard price for all of their stuff, and normally I'm willing to pay that price because I believe that games like BOTW, Mario Odyssey, etc are some of the most quality experiences out there, but for things like the LABO and this, the "games" themselves are more tech demos or short experiences and less "games." It's the same thing as 1-2 switch in a way, where although not necessarily bad, you can't tell me it deserves the same price tier as a genre defining game or a polished new Mario. Perhaps they should consider setting the price point for the "game" part of kits like these at $40, and then add the peripheral price, so the labo would be more 50 to 60 bucks, and this could be somewhere near 70 to 80. I feel like these would get much more praise than criticism if Nintendo would just acknowledge that they arent the same thing as a full AAA gaming experience

Re: Video: Here's Minecraft Steve Getting Added To The Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Mural

Christofu

@ReikoMortis That's fair. I mean, I love minecraft but i understand this dlc was made for a younger demographic, high schoolers such as myself having nostalgia, and young children getting the obsession with it that my generation once had. I feel as though most DLC so far has been either for Millenial/Gen Xers with things like banjo and terry, or for marketing/specific fanbases being hero, byleth, and min min, so this is the first DLC that has felt targeted at people like me I guess, although the other DLC has been amazing, heck it convinced me to try dragon quest and gain an interest in FF/KOF. Now that I've gotten Steve though, I hope they add more to appeal to Niches and older demographics, like Crash and Dante
