Not to hate on any of this but it sounds like they are reiterating what they already have to do, just using the "unity" aspect to spin things in a positive way. Not that it's the worst thing in the world (its still a good thing) just funny that its being treated as something special.
With all the smash related news as of late I wonder if this reveal will lead to a lot more negativity than it deserves. Fans should keep in mind that Sakurai and co have no say over what the law team does.
Would be nice if Nintendo announced the Age of Calamity DLC which is bound to happen eventually. Aside from that I'd be surprised if a certain naughty dog game ends up winning Game of the Year.
That's unfortunate. It'd be nice if Nintendo just helped point them in the right direction (which it seems they did) and threw in a few bucks themselves.
@Wilforce if they have access to the source code re-releasing the game is incredibly simple (look at the Mario 64 fan ports to literally everything). It's just a matter of how much resources they want to throw at the project and whether they can justify the cost.
I wonder if this makes for a profitable venture? Honestly the fact that a Kickstarter is being considered seems like a sign that things aren't going all that well.
"this year's tournament required "illegally copied versions" of Super Smash Bros. Melee"
Isn't it legal if you use your own dump? Unless the tournament itself was stating a specific version of the game (that could only be found online) needed to be used that line sounds a bit misleading.
I know it's not the ideal solution but they should make an effort to make future games capable of importing older levels. If that were to happen you could have a situation where a new game releases with over X million levels already playable.
To be honest most people likely got this game because it was advertised as a prequel of sorts for BotW. That being said it's been a blast playing it and I've come to actually like the characters both old and new.
So 17 U.S. Code § 1201 is regarding the distribution of technology or a service that allows you to circumvent copyright protection and 17 U.S.C. § 512(f) is regarding the act of essentially lies about the activity/service and its capabilities.
Posted mostly for my own benefit but it's interesting to see what specific laws were broken.
The only thing about this that I liked were how the monsters looked visually. Everything else looks to be the bland/generic experience that you'd expect from Hollywood.
@NGNYS Yes actually I do have experience with both original and fan projects across a variety of mediums. We're not protesting who owns the right to shut down a project, but simply stating that a fan-project is just a crutch for people who lack creativity is one of the most ignorant things you can say about the subject.
tbh as long as the game is 1080p/60fps or at the very least has a lot of technical improvements from the previous game I'll be content. I'm more interested in the content since we already know the game will look good.
Tbh I'd like to see some of the other wars in the Zelda series portrayed in a warriors game. You could even bundle a few together if there isn't enough content for their own individual games.
@AG_Awesome that and board the platforms are two modes I would have liked. They could even use the stage builder to allow people to create and upload their own stages.
@Bunkerneath I think templates in this instance refer to aesthetics and maybe combinations of specific placements. The layout is still probably "random".
A chance to play Skyward Sword in 1080p/60fps would be nice. If they fixed a few minor issues and made some QoL changes similar to the other HD ports it'd make for a great experience.
@Anti-Matter actually that's wrong, a lot of things aren't replaced but added. It's totally possible to add new content without impacting any of the existing stuff in the game.
They've done a lot of good work already so simply making it an original experience is the best way forwards. Call it a spiritual successor or something and you're good to go.
@HappyMaskedGuy Nobody should be harassed or bullied online but the nature of the Internet makes it hard to control that sort of thing.
A big issue is that many start to consider any form of criticism to be harassment which probably isn't represented in this game but is an underlying issue in the "culture" we have today.
As someone that's not a fan of the previous two entries there's not much to gauge from this review other than the idea that it has a similar aesthetic/charm to the more "modern" Paper Mario games.
A demo would be nice, though I suppose I'll wait to hear from more sources before deciding on an immediate purchase as opposed to a delayed one.
@YaseenSaeed honestly when you look at the Smash Scene with a more scrutinising gaze its surprising that this wasn't outed sooner. From the general gaming culture to parties, living areas, etc. Minors, Adults and Alcohol were too frequently put in the same place. The only good to come of this is that now we can expect change for the better.
@JamesJose7 I've never heard of GFuel, but assuming they operate like every other major company and are just partnering with Sega I can see why the quality would be as you say it is.
The last peach thing I recall tasting is sake so I can't say for sure if I'd like it haha!
@Carck that's not always guaranteed, sometimes these promotional things end up tasting horrible. If it were comparable ( in terms of quality) to normal brands it wouldn't be a one-off thing imo.

That's unfortunate. It'd be nice if Nintendo just helped point them in the right direction (which it seems they did) and threw in a few bucks themselves.

Re: Nintendo Cancels Splatoon 2 NA Open Livestream, "Free Melee" Believed To Have Played A Part
@Xiovanni If you're just playing GC games you don't need the GC Bios. You can see that being explained here: https://wiki.dolphin-emu.org/index.php?title=GameCube_Main_Menu

Re: Nintendo's Huge Cyber Deals Sale Ends Tomorrow, Up To 75% Off Top Games (Europe)
I noticed but thanks for the heads up.
Re: PQube Is Releasing A Totally Free "DanMachi" Shmup On The Switch eShop
It looks like one of those old flash games, though as a free title I can't imagine it'll have much to it - still a nice gesture regardless.
Re: Nintendo Announces Huge Cyber Deals Sale For Europe, Up To 75% Off Top Games
Unlikely to happen but if Link's Awakening gets a discount of that magnitude I might be tempted to pick it up.

@Natsura lmao been a while since anyone called me that, I should probably retire this username-profile pic combo.

Re: Random: This Unofficial Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Mod Makes It Pad-Smashingly Hard
@zocker-hias maybe because mods and emulators themselves aren't illegal.
Re: Video: First 4 Figures Unboxes Its Stunning Varia Suit Samus Statue
@MS7000 Agreed, it looks amazing but that's way too expensive for a decorative piece that just collects dust.

Re: Nintendo Lawyers Hit Fan-Made Zelda Game With Fatal Copyright Claim
@Zeldafan79 that honestly sounds like a generic response from someone who knows nothing about modding.
Re: Nintendo Lawyers Hit Fan-Made Zelda Game With Fatal Copyright Claim
@Crono1973 to play the "fan game" you need the original (OOT) so I doubt anyone is going to have that as their first experience of Zelda.

Re: Rumour: Advert Suggests Smash Ultimate's Next DLC Fighter Could Be Revealed By Early October
It'd be pretty amusing if it was a Zelda character linked to Age of Calamity.
Re: Poll: Super Mario 3D All-Stars Is Out Today On Switch, Are You Getting It?
If each game was a tenth of the asking price I'd be interested, otherwise it's not worth it imo.
Re: Rumour: New Monster Hunter Game For Switch Supposedly 'Leaked' Ahead Of Nintendo Direct
Oh nice, been waiting for this.
Re: Saucy Shoot 'Em Up Waifu Uncovered Gets A Physical Release On Switch This November
@Cool_Squirtle I'm semi-serious. If I had a good concept and the time I'd make something and get it on the eShop.
Re: Saucy Shoot 'Em Up Waifu Uncovered Gets A Physical Release On Switch This November
I'm beginning to think anything can get on the eShop....time to start developing my own game.
Re: Super Mario 3D All-Stars Lands On Switch On 18th September, And It's A Limited-Time Thing
I'm not paying full price for this tbh, I'm more interested in what they have in store for 3D World.

@CaptainRPG I was mostly joking lol
Re: Poll: Paper Mario: The Origami King Is Out Today On Switch, Are You Getting It?
Given what reviews are saying I'll wait till a good sale (if that ever happens).
Re: Moderate A Streamer's Chat In Gamer Girl, Coming To Switch This September
@JR150 I can only imagine this'll appeal to people looking to become Twitch staff, perhaps they'll use this as training material haha.

If only all this energy could be used to actually make decent sonic games. Still.....I can't imagine it'd taste good.
