@ShankyMcSpanky it's fine to feel that way but for me BotW fails as a Zelda title. They tried something new and for me it didn't work. As a more general open world adventure game though it's fantastic. Mario Odyssey though is near perfect for me. Honestly it's sad that there was no DLC for it.
The Sequel to BotW though could be my favorite Zelda if they take the best aspects of BotW and actually throw in the old elements that people loved from the standard Zelda formula.
Unpopular opinion but BotW doesn't deserve best game despite the fact that it'll likely get it. Mario Odyssey, Three Houses and Mario Maker 2 though...10/10.
That's very cool. Would love to also see a Metroid Varia suit power up.
I also wouldn't mind paying for a new style. But I think the game needs more visual customisation, more music choices and maybe tweaking the multiplayer versus as to me that's the best part of the game but still under-developed.
@russell-marlow Honestly that's sad. I feel like Nintendo should embrace those aspects. You can be a bounty hunter without doing anything shady, heck her actions in some of the games already state her accepting contracts and doing things against her clients wishes (thinking of Fusion for the latter point). Being able to take on bounties (e.g hunt X species of bad aliens attacking a colony) for rewards like power-ups would be great for a future title.
If Nintendo getting bigger means more manpower working on games, revivals of old series' as well as more movies, animated shows I'm all for it. But Nintendo shouldn't strive to be like current Disney though, that'd probably end badly.
@cool_boy_mew I know, honestly the larger stuff like the removal of Pokémon, Moves, features, etc can be looked over if the rest was really polished but I suppose the way things were managed didn't allow for that to occur.
@redd214 to be fair, the amount of people that are actually livid in reality is likely a fraction of those that are publicly complaining. Everything just seems more dramatic/intense online.
Honestly other than a few cool designs this game is not what I'd hope for from a console Pokémon game. The wild area is a step in the right direction, but not nearly as bold or exciting enough to justify purchasing the game. I see nothing wrong with voicing said opinions when something looks bad.
@Fuz we don't plan on making the story "wild" (lame pun intended) but just that it makes sense with Zelda instead of Link. Stretch goals once the tools release will allow us to replace cutscenes with in-game scenes which will allow us to recreate practically everything but in a continuity that makes sense.
@Donutman I would personally hate if someone tried to make a "male Samus", but this is different. We're Zelda fans that like the character Zelda and want the opportunity to play as her, we also plan on changing the story to accommodate those changes.
@nhSnork I'm sure there are plenty of people who played something longer than 2 hours and gave their impression of the game. I've played BotW for at least 100 hours, certainly enjoyed playing parts of it but I can say with confidence that it's my least favorite in the franchise.
Of course the majority of reviews are probably not like this but I doubt it's mainly those that haven't had a "full" experience of said game.
@deucezulu22 I think you really dont get it. Being a portable device limits the potential of the Switch regardless of what you see inside it otherwise the current one we have would be beefier. But forget that, I wasn't even talking about the Switch, I'm talking about a proper home console which the Switch is not. Mobile hardware will still fall short of more grounded tech for the near future based on current trends. I simply want to see a future console invest in more powerful hardware not a Switch 2.
@deucezulu22 Did you even read what I said? The Switch as a portable device is clearly held back for realistic reasons, but I want to see a more powerful home console. I'm not interested in 4K or VR but having 1 or 2GB of more RAM on a non-portable device would go a long way for their games. Breath of the Wild (as an example) has blood moons for a technical reason (clearing up RAM) alongside the in-game explanation.
I just want them to invest in stronger home console hardware, then they can add whatever fancy gimmick they want. If their best games are too demanding to run at 1080p and a stable 30/60fps then they should look into better hardware. Portable devices have understandable limitations but that doesn't excuse home platforms.
@JimmySpades Perhaps, though as a person that finds titles like the latest Zelda disappointing, as well as not having an interest in Mario Kart (having owned the Wii U one) and Splatoon 2, I personally don't see a major advantage in the system. It does have Mario though and an eventual Fire Emblem & Metroid title...
Being able to customize your experience is nice. Hopefully the game remembers to have sliders for music volume, sound effects and speech. The mixing of audio in XCX was horrible.
@Kimyonaakuma honestly the beetle was the one elements I was expecting. Being able to survey your surroundings from above sounds about right for this game.
Honestly this game would have benefited from having a linear-ish story, some areas blocked off by said story and still keeping the world open. Replace about half the shrines with 5 to 8 actual dungeons (with unique bosses) and you'd have the best Zelda experience to date (even without items).
@Kalmaro Someone who will only buy the game on one console would want to compare them. I heard the online in the Switch version is not that great due to the lack of integrated features such as a party system.
@SanderEvers I know that since I have a copy of it, which is why I said he could call it something else and it'd be fine.
@Godsent Somehow I doubt they'd lose their IP. Please show me where this is the case. You can't bring copyright law into a case that has no copied content. Sander is somewhat correct calling it a trademark issue.
@SanderEvers The program communicates with an emulator, not the game. If he was selling a modification of the game you'd have a point but this is different. As far as I know, he could call it "EmuOnline" and there's nothing they'd be able to do about it.
Another example of Nintendo being utterly stupid. They just can't accept that fans are sometimes as talented or creative as their own team when handling Nintendo games. Even as this guy said, the actual code has nothing to do with the game. Thankfully I still have a copy of the program.
Was playing in the Death Mountain area, in a certain sequence of the game you can get an fps below 5. However this is really the only instance I've seen so far, otherwise casual stutters here and there.

Sounds like the devs have done all they can in this instance.

There's also other small tweaks like this mod that makes the trees in the Wild Zone not look as outdated as they appear: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vOuyFYnQIwo

Re: Fire Emblem: Three Houses Patch Revises Sensitive Dialogue
This comes across as a poor decision. The change tones down something that had the right degree of impact in my opinion.
Re: New Fire Emblem Heroes Update Allows You To Shrink The App's File Size By 75%
75%, that's quite the optimisation...

@Benjamin Light Novel, I'm the same Ainz in the Discord server if you're in that.

Re: Breath Of The Wild Mod Finally Lets Zelda Forge Her Own Legend
@Fuz We have some story elements we plan on using, nothing too outlandish but within the scope of what we think the Gerudo would act like.

@HFish I recall reading an article stating that the Wii U had a stronger first year line-up than the Switch currently has.
Re: Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Version 1.3.3 Lets You Repurchase Rare Items

Re: Don't Hold Your Breath For Monster Hunter: World On Switch
I mean all they need to do is localise the game they do have on Switch for western audiences and most Switch users will be contempt.

Re: Official Nintendo Switch Technical Specifications Have Been Shared
@Yorumi Most likely because after a single update that information becomes outdated and it'd be a pain to update everywhere the new specification.

Re: Eiji Aonuma Teases Alternate Ending for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
I wonder if this is like a True Ending because normally the Hero would do everything needed in these kind of narratives...
Re: Eiji Aonuma Confirms that Breath of the Wild Will Not Support a Japanese Dub Over English Subtitles
Kinda breaks immersion tbh. The characters are meant to be speaking Hylian so hearing a language other than your own can help enhance the experience.
