Bigger tournaments is always nice, they got filled up too quickly in S1
Annoying how they manage this stuff. All I ever do is play casual mode and have no idea what the Seasons stuff is, but I wanted to grab a couple of game's action last night and lo... I had to install a 1.7gb update (when my system is lacking space). Just wish they could separate it so it wasn't constantly needing updates just for casual play. I don't know how many updates have been forced since it released on Switch, but it's way more than any other game I have.
Unbelievable that there’s no mention of split screen being added back. For most Switch owners this is the ONLY part of this update we are really excited for. Been waiting MONTHS for this and it’s finally back, had so much playing again with my 6yo last night! It’s been too long.
they also removed the post-match save replay menu option in favour of a dedicated controller button, and added a play again button in the competitive post-match menu so you don't have to go through the competitive playlist screens to queue up when you want to continue playing in the same mode.
I just checked for updates on Switch games, and these games got one as well:
Dauntless
DC Universe Online
Dungeons & Dragons: Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms
Eternal - Card Game
Fantasy Strike
Fortnite
Onigiri
Paladins: Champions of the Realm
Pokémon Café Mix
Rocket League
The Elder Scrolls: Blades
The Four Kings: Casino and Slots
Vigor
Warframe
YouTube
Also, not long ago:
Brawlhalla
Circle of Sumo: Online Rumble!
Rogue Company
Smite: Battleground of the Gods
Warface
World of Tanks: Blitz
And now two eShop F2P online games were taken off the Switch eShop. Dawn of the Breakers and Get Amped Mobile servers are not longer available. Both games developed by CyberStep can't be downloaded or played beyond their title screens anymore. The "Project Octopath Traveler" download is also long gone, and not re-downloadable.
I haven't touched it since Epic bought the developer.
They made party up the default button after a match so I accidentally hit it every time.
@BCMT That's what I was looking for. Thanks for mentioning that it is available.
Split-screen is back!! I ignored this game for years but finally gave it a chance after my Brother recently bought a Switch and was looking for online games we could play together. Having so much fun!
@LillianC14 Why? Is it because of Epic or you just got board with it around the same time?
@Little_Squee yeah man! A lot of us have been waiting for this feature since September. Took waaaaaay too long, especially for those of us who paid for this before the free to play. Big big day!
Man I love these S1 reward medal animated decals. Even though I got platnium, the silver one is the coolest.
And split screen is back for the Switch!! (even though it's not in the update notes above)
Neon Fields map is cool, but the lack of detail on the black floor (switch version) was kind of disorienting to play on.
@LillianC14 If you didn't know Epic bought Psyonix, you'd never know playing it. This season that just started probably has the coolest stuff I've seen since I picked Rocket League back up last November.
I still can't stand those weird gatcha reward packets that they give you now, instead of, you know, actual items. I keep receiving dupes of what I already have! And why do the packets have a specific class (rare / super rare / etc)... but then when you open them you have to choose a class (rare / super rare / etc)... And then when they actually open it's completely random whether the reward inside is rare / super rare / etc... Complete nonsense!
I love the game and at its core it's still the same as before, but there's definitely been some rebalancing of the experience since they went FTP.
Also if anyone is interested in trading one interesting item for ten million exotic "blueprints", hit me up.
