I played 4 first, which was great. Then 1, which was also great, maybe even better, but hard as a starter. Then 5, which is only good with someone else, then 0, which is rubbish.

Layton looks so wrong now. Luke looks a bit older which is nice. But Layton's too simple. Layton 7 (at last) will be hopefully better than 6, certainly better than 5, and worse than all the rest.

Such a terrible game in so many ways. A remake could only improve it.

The jump in Freezeflame Galaxy off the summit to the platforms below is fun.

@GinMiguel I disagree. Changing the hair colour is just a few steps from more drastic measures. The doors are open! What next? Link is a girl? Ganondorf is the hero? Link uses an electric guitar!?

But... Link's hair is the wrong colour!

The 3D models return. The drawn versions were a lot better, a pity really. It's likely the tone, so destroyed in Laytons 5 and 6, will equally be remiss here. Hopefully a few puzzles might be all right.

Best top-down Zelda game.

I wonder if it's actually 12 star points, or if the player of this guide just got that from their level.

It should start black, with a harp or something playing the notes D, F, G, A, D, the ocarina's notes in OoT/MM, in scales, mysteriously.

Maybe it's just that the art for the JP version is higher quality but I prefer that.

I love Marble Garden Zone like most but the best? Not a chance! It's maybe better than the boring Angel Island Zone. Hydrocity, Carnival Night, Launch Base, Ice Cap, Sandopolis, Flying Battery, pretty much everything else in the game is better. Same for Sonic 1 and 2, it's one of the worst actually, still enjoy it but the others are more fun.

The title is fun at least.

They sort of did this in Link's Awakening remake and that was boring.

The Layton trailer wasn't much of a trailer, just showing a puzzle. Odd to see L+L in the foreground during gameplay. Seeing Layton is supposed to be a big treat basically, it's so rare to see him in the actual gameplay. Exciting in Layton 4. The puzzle solved animation wasn't great either. Whatever, it'll be miles ahead of 5 and the Katrielle rubbish.

@Anti-Matter I'd rather it had a dual screen like the DS.

I don't think it's a good game but I have beaten it many times.

@DanijoEX-the-Pierrot A lot of people seem to suggest an animated Zelda film would work better than live-action which I didn't think is necessarily a superior approach (it's probably going to be rubbish no matter the genre). But Minish Cap, Wind Waker as well, they strike me as definitely much better for an animated film, as indeed Toon Link was based on more-so. Since it's going to be live-action I wouldn't want the film to be based on that although otherwise it would be good.

@JackieCMarlow I was about to write that, it should be "I", or else written by multiple people.

It's good but lacks any sense of being real. I know one wouldn't really anticipate a realistic sense from a Mario game, but stuff like using old game themes in some challenges, seemingly just as a call-back where they could've picked any theme, and levels that vary to the extent of not really fitting the world (just like in 3D World). In that kind of way the older games are better. Oh and it's easy.

I did that last week, blindfolded.

Tatl and Tael - one works to end the world, the other to save it. Completely opposed, yet they get a seven!? Three, maximum!

I only know of Contact because of Mother 3. Looks interesting. I don't have any games I am confused about though. Oh except that BBC Micro game with the wizard and spiders. And a children's educational laptop (or something) with a game where you jump between vines. I still remember the music but have never seen it since, would love to.

2>4>1>3. 4 has so many flaws it's insane, but by being a lot longer it gets away with them more.

Good, the 2D games are a lot better.

The Japanese version wins in the end since that's the design they ended up using in the sequels.

Link is representative of the player - giving him a voice would be one more deterioration from that idea.

It was fun but so many bits were bad, I couldn't love it. Sonic 2 was better (the film and the game).
