Re: Hands On: Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne Still Has The Power To Shake You Up

The question I have is does it fix the puzzle that my wife got stuck on? There's this puzzle where you have to go get stone keys and put them back inside the middle fountain or whatever to progress in the game and open another door. Well there's one door that requires two Stone keys and my wife put the first stone key in the center thinking that she could just collect them and bring them back but apparently that Stone Key was required for the puzzle in the second room and there was no way to remove the Stone Key once it was installed in the fountain so she was soft locked. If they fix it by letting her remove the Stone when she soft locks again then we're golden. It's really far in the game though, like a while after you get Dante so she never play the game again because she was afraid she would forget the soft lock and do it again

Re: It Looks Like Labo Is Being Put To Rest As Nintendo Takes Down The Website

BubbleMatrix82

What if, now hear me out here, but what if they are discontinuing them because the "Joycons" as we know them today are going extinct and a new Joycon2 is being released that DOESN'T FIT THIS KIT? Basically, they were discontinued because the switch v2 has larger joycons and/or don't have the IR sensor anymore so it breaks Labo. I can see then why they would discontinue the product since it doesn't work on a Lite and it won't work on a v2 so how can they support it if it is only for launch NS? I think it's entirely possible a Labo v2 could get released, but that depends on demand for VR on the OLED display.

Re: A New Paid Membership Service Is Being Added To Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp

BubbleMatrix82

I am pretty darn sure that this subscription service is going to integrate into the Nintendo switch version of the game somehow so I wouldn't be too angry about this considering most Animal Crossing fans are playing it because of the social immersion that is much deeper than miitopia or Fantasy Life or even miitomo. The warehouse part really make sense for the Nintendo switch integration. And the free housekeeping is actually not too bad of a thing if the subscription is relatively cheap because not many people have time to play these games on their phone so paying a small fee to have someone collect fruit for you or whatever the game involves after the very beginning isn't too bad. I think the real problem with Animal Crossing is that a lot of people assume that it's a kids game but it was never geared towards kids at all. Most of the jokes are adult humor or even lowbrow humor. And I'm pretty sure the demographic who plays this game is either young adult women or hipster men and both demographics have a lot of money to spend as seen with avocado toast and the boom of Starbucks coffee pictures on the internet. So I think it's absurd to say that this game jump the shark when the truth is it is adding value to its targeted demographic. The same goes for Pokemon with their new Pokemon Bank equivalent, everyone knows that the person who cares about the old Pokemon are only the old people who remember those Pokemon. So what I'm getting at is everyone needs to stop whining and understand that Nintendo is going to Target whatever audience they believe their products are for and if you happen to not fit that Target that doesn't mean Nintendo failed at selling a game, it instead means that you are a niche gamer that Nintendo can't focus on because you are unpredictable based on the data.

Re: Will Nintendo Add More Game Styles To Super Mario Maker 2?

BubbleMatrix82

I honestly feel like Super Mario Bros 2 would be the only option besides possibly a paper Mario Style. If everyone is paying attention, you'll notice that all the styles are 2D side-scrolling and none of them are 3D. Sure there's some foreground and background trickery going on but none of the game styles are 3D, so Mario 64 or Galaxy or sunshine or Odyssey are all not probable

Re: Will Nintendo Add More Game Styles To Super Mario Maker 2?

BubbleMatrix82

@FTPinkRabbit If they do paid DLC it might only affect the Creator mode and not the playing mode. So you could pay for the DLC and create using all of the new stuff but a person without the DLC would be able to play it just fine because the materials are built into the executable, the DLC just unlocks it in creator mode.

Re: Reminder: Katamari Damacy Reroll Is Out Now On Nintendo Switch

BubbleMatrix82

Everyone complaining about the controls you must be poor because the game plays amazingly on a switch Pro Controller. I'll admit that the joycons seem to have a little bit of a lag which I thought was strange but I played it in TV mode not handheld so maybe the game was designed to be in handheld mode with the joycons? I played two whole levels though with the Pro Controller and I think a lot of people just suck at the game. Git g u d! I think a lot of people don't understand the physics in this game either, if you can't move the ball then it's probably too big and too heavy for the prince to push so you have to plan that when you're doing your game movements, like flipping around the ball just to push it the opposite direction it's going and maybe Dash instead of fighting against it. The point is, if you think the controls are bad then you're probably a noob who never played the game before and you're not really considering the sheer weight and inertia of the Katamari. I'll admit that the Collision for the first game was not forgiving and things keep falling off the Katamari versus the second game where you can bump into things and the game doesn't punish you so hard but overall the first game has a better storyline and the challenges are pretty reasonable considering no one's ever played it before. Obviously it's not going to be for everybody, some people are just going to scoff at it because what look like a lot of fun causing Mayhem ended up being a strategy game where you have to earn the right to cause Mayhem by getting big fast before the time Runs Out.

Re: Fire Emblem Heroes Experiences Decline In Player Spending During The Month Of November

BubbleMatrix82

I mean they need to do something with the formula! People are getting tired of doing voting gauntlets, blessed Gardens, Grand Conquest, and grinding the training Zone. It doesn't help that they gacha system hardly ever works in your favor and you keep getting the same people you've been getting for over a year. If they introduced new crappy three-stars or four star people then at least people would have new characters to play with but every time I pull I get a Lissa or a Barte, so it's getting old. Even thr aether raids can't save this thing. I've been using the same powerful group for half a year now and I can't pull anybody who makes my powerful group obsolete. The game just is suffering power creep and with the new langrisser coming out I think people are just ready to move on.

Re: Nintendo Download: 6th December (North America)

BubbleMatrix82

I'm sure this thread is dead now but I'm kind of angry that Katamari was supposed to drop today and I wasn't able to buy it and start downloading it before I went to work. It seems like to me release dates should be the local time zone instead of some weird planned release date time that the publisher decides but doesn't tell anyone else. Oh well, I hope it's ready when I get home from work.

Re: Joker From Persona 5 Joins The Battle As The First DLC Character In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

BubbleMatrix82

It's an interesting choice but at the same time it's kind of not, doesn't Persona have their own fighting game? It does seem more likely though that all of our characters are going to be characters from unannounced games. Which kind of makes the DLC characters more of a marketing tool then it does anything else. It'll still be fun for us but it's just free advertising for the publishers.

Re: Nintendo Download: 6th December (North America)

BubbleMatrix82

@link3710 it wasn't listed on the website before My GCU expired so my guess is if it is coming in they weren't taking pre-orders or doing online sales of it at Best Buy. I'm pretty sure GameStop has exclusive rights to it, which kind of makes sense because it's a niche game and who better to sell you a niche game than a person who is hyped up about games. Most Best Buy employees don't even care about games.

Re: Nintendo Download: 6th December (North America)

BubbleMatrix82

I'm hyped that Katamari is holding the highest percentage besides Smash and Sega.

11% is kind of low though, you guys all need to buy this game. $30 is hardly too much money for a PlayStation 2 game that was HD remastered and is in its purest form since everything after we love Katamari sucked.

If you are judging this game based on Graphics then you clearly don't understand what this game is about, it's a stress relief game. And if you're judging this game based on demos you played on the Xbox 360 or the PS3 then just know that those games were crap compared to this.

Anyone who's a gamer and likes a challenge will buy this game. Anyone who plays games because their friends do will just buy Smash Brothers and can cry when no one comes over who plays with them online.

Re: Spyro: Reignited Trilogy Might Run On Switch, But Developer Toys For Bob Honestly Isn't Sure

BubbleMatrix82

Honestly sounds like amateur Developers who don't know how to optimize their code to me. The Nintendo switch may have a cartridge capacity limit but in reality there are so many compression methods and so many coding changes that can be done to reduce that file size to fit within the limit. If anyone wants to disagree with me they should watch the TED Talk with the guy who invented Linux. He complains about how programmers take lazy approaches and have dirty code that takes up 17 lines when it could have been done in three or four. And when you do this several hundred times that's a bloated game that could have been optimized to perform better and need less processing instructions.
