Update [Wed 24th Aug, 2022 02:45 BST]: Some new pictures of the Samus Metroid Dread figma have surfaced online following its reveal earlier this month. They've been shared on social media courtesy of the Twitter account amiamihobbynews (via Nintendo Soup). You can cycle through these new shots in the tweet below:
There's no release date just yet for this figma, but if we hear anything, we'll share an update.
Original article [Sat 6th Aug, 2022 15:30 BST]: Earlier this year in February, Good Smile Company announced it would be releasing a Samus Aran figma based on her Metroid Dread design. Now, at SmileFest 2022, Good Smile has shared its first look at this stunning new release:

If this wasn't already enough for Metroid fans, Good Smile has also unveiled a brand new Metroid Dread figma - E.M.M.I. the robot:

There is no release date on either of these figmas just yet or pricing, but if we hear any updates we'll be sure to let you know.
If you've not tried out Metroid Dread yet, it's well worth a look. There's a demo on the Switch eShop and in May it was revealed the game had become the series' best-selling entry.
In related Nintendo news, Good Smile has also confirmed it's working on a scale figure and figma for Mio from Xenoblade Chronicles 3. Last but not least, it showed off a Nendoroid version of King Dedede from the Kirby series.

Those look amazing, and I'm sure the prices will be positively dreadful.
Would very much like to add Samus to my collection to sit alongside her Other M version I have. (Also you said the EMMI was an amiibo, not figma in the article)
Love the detail, but curious why the EMMI is all grey. Guessing it'll be painted if/when it's approved?
I mean, they're figma, of course they look great! I'd rather have a Samus Nendoroid though.
I'd consider getting the Samus one at some point as it looks fantastic, but like what has already been said, I'd guess the price will be ridiculous.
@KilloWertz I think they're usually $90-100. I impulse bought the Metroid Prime 3 Samus figma when it came out and it was about that price
@Kilroy New figure reveals often are grey as it's an early preview. It will have paint on release for sure.
I remember being offput by the new suit she sports in Dread, but it really grew on me the more I played. I was especially enamored with how it changes as you progress. I'd love to have this displayed on my shelf if I can manage to scrape the money together
@Jmjfrank That actually isn't half bad price wise. If the figures are really well done, then around $100 is reasonable. You get what you'd pay for. Ones that are around $200 or more, I don't care how good they are.
Already own the 2 armoured Figma releases (Zero Suit one didn’t do it for me); aiming to add both of these.
I’ll have to get that. Really like the dread suit.
That reminds me, I still need to buy Metroid Dread.
@Kilroy this is a prototype for the sculpt. It will be painted in the final, they will release painted samples later.
These are both super cool! Though again why is the thumbnail not the figure itself?
OK... what's a figma ?
@Nua That was so bad I almost hit the "report" button
Never noticed until now how ugly her arm canon is with that outfit.
Apart from that though, this looks incredible.
@IanfromBristol Thanks, I'll be here all week! Assuming the EMMIs don't find me first that is...
@IronMan30 You and me both. I was excited about it, and then I forgot about it.
Which of the seven E.M.M.I.s will be? Most likely the white one, just like the amiibo.
That Samus would be great to have on my new shelf along the amiibo. But as mentioned, the dreaded price will be the obstacle. Here in Mexico they can be a little expensive.
Still waiting on my Nia figure from them! Great quality, but close to $200. I think it releases summer next year.
I’ll definitely be getting these. They’ll sit nicely next to my Corruption, Other M and Zero Suit Samus figma.
I just want it, like, real bad, realese it already!!!
@Grogro figma balls lmao gottem
@Grogro a brand of high-end posable figures of assorted characters from all sorts of licensed IP. They're not for play like an action figure (they wouldn't withstand it, especially not from kids) they're purely for display and have a high level of detail and quality. But being posable and generally coming with accessories and swappable parts they are a bit more interactive than a resin statue. I have a few and it's fun to re-pose them once in a while.
They're made by GoodSmile who also make 'Nendoroids', which are essentially the same thing but in chibi form.
They're also generally not cheap and there are a lot of knock-off ones on eBay and at comic conventions and the like. Don't be fooled by those ones they're generally waaay lower quality, even for the cheaper price.
Figma balls
I'm sorry
I really like the way this was was sculpted, The streams the color, I really want this ngl.
Wish they'd do the gravity suit, purple ftw
@sketchturner I actually like the Dread's suit's arm cannon. A bit of a tangent, but I wish Nintendo wasn't lazy with Samus in Smash Ultimate because what they did was reuse her Other M design from Smash 4 instead of the (then) most recent model which was Samus Returns. I would've loved to see that suit in HD, never liked the Other M model to begin with.
Can't wait for E.M.M.I. to stare me down on the shelf while I'm sleeping
Absolutely awesome love it 😀
Very well. Now, all i need is Raven Beak figma and it’ll be an instant buy.
They also announced a Dedede prototype Nendoroid figure that looks super cute!!! Kirby fans have been waiting for for a Dedede figure for some time now. We were quite hyped.
The Metroid figures look stunning. Dread was fantastic. My GOTY in 2021
I'm going to be honest. I really would have preferred it to be 1:1 with the thumbnail image. The prototype is only half as nice. Make it like the thbmail pic and you can have my whole wallet. Actually get first4figures on this. They'll do it really nice. Tho expensive. It'll look hella cool. They got the chops to make it happen. For sure.
Reminds me of my Guyver figma figure
When I saw the Samus image I thought this was some info on Metroid Prime 4 at first. Does that game even exist still? we haven't heard anything for what seems like an eternity now.
Look amazing but I expect the price to amazingly expensive also.
