After teasing its reveal for the best part of 2022, Good Smile Company has now finally unveiled the much-anticipated 'Samus Aran: DREAD ver.' online, with pre-orders now available (thanks Nintendo Soup!)
Modelled on Samus' appearance in MecurySteam's Metroid Dread, the figure is highly posable and comes with all of the added customisation options that we have come to expect from Good Smile's releases.
Included with the figure are a Morph Ball, Omega Cannon parts, a gripping and open hand, and (most importantly) a Spider Magnet base — yes, this means you can stick Samus to walls just like in Dread!
Pre-orders for the figma are now live (from September 26th, 2022 10pm PST to November 9th, 2022 11:59pm PST) over on Good Smile's official store for $86.99 / 93.90€ (around £82 with current exchange rates) as well as an additional shipping charge.
If this seems a little pricey, it's just indicative of the quality of Good Smile's figures; however, we can see this being a big hit with Metroid Dread fans who want to add Samus' signature poses to their gaming display.
The figure is set to release in October 2023 for Japan and November 2023 for in the west.
What do you make of this figure? Will you be purchasing? Let us know in the comments below!

Comes to 200 BGN when I add in shipping. And there's gonna be 20% VAT on top of that + another 20 bucks or so in handling fees...much as I like it, I'm gonna have to pass, can't afford to spend over 1/5 of a monthly salary on a figure.
That is a cool looking figma but I already have a varia suit Samus.
…I’ll think about it….
Goodness that looks incredible. But I already have the Metroid Dread Amiibo two-pack so I think I’m good for now.
Oh, I love the magnet base! This would be my most expensive refrigerator magnet ever. If I could afford it.
Late 2023? I thought it was a typo but apparently not
That's a lot of money for some plastic. If you're smart, you would put that cash, elsewhere.
I get that not everyone can afford it, (myself included lol) but it really isn't a bad price for a figure of this quality. A lot of figures for collectors are much higher.
Some of the Hot Toys brand figures are easily in the $250-300 range. I can't begin to afford that personally, but boy are they works of art.
Prices from UK suppliers seem to be ranging from about £100-£140. Considering the last Samus Figma (Metroid Prime) was £75-£80 last year this is quite a jump.
I have the prime figure but this is just too good to let it pass, and im not even into figures like this, just a massive Metroid fan
@Rambler inflation is running at 10% not 60%
I loved every suit design in this one. The blue from the base was eye catching, the white made varia look fresh, the gravity suit got to look like a legit upgrade instead of a pallet swap, and the Metroid suit screamed nightmare fuel before she did anything.
I'm saving up for this and hoping they do all four.
I'm already considering dropping $70 on the deposit for Masked Dedede. My wallet can't take anymore abuse! 😭
I have figmas Other M varia suit and Other M Zero Suit, so of course I pre-ordered this one!
