We recently got our hands on the Famicom Classic Mini and it is truly a thing of beauty. However, it's mighty tempting to sacrifice its innards for the greater good after we watched the video above.
The modders over at Kei Studio have seemingly achieved the impossible and ripped out the guts of a Famicom Mini and installed it into a Game Boy shell.
The video above shows step by step details in how the modification is done. We have to say the end result is very impressive and demonstrates a great deal of skill on the part of Kei Studios. A second machine can even be hooked up for multiplayer, which is just amazing.
Are you tempted to try out this mod for yourself? As always let us know your thoughts with a comment below.

Again fans made something way cooler than what Nintendo offers! I would get one of these, they look pretty cool.
Nintendo needs to make their own version of this. I would buy it.
That's pretty cool. If it was ever mass produced I'd consider buying one but if I was going to go through the effort of 'building one' I'd just use a raspberry pi instead.
looks amazing I would never attempt it myself especially as I wouldn't want to harm my NES Mini.
I read the news today, NES Boy.
Here we go again...
Beginning of year 2017 = Modded Retro Madness.
Wow.
The design is amazing, but the lukewarm, obvious selections don't look any more tempting in a handheld! I wonder if they'd considered swapping some of these out...?
Lovely, but what about the shoulder buttons????
(I know there are no shoulder buttons on the Famicom controller).
I will actually prefer portable versions of the Classic Mini line instead of the current ones.
Yep I know this was going to happen
Mil vezes mais fácil pegar um RaspberryPI, meter um emulador e colocar em qualquer case quer quiser.
I'll gladly pay up to 130 for this, maybe a bit more if I can get 100 or so games.
D@mn. Many things were lost a bit on the translation...
Man that mod is some serious work. I'd never dare to do something like that, it needs a really thought out plan to even achieve it.
Though the physicist in me wants to ask, doesn't that thing gets hot? The innards seems really cramped with not much free space for heat dissipation.
Like a Japanese Ben Heck. I'll take them both!
