For some time now, we've known Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age - Definitive Edition would be released on the Switch in the west this Fall with exclusive content.
If you've been wondering how the localisation process is going, it's been discovered the Australian Classification Board recently rated the game. With E3 just around the corner, this rating suggests a release date could be revealed within the next few weeks. For now, though, here's the classification:

Yes! Been waiting for this game for a long time. Could’ve gotten it on PS4, but I waited for the Switch version because I reckon it will be the definitive edition. Although the visuals won’t be on par, I can definitely see this port performing extremely well.
Ohhhh man it's happening!
oy cheers mate
I can't believe how many great games are coming this year to Switch.
@Solomon18 Wish us Aussies actually talked like that. The slang from New Zealanders is a lot more like that.
@ALinkttPresent Yeah. Hoping for more open world RPG’s of this scale next year. I can only deal with a couple each.
I'm really excited for this one, but I got a little worried when I saw the pictures in the eshop, they where quite blurry... Will this resolution be the final result?
Would be great if the game is released in August/early September, before the fall/holiday game onslaught.
Oh man, I'm so excited for this game! Hopefully the resolution holds up in handheld mode.
Yesssss! This is one of my most awaited games!
A release date draws near?
Nice... People are going to love it. Such a great game.
While I am a big jrpg fan. I never played one if the dragon quest franchise (except builders 1, which is not a rpg). I am looking forward to this
I will likely be picking this up. Always heard good things about the DQ series!
@Thorthegreat12 but I am an ozzy an that's how I talk. my dad is a kiwi though so that could explain it
Might be my first dragon quest
@Thorthegreat12 How will it be the definitive edition?
Yayyyyyyyyy two years later, who cares anymore. Oh wait but it does have watered down graphics as a plus?
@Ralizah it's a demanding game GPU wise. My computer goes loud because the fans are really working. I have I7 cpu and 1070gtx it can hold 60fps all the time with here and there fps dips @[email protected] I'm sure an upgrade for me would be better. So not sure how switch will do undocked without the AA I guess
I've been waiting for this one as well, since it was first announced.
But reading the comments above has convinced me that I need another console rather than have to wait for games that may or may not get a Switch release.
Ugh I really REALLY want this game. I'm glad we're getting it after the DQX mess.
@YANDMAN well when a version is the only one with voice overs and an exclusive extra retro artstyle that you can change on the fly I would say it is pretty clear why it is called the definitive edition.
P.s: I did not even had to add the reason you trolls hate so much aka portability
The sooner the better as this is by far my most anticipated game for 2019 from everything that has been announced so far.
P.s: closely followed by link's awakening obviously
I can't wait! It's been so hard to not pick this up on Ps4 but I know I'll get to play it more on switch. Hopefully it's real soon.
I'm totally double dipping on this title and playing in the 16 bit mode they showed haha. This was my favourite game of 2018. My first Dragon Quest game and now I'm loving the series.
@Heavyarms55 Is easy to enjoy Dragon Quest, you just need to play it for a while and you will know why many people love it. I think the most important point of Dragon Quest is consintency, in so many years they only made 11 mainline games (Final Fantasy in less time have 15) and all of them are very good games or masterpieces. That talks of the care devs have with DQ.
I just played through DQ1, and am going to try to play through 3 and 5 and maybe 8 before 11 comes out. I'm certain I would have loved these games years ago if I had known about them. I'm so glad I will get to play 11 on Switch (and with Japanese audio!).
Definitely will buy this again just because of the portability.
I can't wait! I hope this is an indication that there will be a solid release date announced next week.
@YANDMAN It’s a culmination of content from the 3DS and PS4 versions. With language from the English version, 8-bit from the 3DS and adjustments to make the game better to play. On top of that, it has new content which will be exclusive. I reckon that’s enough to deem it ‘definitive’.
@Solomon18 Haha, same. Didn’t pickup any words though, 😂
BOUT TIME! DANG!
@Thorthegreat12 HMMMM
@sandman89 mine too
