Re: Talking Point: Six Months Since Launch, How Would You Rate Switch 2?

Aswannsong

Only real issue is battery, and I miss OLED a bit. But this will come later to switch 2.

Otherwise Cyberpunk, Donkey Kong, Silksong and Metroid Prime 4 have all been wonderful, generation defining gaming moments for me.

Once Elden Ring and Expedition 33 (fingers crossed) are ported, I’ll be set while I wait for the new Zelda and Mario. Everything else is just 4K updates for Metroid dread, Pikmin 4 etc.

I pity PlayStation and the other company who have really dropped the ball in comparison.

@electrolite77 I would be so honoured. Unfortunately, I wasn’t in appraisal of either - I find both revolting. I was more making the point that people complain, but they never actually punish the people responsible.

All the avengers movies make tonnes of money, and there will always be a marketing dork in New York somewhere who’s been assigned ‘make Metroid more accessible, make it sell 20m.” Who goes “well morons keep seeing avengers 36, what if we made Metroid into avengers?”

The logic, to his brain is unassailable. Many layers of corporate approve this.

Don’t give them the ammunition they need, and you won’t face these repercussions.

Sincerely, corporate drone

Instead of complaining about marvel humour and JJ Abrams “they have jet packs now?”

Perhaps consider not watching marvel films and pushing them over $1bn in revenue.

Then people wouldn’t consider this to be something anyone wants.

Unfortunately, a lot of you love Spider-Man 119, Batman 7 and avengers 36.

It is perfectly reasonable for corporate executives to assume the vast population of the west are stupid, illiterate babies who love this stuff.

You reap what you sow.

Re: Metroid Prime 4, Elden Ring, Silksong All Playable At Nintendo's Gamescom Booth

Aswannsong

Bummer for those of us that haven’t completed Metroid prime 3… and have no means of doing so.

No Metroid prime 2 & 3 is one of the bizarrest of Nintendo’s bizarre decisions. I mean, they did a half-assed job dropping sunshine and Mario 64 on a cart. How hard is it to do the same for these two?

Please don’t respond about motion controls - we all know ‘turning the key in a lock’ wiimote actions can be easily mapped to a single button.

Re: Video: Digital Foundry's Technical Analysis Of Tomb Raider I-III Remastered

Astonishing how many of you don’t understand how sourcing and credit works.

Embedding someone else’s video from YouTube, and casually referencing their story, without directly linking to the actual story itself deprives the original publication, and author, the hits and revenue, at a minimum. I won’t go into the details around plagiarism etc.

Here is the original written article for those interested in supporting the actual journalist:

Re: Nintendo Wins "Switch Joy-Con Drift" Class Action Lawsuit

Aswannsong

Into my fifth year of owning a switch (second model, moved to Oled in 2021), I have 4 joycon, a pro, a ringfit and a 8bitdo Pro 2. have never had any controller issues. Not trolling, genuinely asking - is joycon drift actually a thing? What is it? Is it when the static deadzone drifts in a direction?

Or is this whole issue just about some hardcore nerds who thrash their controllers and break them.

In fact, I don’t know anyone who had had joycon drift - 3 friends who owns switches. Is this just a beat up because Nintendo is a price gouger?

Genuinely asking

Re: Poll: Is The Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack Good Enough Value Yet?

Aswannsong

I just want to buy individual games, that are permanently installed on my system. I’ll pay - and quite a lot more than the sub model. I’d easily pay $10+ for Metroid fusion on its own, locked to my system, no internet required. But without any of the key GBA games - why would I bother?

I can play a better version of Mario 64 on the anniversary disc (with galaxy) and Zelda’s I have the lovely remasters on 3DS. Why haven’t these come over instead of the 64 originals?

Re: Talking Point: What Did You Think Of The Latest Nintendo Direct?

Aswannsong

Hate Kirby and Bayonetta. no new Mario, Zelda or DK. No fzero or star fox. Fire emblem was destroyed by the horrific three houses, so I hope engage goes back to 3DS quality.

I just want Metroid prime trilogy. I don’t even care if it’s not remastered.

If we can’t have that - can we please atleast get fish in a barrel kaching kaching ports like dark souls 2, Batman Arkham trilogy, metal gear etc.

Please Nintendo, be lazy in the right ways. Port old stuff like GBA, not farming crap and JRPG anime crap
