An embarrassing review for Nintendo life. The virtual boy is famously a steaming pile of hot sh*t, and will never be anything above a 3/10 - even for the most diehard fan.

It breaks your neck, has no (good) games, and failed in the market catastrophically.

Not only are game key cards pointless and stupid for not actually including anything - it’s destructive to the environment to create these ‘empty cards’ out of plastics and metals, and ship them around the world in dead air plastic containers. Literally shipping air.

If Silksong introduced an ‘easy’ mode that made everything one mask damage (atleast until the citadel) - we wouldn’t be having this discussion. Silksong is better in every way, its difficulty is just unbalanced and unfairly tilted against new players

I don’t play multiplayer - but obv want the frame rate and resolution upgrades. Don’t think it’s fair to force me to pay for some multiplayer nonsense I will never use.

It’s a really bad game. I don’t sit here wondering why bad games don’t sell. Nintendo loaded this turkey up as their ‘Christmas hit’ and it flopped.

@BTB20 I do. It’s just so sad. 3gb of ram that could’ve been used for literally anything else. Textures, load times. Anything. It’s excruciatingly stupid that Nintendo decided to allot a quarter of the systems RAM to a stupid feature no one wants.

Never needed a remake. All it needed was a port at 4k.

@Scarmucci there’s a certain film you might need to watch, it’s called Star Wars. It’s the first part of a trilogy. It has resolution, and works as a standalone film.

Only real issue is battery, and I miss OLED a bit. But this will come later to switch 2.

Otherwise Cyberpunk, Donkey Kong, Silksong and Metroid Prime 4 have all been wonderful, generation defining gaming moments for me.

Once Elden Ring and Expedition 33 (fingers crossed) are ported, I’ll be set while I wait for the new Zelda and Mario. Everything else is just 4K updates for Metroid dread, Pikmin 4 etc.

I pity PlayStation and the other company who have really dropped the ball in comparison.

I hope they port the older ‘new’ games - ie ancient Egypt and Greece. Haven’t played AC since black flag, as lost interest.

Unfortunately Feudal Japan is a bit tired to my mind (too many games of late in this era) so probably not so keen on this - especially with performance issues.

Porting mirage and odyssey prob wouldn’t have these same issues?

Good game for the first half, then, sigh, it devolves into a truly infuriating shoot em up. Literally just waves and waves of enemies through to the end of the game. A tragedy. Wait for Rise, the best of the new trilogy.

No Metroid prime 2 & 3 is one of the bizarrest of Nintendo’s bizarre decisions. I mean, they did a half-assed job dropping sunshine and Mario 64 on a cart. How hard is it to do the same for these two?
