@Yorumi Well, that's the point, though. The devs aren't going for that. They want to be influencers. So of course the direction will be about trying to influence people.
@Peterjr1 It seems like way too many people think the purpose of a review is to justify their own personal taste.
Like, if the game they've already decided they're going to buy has a reviewer crapping on it, it's somehow a personal attack; as if they're seeing it as "You're a bad person who likes bad games and will swallow any crap shoved down your throat."
But in the end, it's just a review. It's not an affirmation.
Saturn Ports are necessary, since most Saturn games are overpriced.
They own Technosoft's IPs now, so how about getting Nekketsu Oyako (not to be confused with Technos/ArcSys' Nekketsu series), Blast Wind, TFV, and Hyper Duel on some current platforms?
@DarthFoxMcCloud If you want to play it now, go ahead and get digital. Don't worry so much about the slings and arrows from the "Every time somebody buys digital, it's making it so that publishers won't produce physical games for real collectors, and some day they're going to stealth-delete it from your system!" crowd.
There are other people who already bought it digital, so that die is already cast.
@Arehexes Because it would be the same as arguing that Nocturne Maniax is part of the Devil Summoner sub-series because Raidou shows up as a bonus boss.
I know this'll get downvoted into oblivion, but man, the "anime makes it ok" excuse doesn't fly when talking about the sexualization of underage characters.
I normally am completely turned off by "fanservice" sort of stuff out-of-hand, but I've played the PS4 version of this and the gameplay isn't bad at all.
@depooter The Previous 4 M2 ShotTrigGers titles have all been for PS4.
The first two (Battle Garegga and Dangun Feveron) both got digital western releases. The other two (Mahou Daisakusen and Ketsui Kizunajigokutachi) have been left to rot.
If M2 has lost interest in bringing the M2STG series over, it's not going to magically change "because Switch now".
That's why the Southeast Asia version is completely in English. It's much cheaper to acquire all the licenses for the constituent shows in that region.
Bandai-Namco have even said (with a "wink wink, nudge nudge") that despite being Asia Region, they're designed to be imported by Anglophone gamers in North America and Europe.

Re: Frame Rate Was One Of The "Top Priorities" For The Developer Of Daemon X Machina
Of course everyone would prefer 60 FPS with perfect frame pacing, but you're not going to get that out of the Switch.
30 with no drops and no timing issues is probably the best to hope for.
Re: Nintendo And Tencent Share More Details About Switch Launch In China
Interesting.
Wonder how much people's Social Credit Scores will drop for buying one (since supposedly, buying video games lowers it).
Re: Nintendo Download: 1st August (North America)
Seems pretty underwhelming this week.
Re: Gallery: All The Hero's Alternate Costumes And Mii Fighter Outfits In Smash Bros. Ultimate
The Angelo and Terry alternate colors are inspired.
Re: New Super Lucky's Tale Burrows Onto Nintendo Switch This November
I don't know. I feel like getting it would just feed into a stereotype.
Re: The Original DOOM, DOOM II And DOOM 3 Are Available On Switch Now
Sounds like you have to have an Online subscription to play it, though.
Always online, and have to log into Bnet.
Re: Super Robot Wars V And Super Robot Wars X Both Headed To Switch
Have to think there's a decent chance of the Asian English releases making it to Steam.
Depends on if the licensing fees would ramp back up or not, I guess.
Re: Super Mega Baseball 2 Aims For A Home Run On Switch Next Week
The animations seem a bit stiff, but otherwise it might be nice to have a baseball game that won't have out-of-date rosters almost right away.

@Yorumi Well, that's the point, though. The devs aren't going for that. They want to be influencers. So of course the direction will be about trying to influence people.
Re: Battle Brexit On Switch With Not Tonight: Take Back Control Edition
Because everything has to be all politics, all the time now.
Bring on those downvotes.
Re: Deals: PC Engine / TurboGrafx-16 Mini Pre-orders Are Now Live
Even with Sapphire on it, that price is ridiculous.

Re: Get Ready To Gigantamax As New Pokémon Are Announced For Sword And Shield On Switch
Ugh, why do they keep making "food, but it's alive" pokemon?
It's just too damned unappealing...
Re: Review: Psyvariar Delta - A Classic Shooter That Will Leave You Buzzing
@Heavyarms55 Still needs some Cave and Raizing content.
Re: Review: Furwind - Likeable Platforming Action That Dulls Too Quickly
Nah, I'm not falling for this one.
Re: Nintendo Download: 27th June (North America)
Finally, Virtua Racing.
Re: SolSeraph Is The ActRaiser Spiritual Successor You've Been Praying For
Less "spiritual successor" and more "blatant copy" (which is fine as long as it plays well), but yeah.
Re: Random: Rare's Logo Is Actually A Golden Toilet Roll
This is the essential content people flock to.
Re: Preview: Astral Chain Is The 2019 Switch Game Everyone Should Be Talking About
Getting kind of a Chaos Legion vibe, but more single-target focused.

Re: Review: The Last Remnant Remastered - An RPG With Fine Ideas Scuppered By A Lack Of Clarity
I don't hate the game, but the last thing they needed to do was take the SaGa framework and make it even MORE complex.
Re: Konami's Castlevania, Contra And Arcade Collections Now Include Japanese Game Versions
Finally, a non-borked version of A-Jax.
Re: Spike Chunsoft Has "Exciting News" To Share On 19th June
Nice to see a lot of Fire Pro love here.
Guessing maybe they add an AEW DLC pack to Fire Pro or something.
Re: Review: Collection of Mana - Expensive, But Ultimately Worth Every Penny
@JayJ Most retro-hardcores are fans of 2 genres above all : JRPGs and Shmups.
So yeah.

Re: Rolling Gunner Brings Side-Scrolling Bullet Hell Shmup Action To Switch Next Week
Hopefully it'll be less disappointing than Devil Engine was.

@Arehexes Because it would be the same as arguing that Nocturne Maniax is part of the Devil Summoner sub-series because Raidou shows up as a bonus boss.
Re: There Is "No Plan" To Bring Persona 5 Royal To Other Consoles, Atlus Reiterates
@Trajan Unless you retroactively count SMT if... as part of the series.
Which you probably shouldn't, but I'm sure someone somewhere might make the argument.
Re: Sega Will Feature Mario & Sonic At The Olympic Games 2020, Mega Drive Mini And More At E3
@AxeltheCorvikni Missed all the controversy, did you?
Re: The Game Sony Tried To Silence Is Getting An Uncensored English Language Release On Switch
@Laxeybobby Heh. Long-Distance Enjo Kosai.
Re: The Game Sony Tried To Silence Is Getting An Uncensored English Language Release On Switch
@Baart I wouldn't play a game that sexualized them either, no.
Re: The Game Sony Tried To Silence Is Getting An Uncensored English Language Release On Switch
@cronosus01 I'd be just as skeeved out by a western game that sexualized children, too.
Re: The Game Sony Tried To Silence Is Getting An Uncensored English Language Release On Switch
I know this'll get downvoted into oblivion, but man, the "anime makes it ok" excuse doesn't fly when talking about the sexualization of underage characters.
Re: Video: Ok, We're Hyped About Pokémon Sword & Shield After That Direct
The internet's obsession with wooloo is getting a little bit creepy.
Re: XSEED Announces The Switch Games It Will Showcase At E3 2019
@BionicDodo They lost the rights to the Ys deal.
NIS America has it now for any new titles.
Re: Nintendo Download: 6th June (North America)
I still doesn't understand why the NA list always lists last week's ACA instead of this week's (Solomon's Key).
Re: A Totally Exclusive Port Of Darius Is Coming To The Mega Drive Mini
@MaaadMatt Blame Malcolm Laurie for that one.
Re: Mega Drive Mini Games List: All 42 Titles Revealed
@Panopticon It's a janky platformer where the real cart is dirt cheap.
Slap Fight or MUSHA would provide more value (especially for those not inclined to drop $300-500 US on an actual MUSHA cart).
And there are much better Sega-published platformers than Kid Chameleon that didn't make the release (Jewel Master, Pulseman, Ristar)
Re: The Mega Drive Mini Ships With A Version Of Tetris We Were Never Meant To Play
@BensonUii the Japanese version has the MOST IMPORTANT GAME ON THE ENTIRE SYSTEM (MUSHA) as an exclusive.
Re: The Mega Drive Mini Ships With A Version Of Tetris We Were Never Meant To Play
@impurekind In the livestream, they were playing the System 16 version instead, so maybe it'll end up being that.
Re: Mega Drive Mini Games List: All 42 Titles Revealed
We.
Got.
F***ed.
Out.
Of.
MUSHA.
Thanks, Sega.
Light Crusader, Kid Chameleon, and Alex Kidd are garbage.
Re: Sexy Shmup Caladrius Blaze Is Getting An English-Language Release
I normally am completely turned off by "fanservice" sort of stuff out-of-hand, but I've played the PS4 version of this and the gameplay isn't bad at all.
Re: John Vignocchi Leaves Gearbox And Joins Nintendo Of America
I'm sure it's been said 1,000 times by now, but nobody wants to be anywhere near Randy Pitchford right now.
Re: Star Ocean: First Departure R Announced For Nintendo Switch
I mean the first one's only about 15 hours long, but ok...

Re: Cave's Legendary Shmup ESP Ra.De. Is Coming To Switch, Courtesy Of M2
Won't be hitting the west, then.
The past two M2 ShotTriggers (Ketsui Kizunajigokutachi and Mahou Daisakusen) are still Japan-only.
Re: Sega Mega Drive Mini Games List: 10 More Titles Revealed
@aaronsullivan MUSHA is probably THE single most important release, since a legit loose cartridge runs around $350-500+ these days.
Re: Review: Super Robot Wars T - Enjoyable Tactical Mecha Goodness For Returning Fans And Newcomers Alike
@GameOtaku None of those had to have licenses paid for.
And that said, OGs, OG Gaiden, and 2nd OG all got passed over.
They didn't even get an Asia Region translation.
Re: Review: Super Robot Wars T - Enjoyable Tactical Mecha Goodness For Returning Fans And Newcomers Alike
@GameOtaku Not going to happen.
V didn't.
X didn't.
OG Moon Dwellers didn't.
And those are all the ones from the "Easier Access Translation" era.
