Re: Random: Nintendo Switch Sports Contains A Neat Easter Egg In Its Credits

Abeedo

@NikHogan @Hero-of-WiiU It was just some person unnecessarily bullying another person for something off topic, and all comments whether they were bullying the person, or defending the person were removed. Disrespecting others comments were likely removed for bullying, while off-topic comments were removed for arguing against the bullying.

Re: Deals: Lots Of Top Nintendo Switch Games Are £15 Off In The UK Right Now

Abeedo

@Moonsorrow999 It's not that they didn't do research. All these links are affiliate links, so they get a cut of the sales. Basic marketing dictates that they convince you to buy it.

Edit: I'm not a UK resident so I don't know the full extent of things, but a quick Google search shows that most of these games are at least £5 cheaper than major UK retailers such as Argos or Game.

Re: Feature: What's Your Biggest Nintendo Launch Day Regret?

Abeedo

I actually got a wii u at launch. I remember being disappointed at New Super Mario Bros. U (probably my least favourite game of the series), but I loved Nintendo Land. Possibly one of the greatest party games I've had. People certainly seemed to have more fun with it than Mario Kart and Smash Bros.

My biggest disappointment however had to be buying digital games during the launch window of the Wii U. Trine 2 and Chasing Aurora were games that looked interesting, but really felt like filler until the good games released. My experience with those was why I refused to buy into the hype with launch games like Snipperclips, games that would likely be regarded a lot less highly had people had something else to play other than Zelda.

Re: Take A Look At Some Stylish Screens For Return To Monkey Island

Abeedo

@Fizza Well I don't know about Monkey Island, but I played Ron Gilbert's Thimbleweed Park, and I found it hilarious. It does have some fairly obtuse puzzles, but luckily they decided to put in a robust hint system to negate the need to use google. I can imagine that the Monkey Island games would be harder since they lack this system, but at the same time you can use Thimbleweed as a starting point to gauge if you'd like to continue with the genre.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (April 9th)

Abeedo

Right now I'm playing Knights of the Old Republic. I find most older 3D games usually age very poorly, so I'm surprised to see myself loving this game. The story is intriguing, the voice acting is great, and it really feels like you get to discover an incredibly interesting world. Also the combat is not as bad as I thought it would be, so that's great too.

Re: Poll: Are You Excited About Pokémon Scarlet And Pokémon Violet?

Abeedo

@Royalblues I thought Pokémon always looked very anime. I think up until gen 6 all the designs had been aiming for a cool, hip anime aesthetic that appealed to young boys. I think now the demographic has changed a little, and all the character and Pokémon designs are more cutesy and adorable, possibly to appeal more to the growing female demographic.

Re: Nintendo Indie World Showcase To Air Tomorrow, 15th December

Abeedo

@Rin-go Are you talking about Liam Robinson? If so then I agree. I actually got blocked by him earlier today on Twitter just for defending the validity of a leaker (in a non harassing way mind you). Although leaking can spoil reveals for people, he is definitely worse the people he targeted with some very aggressive a
behaviour.

Re: I'd Rather You Didn't Put Me In Mortal Kombat, Says Keanu Reeves

Abeedo

@RupeeClock Tom and Jerry had crossovers far before that. 2011 had Tom and Jerry and the Wizard of Oz. Before that we had 1962's Dicky Moe (Moby Dick), and 1952's The Two Mouseketeers (The Three Musketeer's). Obviously Tom and Jerry has become less creative with their crossovers, but they have existed for a while.

Re: Review: Pokémon Brilliant Diamond And Shining Pearl - A Middling Pair Of Remakes

Abeedo

@Sahnec I mean there is an expectation that the remakes will be better than the games that came out over a decade ago. Even if it wasn't advertised, people have a right to complain if the game's quality isn't matching up to the generation it's adapting, especially when the previous remakes (omega ruby and alpha sapphire) contained elements of emerald within it.

Re: Random: Nintendo's Switch Online 'Expansion Pack' Trailer Is Now Its Most Disliked YouTube Video Ever

Abeedo

@Jevarel Not true. I and many other people sunk in hours and hours into ps plus games like rocket league, fall guys, uncharted 1-4, The Last of Us, Bloodborne, The Bioshock Collection, Borderlands: The Handsome Collection, Star Wars Battlefront 2, Titanfall 2, the Batman Arkham games, Yakuza 0, etc. Whether you want to admit or not, you are getting crazy value as opposed to receiving the same old roms over and over again.

Re: Random: Nintendo's Switch Online 'Expansion Pack' Trailer Is Now Its Most Disliked YouTube Video Ever

Abeedo

@Clyde_Radcliffe Yes but the fact remains that it really doesn't cost that much to rerelease n64 games, considering the fact that they're just roms that Nintendo has uploaded. As a consumer you have to support the best deal for yourself, not make excuses for the company. Nobody makes excuses for Nokia being worse than Samsung by saying, "It's not their fault their phones suck. They're a much smaller company." Nintendo is technically the richest company in Japan, so even if they're not as diversified as their competitors, they are able to invest in better online infrastructure, and can make this online expansion pack cheaper. Otherwise there's nothing stopping people from subscribing to superior services.

Re: Random: Nintendo's Switch Online 'Expansion Pack' Trailer Is Now Its Most Disliked YouTube Video Ever

Abeedo

@Clyde_Radcliffe In that sense it's not expensive. But if you look at what the competition is doing, the value is far worse. With Nintendo you get a bunch of poorly running roms of games that are almost thirty years old, and that people have been subjected to many times before, while with playstation and xbox you get games that are relatively modern every month, that likely run a lot better. If Nintendo were following the competition they would release switch games onto the service, including some of their first party titles, and they would also fix their online. Since they aren't doing that it's only fair that consumers criticise them for making a service far inferior to their rivals for almost the same price.

Re: Review: Super Mario 64 - The Best Launch Game Ever Made

Abeedo

Tbh as someone who played it for the first time last year I have to say it is very overrated. Obviously many people have nostalgia for the game, and that raises it's level greatly for them since in 1996 this would have been the greatest game of all time. But playing it compared to modern standards there is so much things that I noticed don't hold up. The camera system, the variety in each levels, the same music tracks in every level, these are things that would greatly improve in future games. I didn't just slightly dip my toes into the game too, I went full in. I 100 percented the game on wii u last summer, and after thinking that I may have been the problem due to different expectations I 100 percented it again in 3d all stars. After that my opinions ended up solidifying. If this game came out today it would at most get a 7/10.
