Update (Wed 4th May): This fantastic bank holiday sale is still running as of Wednesday 4th May, meaning that the prices found below are still the best available for lots of top Switch games in the UK right now. Plenty of these titles are now showing as being 'Low Availability', so you might want to act fast.
Original Article (Mon 2nd May, 2022 12:00 BST): We do love a good bank holiday sale – especially when it means that a wide variety of Nintendo Switch favourites are available at discounted prices – and thankfully that's exactly what we have here.
UK retailer ShopTo has kindly knocked roughly £15 (just over £15 in most cases) off plenty of Nintendo's biggest and best games for Switch. We're talking Mario, Pokémon, Zelda, Animal Crossing and more – series that rarely get sizable discounts at retail.
We've rounded up all of ShopTo's Nintendo Bank Holiday Sale for you below. With the sale being specific to today's bank holiday, we wouldn't hang around if there's anything catching your eye:

Lots to choose from, huh?
Make sure to let us know which games you've decided to pick up in the comments below, and feel free to share your recommendations for others, too! Oh, and remember that the Amazon Gaming Week sale is also taking place in the UK right now if you're after more deals...

Why do they have some of the Nintendo games as being £59.99 full price? As far as I'm aware, only BOTW costs that.

@OorWullie they don’t. That’s just retail cost. It’s a very common thing for websites to show RRP, then show the deduction so the % is highest. It’s a shame the amazing, well informed NintendoLife journalist didn’t take a second to research before he posted.
@Moonsorrow999 I mean, I don't think they even cost that at RRP. Other than BOTW, it's £49.99 at most.
@Moonsorrow999 It's not that they didn't do research. All these links are affiliate links, so they get a cut of the sales. Basic marketing dictates that they convince you to buy it.
Edit: I'm not a UK resident so I don't know the full extent of things, but a quick Google search shows that most of these games are at least £5 cheaper than major UK retailers such as Argos or Game.
Too bad FETH and XC2 aren't here. :/
@Abeedo So the problem with the article is it’s written suggesting they were a flat £50 or £60 at the beginning. That wasn’t true, in fact Bravely Default was at £38, and it’s what £35 now? That’s a £3 discount, and it’s a similar case with all the games here.
The way the website is set up, shows RRP, then the discount to show the difference. That’s a common market strat and I’d assume anyone writing about that should know it.
How is smash bros ultimate still that price? Whilst all other switch exclusives are around £10 cheaper without a sale elsewhere
I wish Nintendo Life had an American version of the site, I see all the articles about sales and I get excited just to the see it’s U.K. only lol
RRP is £50 for most games, so technically the sale is £15 off. However, most are usually available for £40, so it's really an extra fiver off. Anyone who's been buying physical for some time will know this anyway. But a fiver saving is still a fiver saving! Tempted by one of them myself, but will probably pass due to a big backlog.
@Abeedo Yup here in the UK its cheaper to buy physical copies than digital.
@AndyC_MK111 Base.com are good too
@Pj1 Here in Ireland it's about the same. At least until the digital sales, then digital becomes a lot cheaper (physical switch games never go on sale here).
Still amazed that 2 year old sonic & Mario Olympic game is still full price everywhere
@Yas careful mate they will hide your comment lol.
I remember physical Skyward Sword HD being available online for £33- at launch lol
365 games are no to bad either. They also have imports without the nasty import fees.
literally found rise in tesco about 3 month ago for £10
Ordered Shin Megami Tensei V for 39.85. That's the lowest price for this I've seen till now. Especially when physical stores don't seem to stock them - asked a Game store and they said they once got 9 copies and never since.
I'm waiting for the Pokémon games to go down to around £25 so I'll be waiting a long time 😂
Nice! Decent prices for some of these Switch games. £40 tends to be as low as most of them go, usually.
If we're being honest its really only a fiver off.
I got pretty much all these for £40 at launch.
Btw Bravely Default 2 is £25 at The Game Collection atm
@Lukandon If anything XBC2 has gone up in price, I saw it for £60 last month.
Those are not discounts, they are older games that just drop in value.
@HeeHo It's a bit less than that now, but CeX has it for £45, which is somewhat reasonable.
Decided to grab Zelda: Link's Awakening and Monster Hunter Stories 2. Thanks for the article!
EDIT: Btw, if anyone is after Bravely Default II, it's £30 at The Game Collection: https://www.thegamecollection.net/bravely-default-ii-with-free-double-sided-poster-postcards-and-sticker-sheet-switch?sqr=bravely%20
With tax in the UK, fifteen pounds is just getting your tax back.
Most of these games have never been 49.99 s0 the discount is pretty poor. Pikmin can often be picked up for 24.99. I wouldn't find any of these offers a bargain.
@Moistnado I don't get why they tax digital games aswell it's stupid they'd tax oxygen if they could
@Would_you_kindly if someone in Russia purchases a game on the UK eShop, 20% of the purchase cost (tax) could go towards buying the bomb that lands on them. Fifteen pounds would probably buy one bullet for every family member. Fortunately Russian eShop is in 'maintenance mode', meaning nobody will accidentally kill a Ukrainian by buying a videogame.
