Skyward Sword HD

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword might not necessarily be everyone's favourite entry in the Zelda series, but according to Nintendo, it put a lot of foundations in place for the Wii U swan song and Switch launch title, Breath of the Wild.

Nintendo has used this as yet another opportunity on social media to promote the upcoming high-definition version of Skyward Sword for Switch - providing a look at some moments that are strikingly similar to scenes out of Breath of the Wild. Of course, Skyward Sword is its own unique style and obviously isn't an open-world experience.

If a history lesson in the Zelda series doesn't particularly interest you, perhaps another reason to consider picking up the HD version of Skyward Sword is for the new "button-only" control scheme. Nintendo used this new feature earlier this week to promote how "perfect" the game is for the Switch Lite.

What do you think of some of the above-mentioned features introduced in Skyward Sword? Are you glad they carried across to Breath of the Wild? Will you be buying Skyward Sword HD? Leave a comment down below.
