The problems with frequent delays are that the developers eventually tend to say "**** it!" and cancel it.

I remember the Wii ports of Tomb Raider Anniversary and Tomb Raider Underworld being pretty dismal, but I think that had a lot to do with having to use unconventional controls. Had those ports been compatible with the GameCube controllers and/or Classic Controllers, I think they would have done much better.

Actually, I was referring to region-locking, lack of multimedia compatibility, continued use of friend codes, lack of improvement on Miis, power that can barely compete with consoles that are at least six years old, limits on playable demos, lack of custom soundtrack support, and short battery life on typically mandatory controllers (unless you play next to an outlet or like using extension cords). Pointless nitpicking to you, I'd imagine, but that doesn't mean it doesn't matter to anyone else.
And they still used cheap labor to make Wii U's in a factory with working conditions that are questionable at best.
I'm no fan of Sony either or Microsoft either with their constant nickel-and-diming in the form of "DLC" that's actually just content on the disc that they decided to lock up and sell it for more while rubbing their customers' faces in it.

Call me pessimist if you must, but I seriously don't expect this decision to last. It's just way too tempting these days to exploit your customers.

Nintendo shouldn't have counted on all its fan buying another under-powered system that has more restrictions and less positive features than its competitors. You can only demand your fans play by your strict rules for so long before they eventually abandon you.

@odd69 I played the demo on PSN, then bought the game on GOG when it went on sale. I guess I sorta used Sony, but I don't feel too guilty since they're not always up front about their digital merchandise. Actually, I don't feel guilty at all. I want to screw Sony even more!

I think psychopaths are more likely to be into violent video games, not the other way around. If I was going to blame someone though, I'd blame people who hunt animals with guns because I am sick to death of people telling me it's not okay to blame them for anything. Yeah, I hate hunters! So let me get this straight. They can't use the title Killer Instinct because of a show that came out much later on and is now gone anyway?
The only blockage I could see from porting Killer Instinct 1 & 2 is that those games' developments were funded by Nintendo so Nintendo owns the right to those games' source code.

Hmm. A few years ago, I suggested to Nintendo including Kate Allen from F-Zero X in a future Mario Kart game. The answer was obviously no, though the recipient did seem mildly amused.

The VGAs are on a network that caters to young men with an immature frat boy mentality. I'm surprised there was anything Nintendo-related in that show.

How typical. Any time a Capcom game does well on a Nintendo system, it pops up elsewhere with new content. I don't mind if Capcom releases this game on PS3 (especially since I have one), but Wii U should definitely be considered as well. I may not be happy with the Wii U itself, but I do want it to get good games from third-parties.

Isn't it ironic that the one company still supporting the Wii Virtual Console once tried to crush Nintendo with arcade-perfect hardware? It probably would have worked too if the console and games weren't so damn expensive.

I know that's kind of a joke, but since I grew tired of his voice a long time ago, you would have given me a reason NOT to buy a Wii U game if you were being literal.

What can you expect when a system comes out that does not outperform 6-year-old hardware in every single way? I think Nintendo doesn't care much for for big third-party support because it has its own big-name games (and might see serious third-party titles as competition on its own platforms) and it knows there are millions of loyalists who will buy anything with Nintendo's name on it. I can't rely on a company that apparently thinks like that so I have no plans to get a Wii U, especially after reading report after report of bad news. Like I said before, Nintendo should have made a more powerful (if even more expensive) console and continued to support the Wii for a few more years and its more "casual" customers. I have no loyalty to Sony what-so-ever, but at least Sony had a good weaning strategy by slowly decreasing support for the PS2 when PS3 came out rather than dropping support for PS2 entirely.

Personally, I think it would be great idea for WayForward to make a Metroid game. WayForward has a history of making stellar 2D games long after nearly everyone else has gone almost completely polygonal. If it's not a side-scroller though, maybe WayForward should look at something else ... at least until it gets its feet a little wetter in the multi-scrolling genres.

Cool story, but you'll never get Sony or Microsoft to admit they made a mistake. As far as they and their fanboys/fangirls are concerned, they have superior motion controls. Personally, I got a PS Move about a year or two ago and I doubt I've used it for more than thirty minutes total.

I guess that's the price of licensing intellectual properties from other companies. A great many games cannot see the light of day again without going through a lot of red tape, otherwise I'm sure we'd see games like Batman (NES), Ducktales, and the arcade Dungeons & Dragons series on the VC, WiiWare, eShop, XBLA, Steam, and/or PSN stores. Tatsunoko vs Capcom was never really a favorite of mine, but it was nice to have a Capcom fighting game on the Wii ... and a Capcom fighting game within the last few years that didn't charge you any extra for stuff already on the disc.
