dkxcalibur commented on Video: Nintendo Minute Heads to Capcom For Rel...:

IMO Capcom is in dire need of guidance, and Nintendo would be great in this role. Obviously the Monster Hunter series and Phoenix Wright series are strong, but besides those series, almost everything else is sub-par. They have not released a "great" Resident Evil game since RE4 (I thought RE5 was okay). Lost Planet always had potential but they never lived up to the hype. The Bionic Commando game on the 360 was horrible. I know Dead Rising was popular but I never enjoyed those games. I did like what they did with Marvel Vs. Capcom and the Street Fighter games, but both games seemed to lack depth. Why is there no new Maximo, Mega Man, Power Stone, Okami, 1942 game????

@JJthe Texan
Same here! More mini game fun for me! Like others pointed out, at least it will count towards the DDP credit for me. I don't have a few other games but with the credit I'll receive from Wario, I can almost afford to DL the others with my credit. The only other game I might get would be DKCR 3D. I have the original but it would kind of be cool to have it on my 3DS too.

My plans for the future is to not register any of my products with Nintendo unless I see something that blows my mind or in case they do a promo like they did with Mario Kart 8 or 3DS/Pokemon. The only redeeming matter with the "Club" is that they ran both those great promos! They were really great promos! I took advantage of both and I'm very thankful Nintendo ran both.

I understand that Club Nintendo is free to join and receiving any prize at all throughout the year is a bonus, but I'm extremely disappointed with Club Nintendo in general. I have two accounts (don't ask, it's Nintendo), with one being platinum and the other gold. I got two posters for a game I'm not into, and a pouch????? I was looking forward to the Platinum/gold rewards because in years past the prizes have been good. I was wrong. While I'm not 100% disappointed with the DL only prizes (I'll find something I don't own on the list) I really feel like they could have included a more balanced line-up or just gave eshop credit. Why not eshop credit!!!!!! In fact I wouldn't mind if they got rid of Club Nintendo and the Digital Promo and just rewarded everyone with eshop credit that they could use on whatever game they choose. It would be like the Digital Promo only you wouldn't have to only DL games on the Wii U.

My older son and I both played it at Dave & Busters. I honestly think Mario Kart 8 is the better game by a mile. While it's cool to see and play this in the arcade, I would rather play my Wii U and Mario Kart 8 @ home. We waited in line to play it and it reminded me of other arcade racers but with Mario. It wasn't horrible, it just wasn't Mario Kart.

Ranting, cheering, speculating, yelling, is what Smash character reveals are all about. Nintendo knows this. The hype is good for them. It's part of the community at this point. Plus it's fun to express your thoughts about the game, whether they be negative or positive.

rjejr is my hero! I agree 100% and I couldn't have said it better. Seems like a little too much swords. I don't hate the new additions, I even like the series, I just wish for more variety. Hopefully the Ice Climbers come back!

I own but have yet to play Fire Emblem on the 3DS but I have played other games in the series. I really enjoy them. However, I think there is now too many characters from the series in Smash. In Brawl, I always thought that Ike and Marth were always too similar. Anyways, I would rather have Wario, Ice Climbers, or someone else that is new to the series then two more FE character....but I would also be okay if Falco wasn't in the game as he's another Fox clone.

dkxcalibur commented on Rayman Trophy Revealed For Super Smash Bros. O...:

After more thought, I really think he's the next character. They'll show some new footage of a battle and then the Rayman trophy will show up. It will animate as Rayman is disappointed he's only a trophy and then the "New Challenger Approaching" flashes and he's in the fight.

Can't wait to see who the new character is. I thought there was a very strong chance that Rayman was the new challenger. This now has me scratching my head a bit. Is this a trick or is Rayman seriously just a trophy? I guess we'll know soon enough. I love surprises.....this is Christmas in July!

I will say that IMO Rayman would be great in Smash. I really think his last two games don't get enough credit. They really are on par with DKC:TF and New Super Mario Bros. U. I won't say they're better but they are right there. His move set would be interesting too.

I can't believe Captain Falcon isn't in this game yet but Bayonetta would not surprise me either. So those two would be safe bets. I would however prefer it to be some Nintendo character that we have not seen in a while like Mike Jones or maybe the dog from Duck Hunt.

Nothing for me this week. The Wii U eshop games don't do it for me and I already own Tomodachi Life. I may however download something previously released because I have $10 in digital deluxe promo codes screaming to be used.....Scram Kitty, Earthbound, or a GBA game perhaps.

@LittleIrves
I agree 100%. I received this game as a gift. I didn't even want the game but since it was a gift, I played it and gave it a chance. I've played everyday since I got it. You definitely have to play it a couple hours to get into it. I tend to play it in half hour sessions and it's great.

I'm a little confused about how you get the Panda Suit. I have the retail version, I then gave my two demo codes to my son and nephew. My son unlocked the Panda Suit in his demo, but I never received it in my game. Can someone tell me what I'm not doing or what I'm missing? My son has since downloaded the full game.

dkxcalibur commented on Guide: Forming Your Own StreetPass Meet-Up Group:

I doubt this would work in my area (South/Central PA). My oldest son just started Swimming competitively and at every meet, there are tons of kids playing their 3DS systems but we have only received 2 street passes. I have come to the conclusion that many people do not know how to use their 3DS to the fullest. When we go to the local malls, we're lucky if we get 1 street pass. Thankfully their are many Mcdonalds, Burger Kings, and Ruby Tuesdays in my area. I personally love the streetpass features and I'm looking forward to Tomodachi Life picking up in popularity. I actually thought about starting a 3DS club at the local library for kids in an attempt for my two sons to meets some other kids their age with similar interest....video games.

I can't believe Capcom can't make it work with Street Fighter, Resident Evil, Monster Hunter, and Dead rising. I know they have soooo much more but you would think those 4 games alone would bring in a descent amount of cash. Mismanaged for sure.

.....really who cares though. Video games rule! Play what you want on whatever system makes you happy. We picked up our Wii U this past Holiday season among groans of the Wii U failing. I justified our purchase based on 3D World, Kart, Kong, and Smash. Anything in addition to these games is a bonus. Right now, I'm very very happy with those "bonus" games.

I'm currently content with my Wii U, 360, and 3DS. That combo seems to cover me. I would imagine that I will pick up a One or PS4 at some point. I'm not the biggest Sony fan but the Order game looks fantastic. Xbox has Forza though!

My gamepad only works in the room in which the system is located. If I take it into other rooms it starts to get laggy. I am refering to the reach of the Gamepad to the Wii U, not my internet connection which works great in every room of my house. My house has no lead in the walls and is fairly new with modern wiring, but maybe houses are built better where I live. My house definitely does not have lead pipes?????

dkxcalibur commented on E3 2014: Splatoon Will Offer Team-Based Ink-Sp...:

@MadAdam81 Good point. I never thought about it like this because I always got excited when I unlocked something new because it would often change the way I setup my loadouts. I'm not completely against Splatoon, there hasn't been enough detailed yet, but my first impression was that it doesn't seem to have a lot of depth. Other 3rd person shooters have single player and various other multiplayer variants. Maybe Splatoon will have some other modes as well. We'll see.

@rjejr I'm in the same boat. I have the most points I'll probably ever have and nothing I really want, and the points expiring in less then a month. I think I'm getting the Mario 3DS case and one of the Kirby games I guess. I was hoping that the 3DS base would make a return.

dkxcalibur commented on E3 2014: Nintendo Life's E3 Reaction - Live!:

I was disappointed a little to be honest. The Yoshi and Kirby games do not interest me at all. I'm kind of interested in Captain Toad and Splatoon. The Captain Toad levels in 3D World were fun but I can't imagine a full retail game which has me believing that it's a eshop only game. Splatoon doesn't seem to have the depth to keep me coming back for more. I'm really excited about Mario Maker. The 8 year old me has been dreaming about this game since he was hand drawing Mario Levels on paper. On paper it seems like a lot of games but in reality it's not much at all considering that some of these games will get pushed into 2016.

I thinks it's a stand alone for sure, but is it a full retail or a eshop only game? I'm thinking it could go either way. I'm interested for sure. I liked the 3D World levels except that sometimes the gamepad camera didn't work as well as I would have liked. I often just used the control stick to aim the camera where I wanted to.

So the window between the two games is going to be a month? I can't imagine the Wii U version coming out later then Thanksgiving in the US. They're going to want both out before Black Friday and the crazy Holiday shopping season starts.
