If this does come to NA, I'll download ALBW for sure. I missed out on it when it first came out and got caught up in a few other games. I'm about to the point that I'm ready for a new 3DS game though so this could be the one.

dkxcalibur commented on Nintendo Selects Range on 3DS Has a Handsome P...:

@ShanaUnite I like Starfox because it's a nice "pick up & play" experience. It's not a game that will take days to beat, but more like hours; but once you're done you'll want to replay to figure out the different paths and beat your high score. It's kind of an old school arcade experience.

dkxcalibur commented on Custom Range Blaster And Custom E-litre 3K Sco...:

I don't care for either type, however the last time that I posted on here saying I didn't like a specific gun type (splatling gun) others quickly changed my opinion.

I'm still playing it when I get a chance. Actually, isn't it a Splatfest this coming Saturday? I hope to jump on for a few matches on Saturday....representing planes!

dkxcalibur commented on Review: Chibi-Robo!: Zip Lash (3DS):

When this was announced, I questioned why move the series to a platformer style of play. I always thought the original style was unique. This just seems like Nintendo came up with a basic platformer and slapped in Chibi-Robo.

dkxcalibur commented on Voice Actors Union Authorises Strike Action Wi...:

@PlywoodStick While you bring up great points, some that I didn't think about, I still question what would happen if every profession organized and went on strike? When does it stop? The situation I described to you from my own point of view did not put the non-union workers in any danger. The human body is actually capable of working for 2 hours believe it or not. How do I know this? Because the non-union workers were co-workers & friends, and they complained that they had to stop work because of the union workers too many times. The union workers held up my co-workers on multiple occasions that ended up screwing them in the long run. Instead of being able to work efficiently they were forced into unnecessary delays.

I don't think anyone minds when unions fight for unsafe conditions, it's when unions are clearly fighting for greed that angers people. We're not talking about coal workers that are being exploited, we're talking about "voice actors" that are complaining about reading lines for one day! There are many many professions that talk for the most part of their work day....what if they all go on strike?

dkxcalibur commented on Voice Actors Union Authorises Strike Action Wi...:

@TheJudge I agree 100%. I've seen union workers side by side with non union workers doing the exact same type of work and from my own personal point of view, I saw the union workers stopping work every 45-60 minutes to take a 15-30 minute break. while the non union workers took a 5-15 minute break every 2-3 hours. Guess who got their work done first?

IMO unions were great during the industrial revolution when workers were spending 12+ hours in unsafe workplaces. Those days are long gone.

What would happen if other professions went on strike? What if nurses went on strike? or police? Every job has it's trials and heartache, but come on voice actors! You really think your work warrants more money? I'm sure it's tougher then I think it is but it's not like they couldn't audition people off the street and find replacements.

dkxcalibur commented on The Next Splatfest in North America is About H...:

I hate both! I wish they had three this time with trains/light rail being options.

I've commuted to work for over 10 years of hellish traffic and this has killed my once love for driving. Plus it drives me crazy when I share the roads with people who drive poorly. Once I'm home and on "country" roads, I actually like driving though.

On the other hand, I appreciate the fact that planes get you from one point to the next faster. However, I'm never comfortable on planes. I'm a taller person so I'm always dealing with the person in front of me who needs to lean their seat back.

But when it comes down to it, I would rather be able to travel to another location in a few hours instead of an entire day.

dkxcalibur commented on Nintendo Drops Out of Interbrand 'Best Global ...:

@MJKOP I disagree. I believe that every single one of the brands shown in the image above are more recognizable "globally" then Nintendo....but this is my opinion.

I also don't believe that there's anything wrong with this. It just means that Nintendo has some work to do. There's nothing wrong with admitting you failed or that you can get better at something, it's how you choose to move forward and improve that counts.

dkxcalibur commented on Rumour: Mii Fighter amiibo Might Be a Toys "R"...:

I'm cool with this as my local Toys "R" Us is really great about only allowing one amiibo per customer.

My wife picked up Captain Falcon, Greninja, & Lucario on Friday @ Toys "R" Us but she called before she went in. The lady told her that it was only 1 amiibo per customer. My wife called me back upset, thinking that she could only buy 1 amiibo. I calmly explained to her that the person meant 1 of a certain type of amiibo per customer, and I explained to my wife why I support this.....and then everything worked out.

So, GO TOYS "R" US for Amiibo!!!!!!!

dkxcalibur commented on Nintendo Drops Out of Interbrand 'Best Global ...:

@rjejr I think you nailed it. Nintendo has not done a good job with anything besides their games. The opportunities are there to produce great TV shows, movies, toys, ex; but they just don't embrace these opportunities. They actually have improved their figures from figures that do nothing (basically plastic figures) to figures that can be played with and posed. I always thought the kinex line of Mario stuff was really cool, but let's face it, it's not Lego. But this is just my opinion. I feel that if they produced a quality Legend of Zelda movie that it would do really really good. If they created a quality Mario animated movie, it would do great. All this would improve the brand. I think I said this in another post recently but look what Disney has done with the Marvel's huge now. It was always a popular brand but what Disney has done with it has multiplied it's popularity even more.

dkxcalibur commented on NOA Announces Coming Restock of Old amiibo:

I read the comments under the original Nintendo post and some people were claiming that their local Toys "R" Us had already received stock of these Amiibo. I can't confirm if these comments are true or not though.

dkxcalibur commented on Analysts Wonder If Super Mario Can Save Ninten...:

@Nico07 While I agree that creating levels on mobile device (phone & tablets) may be okay, playing those levels is a completely different topic. I too own Super Mario Maker and while I love creating levels, ultimately I love playing levels even more. Have you ever tried playing a good platformer on a cell phone or tablet? I have, and I have no desire to play games that require precision on a mobile device. But this is just my opinion. If they were to create games for mobile devices, I would be okay with it as long as it didn't negatively harm the Nintendo console games.

dkxcalibur commented on Analysts Wonder If Super Mario Can Save Ninten...:

Of course Nintendo's portfolio translates well to mobile games! The games and franchises that Nintendo has translates into everything when the time is spent creating a quality product. However, there's only so much you can do in a mobile game.

I personally think the area they need to concentrate more on is the film industry. Mario could be a hugely popular and profitable film if the correct studio, writer, and director were to work on it. The same can be said about Donkey Kong, Metroid, and The Legend of Zelda. Just look at how much revenue the comic book industry has made in the last 10 years because of their comics to films have worked out great. The same could happen for Nintendo.

dkxcalibur commented on Retailers In North America Merge Wii U & 3DS L...:

Wow more "no news" for today! Is this really a big deal? All the Sony stuff is together is the Microsoft stuff. What other options do stores have when the NFC figures take up full rows? DI, Amiibo, Skylands, & now Lego; they demand more space because they sell.

dkxcalibur commented on Video Game Voice Actors Contemplate Strike Act...:

Every job had it's trials and heartache but when it comes down to it, it's all about how many people on the planet Earth can do that job that dictates the pay amount.....usually. Pro athletes get paid what they do because not everyone can throw a baseball 98 mph, or place a ball in the upper 90 every time they shoot a soccer ball, or run down a running back that is 70lbs lighter then you. Other jobs are similar. Doctors save lives and it takes a special person to be away from their family and to study as much as they do. Voice acting though? Come on! I often think why studios and developers pay celebrities to do voice work when they could easily audition people for the parts and find someone unknown to do the same quality work for cheaper; and then put that money towards something else. I love his board game show he does but I don't like him. He's by far the worst thing about the show. I only watch it because I like his guest and the overall format of the show.

dkxcalibur commented on Review: Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer (...:

@rjejr Wow, you beat me to the punch. I was thinking the exact same thing. We've purchased the last two Animal Crossing games because we bought into the hype and both times we failed to get into the game, and both times we felt regret after buying. I like the presence of Villager in Smash and the AC track on Mario Kart 8....and the puzzle in Mii Plaza is cool with it being a snapshot of all the characters. I just don't care for the games.

dkxcalibur commented on Konami Denies That It Is Walking Away From AAA...:

I can't believe companies have not approached Konami about buying their IPs. Of course maybe they have but it's not made public. Nintendo fronted the money for Bayonetta 2 to be made, why not front some money for Konami to produce a game exclusive to a Nintendo system.

dkxcalibur commented on This Is The Last Real Console Cycle, Proclaims...:

I'm fully aware of who he is and of his past interviews/articles, but I read through the article anyways. I think the one thing that these "experts" miss is that the dedicated gamers don't want to play smartphone games. Don't get me wrong, not all smartphone games are horrible but I think we can all agree that they are not typically the deepest gaming experiences. There's only so many "puzzle style, time killing games" that you can play before it get's repetitive.

This brings me to my next point, PC gaming. I don't do PC gaming, although I'm not against it either. I think the reason I've never got into it is simply because I've never owned a machine powerful enough to play the games I wanted to play. All I know, is that for me, consoles seem to be cheaper then buying a powerful enough PC for me to game on. I will personally buy a console in the next generation. Now the question will be which company will get my support. Also, when Nintendo's NX comes out, will it be considered current gen or next gen? Will it be on par or a slightly better then the Xbone & PS4 or will it be beyond those two systems? I guess we'll find out eventually....until then, I'll be enjoying the great games that are currently available.

dkxcalibur commented on Miyamoto: Star Fox Zero Has Been Delayed, "I A...:

I personally like that they have chosen to put more time into making it a better game. I patiently await it's arrival, while I continue to play MH4U, Mario Maker, & now maybe Xenoblade or Yoshi. However, I think this will hurt the sales for this game greatly. I believe that this game would have made it onto many kid's Christmas list this holiday season.

dkxcalibur commented on Splatoon's Hammerhead Bridge Map Opens For Bus...:

I too have had good luck with connection issues. Actually I've yet to experience lag. I have had a few battles and people have dropped out.

Anyways, the new map looks cool but looks cosmetically similar to what's already available. I'm hoping for something completely different in the future.

dkxcalibur commented on Super Mario Maker Makes its Way to Super Smash...:

It looks like a lot of fun to play, but I doubt I'll download it. I haven't been playing Smash as much anymore. I picked up Ryu and his level but haven't played it much since.....that was back in June! There's just too much awesome gaming and not enough time.

dkxcalibur commented on Tatsumi Kimishima Named As New Nintendo President:

@Einherjar I agree about the "new" 3DS. I have one only because we were in the market to buy a third 3DS when it was announced. I do love the improved 3D and right analog stick is awesome in games like MH4U, but I really thought we would see a few more games that would take advantage of the extra power.

dkxcalibur commented on Feature: Nintendo Life's Top 10 Super Mario Pl...:

Wow, I can't believe any of the "overrated" comments about any of the Mario games. IMO, they're all great games that I have fun playing and have fond memories of when I'm done.

Hard to control Mario in Sunshine??? Really? I had absolutely no issue with controls. I think it has the best story from a Mario game.
3D World....overrated??? Not for me. That game was a blast, both single player and with friends.
The Galaxy games also overrated??? Look how unique they are to gaming. The graphics, the unique gameplay, the controls were spot on, and the music is awesome.
Even the "New" Super Mario Bros. series of games is good. They don't really do anything unique but they are fun to play. The original New Super Mario Bros. on the DS still gets played regularly at my house. It's got fun levels and mini games area actually good....Mario Party should take notes.

Anyways, the list is good. I may tweak it a bit, but it's a very good list.

No lawsuit, calm doooooown!

This isn't a big deal. This isn't going to take anything away from Nintendo. The people who want to buy Splatoon are still going to buy it. This will not change anything. My only fear is that people who have not played the game may think that it's "just like Splatoon" thus giving Splatoon a bad impression.

dkxcalibur commented on Video: We Look at Every Single Mystery Mushroo...:

My wife and sons hit up Target before school this morning. They picked up Super Mario Maker, the Mario Rubix cube, the $5 Target gift card, and a Dr. Mario Amiibo. My oldest son was looking for the retro Mario Amiibo but our Target only go 2 total, and the two people who got them, were waiting since 2am! I also wanted a Ganondorf Amiibo but they were sadly gone. They did have Olimar and Zero Suit but I'm not interested in those at the moment. I may regret not picking up Olimar.
