If all the devs are looking at the Switch as a portable console then I think it will suffer in the long run. I see the Switch having the same fate as the Wii. Meaning it will sell good, but the games that come to the system might not be the same as for the other consoles. I know they all have different specs, but showing the Switch port as different or inferior might hurt.
and this is why nintendo has been getting no money from me these past couple of years. I'm sorry but Nintendo has done this sort of thing one too many times. Why purchase another system that plays the same games. Plus the switch is a portable console or what ever they are marketing it as this day. I wouldn't be surprise if some time in 2018 a new updated switch will be announced. smh.
classic marketing move. Now the Snes mini has been announced. smh. $60 for an emulator. I feel sorry for the people who paid a premium price for the NES mini. Or maybe not. Noobs.
It always seems as if nintendo is a half step behind the rest of the industry when it comes to home consoles. This console needed a top of the line processor and graphics inside of it. The last gen processor can only be good for a year but can't see it contending into 2018 and 2019. What the joy cons can do are impressive, but devs will be hard pressed to release big budget games two years from now. Plus the Xbox Scorpio is coming out later this year, and early reports are saying that it is taking nothing for granted.
@faint i do know about E3 and what I was saying is that they show games that they showed when revealing the Wii U. They have the apple motto with the smiling faces and the different colors in their ads and on their box art. Nintendo needs to know that they are other players in the game except for Sony and Microsoft.
The switch to me is a Wii U 2.0. You can take it with you and play it off of the TV but you could do the same with the Wii U with some limitations. They still have some type of motion controls, which isn't a bad thing. 1-2 switch looks okay but I wouldn't pay more than $10 for it. The price of the pro controller is absurd. The 3rd party games aren't there yet. Nintendo fans been calling for a Metroid games since the Wii and still no sign of it. Zelda is great, but everyone wants a new hard hitting Metroid game. Now that would be a console seller.
EA is like Ubisoft when it comes to Nintendo. You can't believe a word they say. The Switch does not need something different, it just needs a solid game with solid controls. No water down crap. Im tired of all the buzzwords that don't mean anything.
When Nvidia announced their own gaming machine I was like wtf. How could Nvidia bring out a gaming machine while teaming up with Nintendo on the Switch console. It also sucks that the Switch is sporting old hardware. Cloud gaming is the future and it should be here rather soon. Nintendo could pave the way with cloud functionality in the switch. Have the power be in the cloud could help push the limits to the games. But we all know that Nintendo won't do it.
@beazlen1 your right that nintendo needs to advertise. They need to advertise the big and small games on their system. Advertising goes a long way and someone needs to tell Nintendo that the old way of thinking is over.
Nintendo has a habit of being in its own way. Meaning they wait too late to strike and when they have a gold mine they seem to hold it back in one way or the other. The switch needs to have efficient stock for the demand and it will need a killer app. Mario Kart just won't do. They need Zelda and also a Metroid game in the first year in my opinion. They are four contenders in this market and Nintendo cannot afford to slip up continually. Plus going with an older chip model will not help at all. They need new integra chip inside of that unit.
the 3ds and now the Switch will have touch screens, they use cartriges, and they are both portable. I don't see the 3ds striving based on the Switch merging into the 3ds lane. It's still hard to see how they will make both consoles work together.
Metroid Prime is the only real choice here. Why in heck is Nintendo not pushing Metroid more, which has had a stellar amount of games from the past. This franchise is right for the pickings and if Nintendo doesn't put out a proper Metroid game for the NX I will never come to understand their thinking. Kid Icarus for the 3DS had the most frustrating controls I have seen in a long time. I could never get into the game with such hand cramping controls. Let's hope Nintendo pushes its titles and open up to multiple devs. Look at the PC. It has big and small games that are fantastic.
nintendo struck lightning with the Wii, and couldn't do the same with the Wii U. The NX doesn't have to be comparable to the other offerings but it must be unique. Nintendo has to actually release zelda, metroid, f-zero, something fresh and new. Nintendo has so much IP's and they are getting the title of a company that just rehashes games every generation. I'm sorry but with so many hardware choices and the PC market with steam has given nintendo more competition. Nintendo just can't give buzzwords anymore, or catchy lines, they have to give the gamers GAMES and they will hopefully buy it.
how do you appeal to someone who has a ps4 , xbox one or pc. if nintendo releases more of its ip's such as metroid or fzero maybe that will sway gamers to take a look. zelda by itself won't cut it. when there are dark souls, overwatch, cod nd battlefield on other platforms why would gamers switch. I know yall will say that these games are crap but they sell in the millions on other platforms. so create a platform that is truly powerful and creative and developers and gamers will flock to it.
Gamers for years have been crying out for a proper Metroid game. They've been calling our for F-Zero and other Nintendo IP's. I'm sorry but Ubisoft can keep their Just Dance. Sound bites are pointless. This week Sony did a great job at showing actual games. Yes Sony showed games and it actually worked for them. Zelda however great it may look is just one game. Gamers deserve more than talk from Nintendo execs. Why should gamers settle for a Nintendo platform that only have 2 big games that can't be found on other platforms. With Microsoft focusing on PC gaming Nintendo will have to up their game. Graphical power is real and its here. Meaning today its about the GPU to push the gaming beyond.
For all of you who thinks that by nintendo censoring this scene in a game is just because of public pressure then this is very troubling. This kind of scene should never be in a game. You cannot defend the drugging of a girl/woman in any game, no matter where its being released. Homophobia, racism and sexism should not be present in current games. But I know this post will get down vote so go ahead.
SMH. This is what's wrong with the gaming industry. Hey Nintendo why are you making women cover up in the western version. Is it because you think they will be backlash, or that the outfits on these female characters have been wrong in the first place. I for one do not want tits and ass showing in my games. Its the context of which it is shown. Who in their right mind would run around in a bra and underwear in a fight. This same thing happens in other entertainment. Its sexist all around.
Nintendo have seen growth over the past two years and this year isn't even over yet. Nintendo is looking strong at the moment and their business model might be working in the long run.
I've been saying the same thing for years. Nintendo has some great IP's but they only push a selected few. People have been calling for a new metroid for years, not some watered down four player themed metroid game they just showed at E3. Thats why I am good with my PC
No. Nintendo has given up a golden chance to make the wii u a success. They should have pushed $$$ behind it but they failed to capitalize on the wii success. I understand that they use the Apple model but they got to shift away from that. Too many players in the game now, with PC gaming making a big push. PC gaming have no handcuffs and different games comes out for it weekly. Nintendo got to broaden its spectrum and then again it will be successful
disappointing to hear. what happened to the more open embracing nintendo. There is this thing called steam where all games are welcomed. nintendo is just losing money stopping games from releasing on its system. shame it took so long for this game to be approved
Nintendo needs to keep good relationships with indie developers. Nintendo in the past have been very crappy with their relationships with other devs. Nintendo can't be all talk and no show because too many players are in the arena, such as PC, Sony, Microsoft, Nvidia, and many others.
Gunman Clive for the 3ds is a must have. Its not a very difficult game, you have to use your brain a little. Its a fun game overall, the music is good and not annoying. this game still has me smiling, as i have not finished it yet. The art style is great also. Im very satisfied about the creativity in this game.
what ever happened to nintendo's quality control. shovelware at its best right there. my daughter who is three wouldn't even play these games for 5 minutes.
well if digital copies are the future then i guess thats okay. i just don't want to pay for the same game over and over. They have to be a way to transfer games you pay for from system to system. steam is already big on pc, and you really can't find physical copies of pc games.
there is nothing wrong with that music. maybe it won't be throughout the whole game, who knows. The rpg elements might just work in this game. but the action looks great in the trailer.
Now this is the type of game i would see being on the wii u console. playing that game just on the game pad alone would be great. A great game doesn't have to have ultra graphics, just needs some good tlc
now this game looks fricking awesome. that just took me back to the great classic gaming days. im definitely picking up this game, but it might be on pc. i can't wait to play this game.
ninty needs a killer app right now for the wii u. they have zelda, metroid, mario, f zero, smash bros, pokemon. they are just taking too long with their games. take the reins off. lets get something hard hitting, something dark. the 90's aren't here anymore and your fan base has gotten older. they have millions of people out there that would love to see something new and fresh from ninty.
The question is right now is why do i need a wii u. I know some of you are gonna say for this and that game. But really nintendo is pushing nintendo right now, and maybe a few other non nintendo titles. Its just taking too long for a killer wii u app to come out. I don't own a ps4 or xbox one, im rocking with the 3ds and pc right now. the consumer is much smarter now. it starts with smart marketing and nintendo has brand recognition. they just need to deliver a home console without all the restraints.
nintendo just needs to buy sega. or better yet get some indie dev to support your system more. a great app for $5 for the wii u gamepad would be amazing.
Now this is a smart move by nintendo. buying back your own stock for little money than you may have sold it for at first. then in 6 months are so they could sell it at a higher price. or control their own destiny more. very smart move. now nintendo just start investing in some r&d...
nintendo was behind the curve on the cartride vs disc. then it went its own way with the wii. some things are hit and miss. before the wii came out nintendo had a code name of "revolution" and if they would have named the wii u the revolution then i think things would be a little better. nintendo has to listen to devs also and work with devs. the 3ds has a lot of dev support. nintendo can still help the wii u go big. the wii u isn't dead at all, it just needs a boost in software. the pad isn't a weakness, its the wii u's biggest strength..
@TheRealThanos.. im the real and only thanos here. but i like your argument, i cant believe people are voting for all these games. i would give anything to see another starfox, a new starfox i may add on the wii u.

im tired of seeing just dance adverts or smiling families playing the wii u with big smiles. i wanna see a beast of a game. if they wanna see some sales, then they have to put out some games. plain and simple
The wii u hasn't failed, its only year two. one hit and this system will be pushing out units. more marketing, more indie titles, and more word of mouth. Its always doom and gloom for nintendo. not everyone hits a homerun everytime up at bat. give the wii u some time.
this is year two for the wii u. but its not dead yet. year one was ruff and i blame that on nintendo. better marketing would have been good. better name to separate it from the wii. i don't believe that people mistake it as just an add on to the wii, but you have to differentiate it a bit. the game pad is good i bet. big titles takes time to come out. they should have put that wii money into r&d. but like i said they have indie devs on their side, and they just need that one hit to get the wii u name out there. A $5 game can go a long way as we have seen in this time. 2 months ago it was the ps4 and xbone. now its the steam machines. the wii u name has to get out there, and get people talking. big games yes will help and more advertising. so iwata shouldn't step down.. not at all
moon for the ds was a great game. i hope it can make its way to the 3ds. these are the types of titles that should be hitting the wii u. but good to see this game back to renegade kid.

A $5 game can go a long way as we have seen in this time. 2 months ago it was the ps4 and xbone. now its the steam machines. the wii u name has to get out there, and get people talking. big games yes will help and more advertising. so iwata shouldn't step down.. not at all
Re: Renegade Kids Regains Publication Rights to Moon
moon for the ds was a great game. i hope it can make its way to the 3ds. these are the types of titles that should be hitting the wii u. but good to see this game back to renegade kid.
