Devil's Third, Xeno Chronicles X, and Star Fox Zero - this is all I need to make me happy with my decision to sell my Wii U for twice its retail price last year.

Remember when we would play Goldeneye on N64 and you couldn’t care less when the game would occasionally drop down to 10fps because the game itself was SO good and OCD dreck like Digital Foundry didn’t yet exist? Those were good times. NMH3 is a fantastic game. Play it.

In the US Pacific Northwest you'd never know any of this has been discontinued. They're not only everywhere, they're usually on sale.

Probably close to a tie between Green Hill Zone 1 and SMW World 1-1. I got both pretty close together and continue to play through them every few months to this day.

If this is even half as good as Fata Morgana was I will be playing straight through it day one.

Crackdown 3 (XB1) this last generation was my jam. I've 100%'d that game at least a half dozen times. I love it.

Prior to that I'd say Project X Zone and 7th Dragon III Code: VFD on 3DS. Neither got good press but they're my two favorite 3DS games for some reason.

If you want to go back a bit, I was a huge fan of Sonic R on Saturn and way too many Master System games to count.

Bought this based on my the trailer and absolutely think 9/10 is fair. Brilliant game and I’m not a metroidvania or souls fan really

Alex Kidd love has nothing to do with Master System vs NES or any of that, it really comes down to "Do you love a great game with some challenge?" If yes, it's a classic. This version is nice, but it's not the original. Wii Virtual Console, Xbox 360, etc. players can still play the best version around without wasting $20 on this one.

Strange. I waited decades to play this despite owning the original Xbox disc forever. Now that I have the overpriced remaster I’m struggling to figure out why everyone loved it so much.

Love Fitness Boxing 2. Love Ring Fit Adventure too but Fitness Boxing 2 has really stuck around through covid thick and thin.

The House in Fata Morgana is the best visual novel on Switch to date, and there have been some great ones.

Sold my Wii U and over 90 Wii U games for a small fortune when my income was reduced due to COVID last year. I can't say that I really miss it as I hadn't plugged the thing in for about a year, but I do regret it somewhat. Xeno X and Devil's Third feel like little holes in my backlog now that might never get filled, and I'm not happy about that.

If Nintendo could simply read the internet and see how their fans feel, the world would be a better place.

Switch is scarce in the greater Seattle metro area. Very few stores have them and Amazon quotes a week or more to ship one. Switch Lite on the other hand is everywhere.

I really wish they'd have patched MK8 to have these sorts of events.

I agree with everything in this review except that I've opted to play it on Xbox Game Pass after having already bought it on my Switch. The in-game text is so small, and the font so awful, that I can't read it in handheld mode. I've yet to figure out why Switch devs don't compensate for handheld play with font resizing.

I didn't get into this series until IV on 3DS but I'm day one buying this on the eshop, no doubt.

I made it about 15-20 hours, somewhere in there. Just not for me. Literally everyone else that I know with a Switch is still playing it though, including no fewer than 3 people in my household.

Cue "disappointment" from entitled kiddies.

This game absolutely made the Direct for me. My favorite 3DS game ever. I've no idea why it's so appealing but I've already pre-ordered for Switch.

I never thought we'd get to 2021 and the music industry would still exist...and still suck as bad as they've ever sucked.

I played this on Game Pass a few months ago and really wanted to like it. I ended up exiting after about 4 or 5 hours. Too much backtracking and abysmal wayfinding kept it from being great.

It was brilliant on my PC. Brilliant again on my PS4. Brilliant a 3rd time on my Xbox One. I assume it'll be great on Switch but a 4th buy? Nah.

Credit where due though, I **did** consider it for a minute or two. It's that good.

I truly loved this game. It was such a surprise to see it published by Panic, creators of amazing Mac apps like Coda that I use every day, as well as locals here in Portland, Oregon.

Sat through an entire Nintendo Direct yesterday waiting for Bayonetta 3 news that never came.

Upside: OMG Splatoon 3!!!!

Downside: 2022....maybe.

Bought this earlier this week and absolutely love it. I definitely agree that it feels more like Fitness Boxing 1.5 than 2, but figured I really need the exercise now that my region is back in strict lockdown so it was worth it either way.

I would happily pass on every game on this list if we could have Xenoblade Chronicles X on Switch.

@Prizm Agreed. Bought it on Switch not realizing it was 30fps. Bought it later on sale for Xbox and deleted the Switch version. It's like a whole different game.

I own most of the games on this list and am ashamed to admit that I've played very few of them to date. It feels like for every dozen "instant indie classics" I buy, there's a AAA game that distracts me from playing more than a couple of them, and so the backlog grows. Good to know some of them are loved because quite a few of these were bought and then subsequently deleted from my Switch and forgotten about. Nice to have the reminder.

I put it squarely on Nintendo that this game was announced so early in its development. There wasn't a lot going on with Switch exclusives at the time so I think they dumped this and Metroid Prime 4 on us in the hope that we'd ignore the draught. I love the Bayonetta series so waiting isn't really that big of a deal for a specific game but the AAA releases for the Switch are noticeably thin if you don't count retreads like Mario 3D World (which I'm sure is great but I already played that game like 4 or 5 years ago).

I preordered it because I love the series but in hindsight, I have my doubts that I'll play it as I've never been a fan of the way NES-era games look. For whatever reason, I thought this was a Super Famicom title when I preordered.

Go ahead and troll me, I know my Nintendo history, I just avoided the NES era because everything always looked so bland and I was a SEGA person way back when.

Boy am I glad I own Super Mario Maker on a physical disc! Now I can play it forever, amirite?

Strongly disliked Hyrule Warriors, to the point where I almost didn't pick up Age of Calamity. I'm glad my gaming OCD took hold in this particular case; it's easily my favorite Warriors game ever.

Wow. So THAT's why Second Encounter seems so foreign to me! I was a huge fan of SS2 way back in the day and thought something was awry with my memory. Good to know.

I skipped this on Switch and opted to get the Xbox version because I expected it the Switch would have issues. To be fair, the 'remaster' bit is somewhat overstated in my opinion. The games really don't look very current gen to me and come off like early Xbox 360 titles more than updates. Still, I'll always love them. I really would like to see a Complete/Definitive Edition with all of the games though.
