Reviews
Is it worth the hype?
Well, here we are. Eight months after The House In Fata Morgana's release, and six months since our first diary entry of "the game better than Breath of the Wild", it's finally time to actually, finally review it. Fata Morgana is an subject of bafflement, a tantalising enigma, and a frequent point of mockery, all because its...

Phew! It's been a heck of a week, hasn't it? It actually feels like springtime now at least, but our eyes are poised towards the summer with the slate of new release dates we've been handed. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 has been brought forward from September to July! Unprecedented stuff. Splatoon 3 also finally has a release date — a

The House In Fata Morgana Game Diary, Part 4
Writer's note: Although the previous diary entries have veered away from big spoilers for The House in Fata Morgana, this one does not, because it's hard to talk about the themes without specifics. Be warned! As a content warning, topics discussed in this piece will include trauma, gender, abuse, and...

The House In Fata Morgana Game Diary, Part 3
Writer's note: I will not discuss specific spoilers in this piece, because anyone who plays The House In Fata Morgana for as long as it takes to get to the twists deserves to have them preserved — but I will discuss the motifs that weave through the game, so be warned if you want to go into the game...
Soapbox It's The Summer Of Visual Novels On Switch, And It's Just The Beginning
I should probably learn to read
Visual novels. Are they games, or are they slideshows? Well, let's get one thing straight, because this is a soapbox: I personally don't particularly care. I enjoy an evening curled up with a good book, and likewise, I enjoy an evening curled up with a good visual novel on auto-play, occasionally unfurling my hand...
Feature Diving Deeper Into The Switch Game With A Perfect Metascore
The House In Fata Morgana Game Diary, Part 2
Well, that last House In Fata Morgana piece certainly blew up, didn't it? I wasn't expecting my diary entries to intrigue anyone except the people who already care about the game, but I guess that's what happens when you talk about the only Switch game with a perfect Metacritic score. If you haven't read...
Feature A Perfect Metascore? We Play The Switch Game "Better Than Zelda: Breath Of The Wild"
The House In Fata Morgana Game Diary, Part 1
This is going to take a little bit of explaining. There is a game called "The House In Fata Morgana" that first came out in Japan in 2012. It eventually trickled its way onto more platforms, including iOS, PS4, and 3DS, but it wasn't until 2016 that Western audiences were able to play it. And then, just...

About The Game
A gothic suspense tale set in a cursed mansion. 'The House in Fata Morgana' is a full-length visual novel spanning nearly a millennium that deals in tragedy, human nature, and insanity.
This version includes three games and more:
1: The House in Fata Morgana: the main storyline.
2: A Requiem for Innocence: a prequel shedding light on the origins of Fata Morgana’s terrible curse.
3: Reincarnation: a sequel featuring the central cast members reincarnated in the present day. *The part including voices*
4: Other additional short stories.

The House in Fata Morgana is the best visual novel on Switch to date, and there have been some great ones.
The main story is great per this review but the first DLC I cannot recommend as it’s basically a retelling of a story already detailed in the main game.
Not only is this the best VN I've ever read, it's the best work of fiction I've ever read.
Yes, the first half is a little slow, setting things up. But it's thanks to that setup that the next half is truly outstanding! I uglycried several times.
So glad Switch has all these neat visual novels. Hope we'll get more in the future like Fate/Stay Night.
What are the best visual novels on the switch?
