I agree with you.
I dont pirate currently.
My stupid Switch 1, PS5 and Steam libraries can prove that.
But with the direction all of this is going, it's something I may consider in the future.

Basically if games end up in the same miserable situation that streaming movies and tv shows are in, the seven seas will start to look a lot more appealing

For me it's a dissapointing middle ground from Nintendo with the problems of physical ownership without actual physical ownership.
Especially for games that could easily fit on a cart.
I've owned every Nintendo System since the Gameboy, I bought so many lesser versions of games on Switch to support physical ownership.
Now I'm in a situation where if I buy any Nintendo consoles in future it will be purely for their exclusives.
Or paying more attention to the "If buying isn't ownership, piracy isn't stealing" arguments

But I still think it's sad that no one cares.
Books, Music, TV, Movies have all gone digital, and not necessarily for the better.
We don't own homes, we're being pushed to rent.
AI is making device ownership unaffordable, with tech giants floating the idea of a future of renting "computing power" instead.

Companies like Hellofresh and other are trying to turn the food we eat into a subscription service.

This mass transfer of ownership has me worried for my kids' future.

And it's all Nintendo and GKC's fault....

I know you're not directing this question at me, but I hold similar views to OP so wanted to comment.
At that stage I personally will accept defeat and buy games digitally where the price, performance and visuals are best.
This will inevitably mean that if I continue buying Nintendo consoles it will nearly always be solely for their exclusives

@Grumblevolcano other platforms absolutely aren't safe.
There's plenty of PS5 games that dont include the full game already, especially when you start taking updates into account.
I personally dont like that PS5 games require full installation on the HD and the disc then becomes a key.
I know they run better that way though.
What I want is true physical.
Game is complete on cart/disc and runs directly from it.
But I'm an old (but still very handsome) man shouting at clouds and most people don't care.
Picked up MHS3 on Steam this week and enjoying it.

I'd have put up with frame dips if they had realeased this fully on a cart, but going with PC/Steam Deck for this one

In relation to these amiibo, I think Leon looks ridiculous, but I'll probably still get it. He starred in my two fave RE games (four faves, if I count the REmakes as seperate to the og's) so I'd love to have his amiibo in the collection

@Mr_Persona Can imagine they're ridiculous prices now.
I had to import Malzeno from the US, couldnt find any EU online retailers selling it.
Normally wouldnt go to that much effort but Rise was the first MH that "clicked" for me after a few tries with previous games.
Turned me into an MH fanatic

I hope you were able to get back on your feet okay after that.

I have to wonder, after the MK "Kollection", how full will the game card release be?
We might need to wait for reviews and a week or so after release to know for sure...

I've been waiting for the right time to buy and play that game.
If it's complete on a cartridge I'll buy and play it on Switch 2.

That's kinda the point with Androids

I want to see exclusives.
Multiplats don't interest me anymore for Switch.
I own an okay gaming pc and a Steam Deck.
I stuck with inferior Switch 1 ports last gen because at least i could own them physically on a cartridge.
Nintendo can't offer that anymore so I'll buy multiplats on Steam where i'll get better performance on the big screen and similar performance on the Steam Deck.

I bought the physical versions for Switch 1 so I could own the games physically properly, despite the downgraded visiuals and performance.
I was under the impression SE didn't do Switch 2 upgrade paths.
Strange that they have them for some but not others.

It's a good game that should have been great.
Some incredible moments dragged down by bafflingly bad decisions and half baked ideas.
Somehow, after all this time, it's clear that Retro needed WAY more time with this one.

Guess I'll buy this for Switch 2 since this is a rare third party release that has the full game on the cart

Apparently the "Finished" status on the product page only means that the "Design" is Finished.
This is nonsense.
I've asked how long till I receive my order and how do I request a refund

They sent me a steam key for the game to apologise last year.
But that's nit good enough.

I think you'll be pretty surprised by the amount you'll get out of the postgame.
Took me around 45 hours to 100% everything.

I'm a long time Pikmin fan and absolutely love this game
There's a very meaty post game after the credits roll, so meaty it feels like they hid half of the game behind the initial credits rolling, and there's some great difficulty in there

I wish Remnant 2 was selling better

I really hope this game does well.
I've been in love with the franchise since I first played New Play Control Pikmin 2 on the Wii.
I adored Pikmin 3 but found it to be very short and fairly easy.
This game is feeling a hell of a lot longer and there's some proper challenge in there too if you try and do everything.
I've always called Pikmin the best Nintendo Franchise that barely anyone has played.
Hopefully Pikmin 4 can change that.
It deserves to.

I'm a bit burned out on MK. I feel the games haven't progressed much from the excellent MK9 reboot.
But the early rumours of Homelander being included piqued my interest again. I adore that character from the show.
With this confirmation I will be buying MK1 and even if Homelander is a trash character I will play as him and only him.

With The MHR Sunbreak free dlc and my physical copy of Cult of the Lamb arriving last week I think this might end up on the backlog pile of shame for a while
