Re: Video: Is ARMS a 'Hardcore' Fighting Game?

I think it will sell amazingly, top the charts for at least a week. Pro Tournaments will pop up, as soon as some balances can be made.
The casual tournament scene will be massive, birthday parties, library clubs, all of that. Casual players will be much more prominent than in Splatoon, but Splatoon 2 will definitely give more to the competitive players. Matchmaking may end up hard for casual players if Nintendo doesn't have a good matchmaking system. As for myself, I think I'll be a casual/competitive mix.

@Danrenfroe2016 Well I'm not Japanese, but I do study the culture. In the aftermath of World War 2, Japan needed to re-coup, and they were in trouble because a lot of their people died in the war, and they spent a huge amount of money on it. They needed more money, but they couldn't get it through trade deals because, well they were just on the wrong side of history. So they needed more tax payers, but prior to that sex had been an extremely taboo topic, more so than maybe any other place in the world. As such, there was very low sex drive in men and women in the country, so the government funded initiatives to generate sex drive, one of which was erotic and suggestive entertainment. The effects of this are still here today, and that is what lead to such an erotic and sometimes very messed up pop culture in Japan today.

This makes me really sad. My Mom wanted this soooooo much. She wants it more than anything. I hope we can get one in the last shipment. I love my mom more than anything, and she hasn't wanted something this much in forever. F you Nintendo. F you. You can't seem to realize people want to buy your stuff, but we can't because of your stock policies.

@ProjectCafe Well, I don't necessarily fully agree with what I said here anymore, this was mostly the fact my parents are fundamentalist catholics.

Now I more so think it's women's choice, and we shouldn't just have every single female character sexualized.
There was the controversy over Smash 4 Zero Suit Samus being sexualized, but I just think it shows how badass somebody can be, and still be sexy. It reinforces how women have more to them than just big boobs and butts, and curvy hips.

See, it's funny. Because now-a-days the blocky prototypes show frequently in the video would be perfectly acceptable as graphics for a game, in the vein of indie games such as the recently released SUPERHOT. It's sad that such a great studio had to close, especially because the reason they closed was their undying dedication to creating a great Superman game.
