Re: Nintendo Sends Out Second Game-Key Card & Physical Game Survey

@electrolite77 Telling someone who doesn’t collect games that they shouldn’t buy and play a game now because they might not be able to play it in 20-something years will be met with a blank stare.
And others and I, whom collects game will give blank stare back. This is the same old troupe used over and over and it is getting old. That is the Publisher issue not Nintendo. This is the price we all pay for games we buy here today gone tomorrow. This is why FULL cart games are what's needed. And lots of exSD storage and internal expanded storage.

Re: Octopath Traveler 0 Has Been Rated For Switch And Switch 2

sethfranum

This game will be a big FAT "0" when it releases for me Bravely default already screwed us over already. There's no way that is bigger then CyberPunk2077 64gb cart....... If anything it will be Octopath 0 for Switch1...played on Switch2. They day they will regret ..... When they see PreOrders tank for Switch2 GKC they will learn really hard. Nintendo already sent 2nd survey out hiding "GKC" wording but those doing the survey knows this already and butte hurt the reviews heavy.....

Re: Nintendo Sends Out Second Game-Key Card & Physical Game Survey

sethfranum

The problem here is they don't give a Full physical version just Key-Card for the same game. But they it's just come to Publisher Greeds... They charge buyers full MSRP prices for Digital/Key-Card as though their is packing and middle man to sell the cart contents of which there is none for those product as opposed to Physical Full carts that could have extra stuff with them. That would be what your also paying Full cart prices for but Digital and Key-Card with no extra should be half of what Full Cart game cost.

Re: Nintendo Sends Out Second Game-Key Card & Physical Game Survey

sethfranum

@Mariotag Also, to the two discussing it, how would a used market for digital games even work? You can't buy digital secondhand...
Lest those saying go eShop forgets you buy AAA games are MSRP as though it was full cart in game case. They should cost half as much since there is no physical cart or case for the game. They charge buyers MSRP as though it's a FULL cart and case but there is nothing and "Key-Card" should cost half since it's not even the full game. Plastic cheap compare to the chipset but then why we pay MSRP when that shouldn't be a factor for eShop games to Key-Card should still cost less as your not getting FULL cart game.

@BloodWolfe ya that Dq3 upgrade but not for 1&2 is ridiculous and squeenix has now lost me completely as a customer. ***** game key cards, I'll never support those and any company releasing on those.
So true, all they had to disclaimer is state if the PreOrders don't qualify up to PreOrders before payment is taken then you will get the Switch 1 version and refund the rest of the payments. If they did a FULL cart Switch2 but couldn't fulfill the order then they could do that. No they are just Dumn and Greedy for doing that and it will bite them in the butte as is happening now.

@marandahir Don't worry I gave my Disdain for Key-Card and told them to make more sizes... The Fact they can now or show they are making more sizes - tell you this was a Nintendo Bonehead move.

Like they could make at least 16gb for Bravely and or have 32gb option then the 64gb tells they thought they could pull a fast one... the more they make or have made from other company whom makes for them the cheaper it is. That is simple market forces the more you get in bulk the less they cost. And since it's Nintendo you think people don't want that Physical option? Sure future way way in the forgotten future Digital is coming that how you keep companies in business making those physical carts for Switch. Do they not see how loosing manufactures of the Switch carts could cost them dearly down the line as to unemployed companies and employees cost us.

Re: Octopath 0 Is A Game-Key Card On Switch 2, And Square Enix Has "No Plans" For A Switch 1 Upgrade Option

sethfranum

Reaction to Game-Key Cards from players has been largely negative, although the option to get a physical copy of the Switch 1 game and then get the digital-only Upgrade Pack for Switch 2 was a compromise some were prepared to make. Zero chance of that here, it seems.
That's a understatement. The Zero chance is Octopath Zero SW2 will become a big "0"...............

Re: Octopath 0 Is A Game-Key Card On Switch 2, And Square Enix Has "No Plans" For A Switch 1 Upgrade Option

sethfranum

Those advocating that Key-Card is only choice but costing same or more the standard as MSRP. Tell us or show where your getting those figure of the actual cost of a 64gb Switch2 and why can't they make at least a 32gb Switch2 cart? No one has been able to reply to this when they keep harping "Key-Card". You would think they could provide us those figures??? And when DQ remake can get a upgrade to Switch2 you really have to ask....

Re: Octopath 0 Is A Game-Key Card On Switch 2, And Square Enix Has "No Plans" For A Switch 1 Upgrade Option

@Fragpiper The commentary on Game Key Cards in every story needs to stop. It had NO relevancy to this article.
Then why even mention it? By bringing it up constantly your keeping it alive? No it has all relevancy to the article and publisher showing how greedy they are. If BOTW/TOTK can can a upgrade what's stopping SQE from doing this? PURE BS is what I called this out.

Re: Octopath 0 Is A Game-Key Card On Switch 2, And Square Enix Has "No Plans" For A Switch 1 Upgrade Option

sethfranum

Posting on Bluesky, the publisher says that if you buy the Switch 1 version, you won't be able to upgrade to the Switch 2 version via an Upgrade Pack. This means Switch 2 owners wanting a physical copy of the game will be stuck between Switch 1 cart they can't upgrade and a Game-Key Card which — according to the official box art — will require a 5GB download.
What kinda 5hit crappola is this? Alot will wait til SQE goes out of business to even buy this crappola. Most won't go "Key-Card" without massive discounting of the game.

Another Bravely default II remaster "Debacle" all over again. If SQE thought posting on here were bad just look at BlueSky....

Re: NIS America: Trails Beyond The Horizon Switch 2 Game-Key Card Release Is "Most Beneficial Option" For Fans

sethfranum

@PixelVoyager The "no-cancel preorders" approach might seem logical but could backfire with customer relations. Many people would probably just skip preordering altogether if they can't cancel.
It will not backfire...as that is the disclaimer already. Those that want the physical will pay for it. You make is sounds like buyers are brain dead and on life support when making these decisions. They can give them options to go with standard Switch1 carts if they can't fulfill the Switch2 cart Preorder limits. The publisher still have that option so not sure why you think they can't do that. All they have to disclaimer is say if the Switch2 cart preorder don't match this limit then they would change to Switch1 cart versions. Company all over the world have disclaimers in their writings for that reason.

Re: Disgaea 7 Complete Lands Western Switch 2 Release Date

sethfranum

@Runex2121 What I am annoyed with though is that they think a 2 year old game that frequently sells for $20-$30 is worth $70 now.
That's why used games cost less they Digital did one even think of that. Digital stays the same regardless until the Publisher - took enough "BloodMoney"and then if they feel so they chose the price to sell it at. Physicals games used are determined by market forces Digital games have no Market forces to lower it's price. Your Digital Game 70$ 10 years ago is still $70 today so tell me whom determines the price it goes for now?

Re: NIS America: Trails Beyond The Horizon Switch 2 Game-Key Card Release Is "Most Beneficial Option" For Fans

sethfranum

@PixelVoyager their games on 64 GB cards with such high costs. The initial cost and risk would be too high for them.
Then PreOrder charge them accordingly and say can't be cancel should you pick this option - that's how to do business or do they not even know how to do their business? Game not even released and yet they can't figure how much a 64gb exSD Switch2 cart would cost. No, this is pure greed NISA games are sellers regardless. They just to GReedy or PURE LAZY to make the effort. They aren't a small "Indie"....
