@Roibeard64
Sonic the Comic was the best in the early days! Back then, they had stories for other franchises like Streets of Rage, Golden Axe, Shinobi, Echo the Dolphin, Kid Chameleon and Decap Attack. I'm probably forgetting a few. I loved how Streets of Rage was set ten minutes in the future. The most arbitrarily near future imaginable. I never had a Sega system, just a subscription to Sonic the Comic.
I'll have Super Mario All Stars 2. That's 64 and Sunshine remade and the Galaxy games in HD. New Super Mario All Stars. A bundle of the 4 games, all redone with the U Deluxe polish. And while I'm all it Super Mario All Stars: Worlds + Lands. Let them save the development cost on this one and port them as they are. The branding might be a bit confusing but Nintendo have form in that area.
@hadrian Wario All Stars is the trick I missed! Want!
Today is my birthday and I am finally starting Fire Emblem Three Houses, originally a Christmas present from my wife. Thanks for the 300 platinum points, Nintendo! You really shouldn't have!
@zitpig @dartmonkey Thank you guys. I check the site a few times a day but somehow missed the April reminder. I've not missed catching anything though. Time to start grinding clams to catch the golden trout!
You guys had an article at the end of March about what fish and bugs were about the expire. There wasn't one for April but please consider making one for May. They are really useful.
Theres another small change too. In the wardrobe, it used to say Tops, Bottoms, Dresses. That's changed to Dress-Up. I wondered why a fire fighters uniform was considered a dress.
Do we really have to click through 23 pages of discounts on the nintendo site now rather than just get the latest ones here? There can't just be two new discounts surely.
Said similar 6 years ago. And since then he's admitted that they were thinking about Smash 5 whilst working on the Wii U DLC. So I don't expect this is the end of Smash.
@mist Sonic is literally an illegal alien in America, being presented as the good guy. Seems pretty woke to me. Digging deeper, the bad guy is white. Commie agenda confirmed.
Call me spoilt but I think I'd prefer a remaster of the Wii Ghostbusters. Only briefly played it on PS3 and remember not enjoying it as much. Either way, Ghostbusters was my childhood and what I told people I wanted to be when I grew up.
I've come to realise that growing up loving Stunt Race FX is the reason frame rate has never bothered me. I've never understood the hate for 30fps. Saying that, I'd love to play a remastered Stunt Race. Just an improved frame rate and draw distance, with everything else left as it is.
I'm in a full family plan and was looking at how many great snes games I got this morning for that price. It wouldn't surprise me if Nintendo have realised how much they have devalued their legacy content with their online service. Maybe a better idea would have been to continue the Virtual Console but release the games at prices you can't say no to. I'd have bought every NES games released so far at £1.00 each. Every SNES game at £2.00 each. It would have cost me more in the long run but I feel this would have kept their fans happier.
Now we just need DOOMs 5 to 63 and we will have them all! Just played through the first episode of DOOM and loved it. I'd love to see Quake and Duke Nukem on Switch, completing the unholy trinity of mid 90s FPS classics.
"these new controllers will presumably carry the same components as the originals and we've had no end of trouble with our Joy-Con analogue sticks. Who knows - perhaps this was all part of the plan to have us throwing down $79.99 ever year or so." Maybe not the worst Nintendo controller ever, but certainly the least reliable.
Here in the UK, Nintendo's customer service went downhill around the same time the Switch released, not helping matters. Nintendo used to put a lot more care into the build quality of their systems.
This is the generation I stop buying Fire Emblem special editions. Having all of Fates on one game card was nice but the rest of it just sits there. Never even opened the Alm and Celica amiibo.
There's a Nicalis sale on too with most games around half price.
I'm at the point where I'm buying games I'm half interested in because the discount is good. I suppose as Nintendo fans we still need to get used to hefty discounts.
The layout for the app is starting to look messy, especially with the sp versions being separate from the standards. Could do with a way to organise the games. Would like some basic instructions for games too. Tried the wrestling game and couldn't work out what to do, even with just two buttons.
That was in my top 10 snes games. I could never complete it as a kid. This is the remake I always wanted but never expected. Absolutely loved the music. I'm all about that Funky Goblin track.
I hadn't used my 3ds since the Switch was released. Last week I decided to turn it on. I actually made use of a My Nintendo offer to get Wario Land 3, completing my VC collection of 1 - 4. Turns out I had forgot how much I enjoy the little thing. It has so much charm. All them Game Boy and Game Boy Colour games lined up on my home screen. I played a bit of Badge Arcade, opened Streetpass Plaza and cleared all the special Miis Nintendo had sent. Almost played Animal Crossing but couldn't bring myself to see how bad the town had got. Overall, I felt the Nintendo magic that I've not really felt with the Switch. Basically what I'm getting to is, I want to play games on the 3ds again, including this one.
@Sakura7 I've got a copy but it came free with Arcade magazine. They were sort of going for a older gamer/lads mag vibe. I remember them having a load of pictures of Nell McAndrew in her undies on account of her being the new Lara Croft at the time. That's an irrelevant point I'm making but someone's gonna have a nice go on Google images now.
@XenoShaun yeah, I'd like to read the articles without the words disappering behind the ad too. I was gonna be that guy earlier today but thought they'd have it fixed sooner rather than later.
Which is fine for digital only games but if it's a tenner cheaper on Amazon, that's worth 1000 points plus the 1% when you register the game. Anyway, I can start registering games again now.
I remember when the demo unit for Mario 64 was set up at the Fosse Park store. My mum would go and do the shopping while I stood there for hours. People would queue behind me but I'd just keep playing until they left. One frustrated kid hit the reset button and walked off. Paid £70 for the first Turok in there too. Crazy money for a game by today's standards. Shoe City was next door and they had the most amazing Funhouse style play area at the back of the shop.
@Saego Thanks man. People on a budget will want one device with multiple uses. A parent isn't going to buy their kid a Switch for games and an iPad for YouTube. They will buy something that can offer both. People won't be put off buying a Switch because it has Netflix, they will be put off because it doesn't.
Was trying to convince a friend to buy a Switch last night. I was doing quite well until he asked what apps it has. He just laughed when I told him no Netflix, no browser. He's gonna get an X Box 1X instead.
It's fine if some people don't want Netflix on the Switch. If it gets released, I'm sure it would be an optional download. Don't want it, don't download it. I don't have a smart TV and so I have to keep my Wii U set up just for Netflix and browsing.
"The pink puff is back – in HD – and he's not alone. Kirby is back – and he’s finally on the Nintendo Switch console in HD! But this time, he’s not alone." Who writes this tat?
DOOM was ported to the SNES in 1995 not 1993. I remember it well because it blew my 10 year old mind. At the time it felt like it ran brilliantly. Doesn't seem so good on the snes mini these days but maybe that's because of the ROM.
Thomas, that time Nintendo's online service went down on the Wii Us first Christmas. And there you were, Christmas day, writing an article about it. I thanked you on Miiverse for it at the time. Your dedication to the job won't be forgotten!
