Re: Talking Point: Mario Kart 8's Diverse DLC Sets Up Endless Potential for the Franchise

I don't think there should be a radical change. I can see the new settings and characters fit into the existing, relatively traditional look and gameplay quite well.
Sure, it would've been nicer to get Kamek and regular Dry Bones instead of Cat Peach and Dry Bones Bowser but aside from that it all sounds glorious so far.
It just remains to be seen what kind of effect the DLC will have to playing with online friends that won't get it.
And i think aside from a Battle Mode DLC there shouldn't be more. They will have played their best cards with these two DLC packs right now.

Re: Super Smash Bros. For 3DS Will Feature A Music Player That Works In Sleep Mode

I would love to see something like this in a global handheld app in the future.
It would be a huge nod towards game music if every track you've unlocked in a game went into a global player with some easy-to-use playlist creation, a random mode and the ability to delete these tracks if you don't like 'em.
For me that would definitely make it easier to justify paying the kinda high prices for games.

Re: Talking Point: A Virtual Console Revival Could Be Just a Pricing Revolution Away

One option is a subscription service that entitles gamers to choose a set number of games per month at a reasonable discount — $10 a month (renewed each month, not an ongoing or annual commitment) could perhaps allow picks of three GBA games, three SNES, four NES or a mixture across platforms

I'd like something along these lines. That price wouldn't make me mind that i can't play the GBA on the 3DS too.
That wouldn't be much of a problem if cross-buy was in full effect though.
Another thing that makes it hard to justify paying that much for GBA games is that they're missing the multiplayer features for two-player games. Wouldn't that be the perfect showcase for the GamePad when it comes to games people already love a lot?

Re: Review: XType Plus (Wii U eShop)

rolLTheDice

So this is just a "get the highest score possible", not a "you can actually beat it" type of game, right?
If so i'll probably wait for a discount since i rarely play these games more than once.
Could also have been nice if you could control your shots with the touchscreen and/or Wii Remote per pointer on screen.

Re: Talking Point: Deconstructing Nintendo's Retail Releases of Wii U eShop Titles

I do think that Wii Sports Club and NES Remix deserve their places on the svelves of retailers.
People who aren't keeping up with gaming might see them in a store, be reminded of the good times they had with the NES or Wii Sports and become interested in a Wii U. These people might also be more interested in the 8 GB model of the Wii U and not too fond of getting an external HDD just to play one or two games.
I don't think this goes for a considerable amount of people but the concept isn't bad.
