And I don't get game exclusives from third party developers, they are losing out on money from selling on the other two consoles unless Microsoft are paying "Big" money to cover the loss

First sony with avengers and now this and xbox paying for 15 timed exclusive games on Xbox series X, next gen is all about which company has enough money to throw at companies to make exclusive content/games/timed games.

Ports should be atleast half the original price but so many ports come out at £40-£50, and not just on Nintendo either same with the last of us remastered did the same, but atleast that dropped in price within a couple of months but Nintendo games don't drop a penny even after a year, might have to be a rent

@SnesSwitch and no i have never played any nes or snes games tbh I only got into Nintendo console gaming starting with the wii.

@SnesSwitch ah here we have a fan boy, all I said was the switch is more child friendly than any of the other consoles atm, I have 4 kids in my family and all wanted a switch over a ps4 all because of Mario and pokemon.

Also I have two switches myself and fully enjoy the games I've got at the moment (paper mario, pokemon sword, Botw and splation 2), I'm not bashing the switch and I'm not saying its just for kids

And that's why Metroid 4 has took so long to be made, doesn't bring in the money like nintendos other ip's'

Also the switch has some impressive sales to date but you got to remember the switch is selling to the Nintendo handheld market that the 3ds used to cater to aswell, so if the switch was purely a home console then I'm sure it would only sell half the figures it has now, and I think a revised version is needed at this point, better ram and power are a must going forward if it wants better ports og newer games

The switch is no competitor to playstation or xbox in terms of power, technical abilities and graphics.

Nintendo are doing there own thing and targeting a difference audience, the main worry is if third party support stops as companies focus on the next gen titles.
Nintendo need to step up the first party support in a bigger way than just throwing out ports and remasters

No straight roads, FF crystal chronicles and windbound for me

@westman98 I have a switch lite and a normal switch so I don't consider myself a fanboy lol I said it's more child friendly that any other console. I didn't say its for kids only?

@TheWingedAvenger well it was the first console to do that, who wouldn't want a console and a dvd (blu Ray) player in one? If your paying £300 or more you expect it to do more than just play games on a TV

@Averagewriter well I'm sorry if I worded it in such a way especially as I have a switch myself, I'm was just trying to say that the switch is way more child friendly than the other consoles which has helped massively towards the sales figures of those switch games

I'm not saying the switch is just for kids but it's way more child friendly than ps4 and xbox. Seeing as the switch has fortnite and pokemon and a tonne of other games that are child friendly. I see no reason why a kid would want any other console other than the switch, can you?

No offence here (as I have a switch too) but the switch caters heavily towards children and casual gamers where as xbox and playstation cater more towards adults and hard-core gamers, the fact the switch is handheld aswell works as kids can play games anywhere and off the tv to a parents delight.

I mean Mario, animal crossing and pokemon vs final fantasy and gran turismo? What's a kid going it want to play more?

So of course these child "friendly" games in switch are going to sell way more than the hard-core adult and rpg games of the ps2 era

Not to mention that gaming as a whole is a lot bigger now than ever before and it's mainly all kids want these days (thanks to fortnite), of a kid wants a switch to play fortnite then of course eventually he's going to want other games aswell

It's mind boggling seeing how some people have put 300-700 hours into this game, I've put 35 hours in and literally ran out of things to do, it's now just fish every day to get bells and buy things from the shop to decorate my house

@Ralizah yes but 3 of those are ports/remasters and the only game announced so for for later this year is also a port, and the rumoured Mario ports/remasters.

I think most people are just fed up of ports and remasters and slapped with a full price tag, in terms of new games it's not looking good

@Ralizah in my opinion before 2020 we had, Botw, splatoon 2, Arms, mario kart, fire emblem, mario odyssey, xenoblade chronicles 2, links awakening, kirby, yoshi crafted world, astral chain, smash bros, pokemon sword/shield, pokemon let's go, mario and rabbids, mario tennis aces, luigis mansion 3, marvel ultimate alliance 3, mario maker 2 and Mario party

Compare that to what we have had this year? Animal crossing, paper mario and xenoblade (remaster)

@NEStalgia when you put it like that, that is a pretty crappy move by Nintendo and to make matters worse their first party games never drop in price. Luckily for me I rent 90% of my games

Using the virus is an excuse to hide the fact that they really didn't have anything else but ports to bring out this holiday season. Wouldn't be surprised if BoTW2 and Metroid 4 are 2022 games at this point

@Ralizah how has 2020 been a better year for first party switch games? Apart from animal crossing and snack world, and maybe paper mario there's hardly been any other good first party games from nintendo

Wow more ports, sick of ports and remasters now. Give us something new and original otherwise those switch sales are going to slide by this time next year, I mean the next gen consoles come out this holiday season and so far there is nothing for the switch coming out this holiday season. They need a few system sellers to keep people away from the competition

Especially if all they have for this holiday season are these rumoured Mario remasters, then things aren't looking good (atleast for the rest of this year)

Got on ps4 and it's a fun game especially if you already know the world and characters. Can't say I've noticed any performance issues though

2017 for me, got my switch and had some amazing games along with it that year aswell, unlike this year which has been very poor and not a good sign.

Though 1998 came close. Being a 7 year old kid and finally getting to play pokemon red and blue (could of been 1999 for UK can't remember back then). And has probably been my most played game series

I wouldn't mind this happening as I missed out on this on the wiiu

Obviously will pale in comparison to breath of the wild but I do prefer the combat in this over zelda

The NA/Europe box actually showed you what the game is about, one look at it and you can tell its a puzzle gsne about fitting blocks, yet the Japan box art doesn't.

@jobvd I know originally it was a Nintendo exclusive I've played them all since 3, I was talking about this dragon quest specifically

For the games I can't live without then yes I will pay 70, I will rent the rest of the games I want

Got both this and ghost of tushima and I think ghost of tushima deserves the top spot but it was close, best paper mario so far in my opinion

A little tip for everyone, press y comms then connect to the Internet, then search for a link trade, while it's searching press y comm again and loads of players raids will appear to join and if you back out of y comm and back into it again more raids will appear, keep doing that until you see a 5 star raid and quickly try and join

For some reason whilst the game is searching the server for a trade partner there are 10 times the usual amount of raids appearing in the y comm

How do energy cards work then as usually you need them to do your moves, or does each player still have a deck they draw from

@sixrings I have to agree especially with next gen consoles round the corner, these big third party developers will be concentrating on them. Nintendo need to up their game and release atleast 1 first party game a month
