@PretendWorking haha been thinking the same tbh, it's a great game but I wouldn't say it's game of the year as to me persona 5 Royal and final fantasy 7 remake have been better, though animal crossing would come in 3rd but there's still 7 months left.

Super mario remasters? Oh god please don't no more ports and remasters this gen it's just too LAZY. We need new games, not games we've played before or played on other consoles.

Hmmm I doubt they would make a kirby event for Nintendo fortnite players (who have a switch) just to play. I mean put of the 350 million fortnite players only about 10% play on switch so it would be pointless. It's probably just a joke because of Nintendo using a fortnite logo on the kirby wallpaper

With the switch sales reaching 60 million I think they will finally support it more, maybe a better version of fifa and mass effect trilogy

I see no problem with this, infact I think this is genius how it's all been set up and actually looks fun to do. I alps reosect that he is not charging real money for this

Well I agree with their comments about the one island per console basically trying to get people to buy extra consoles but a 0/10 is ridiculous, personally I give it an 7/10 due to the issue listed above and also the repetitiveness of the game, I mean I make sure to play an hour a day but after that hour there's not much else for me to do

My 2 hour hour daily animal crossing session, compete snackworld and raise some DC ranks, get my last two Pokémon needed for the special magearna, complete horizon zero dawn DLC and give the bravely default 2 demo a try.

All whilst waiting patiently for my copies of octopath traveler and persona 5 Royal to arrive.

@RPGamer microtransactions are mostly cosmetic and optional and have no advantage in the actual gameplay. I haven't spent a penny in apex legends or fortnite and still enjoyed them

OK so it's free? So what? Doesn't mean it's not going to be good, fortnite, warframe, apex legends, destiny 2 are all fantastic games and free and only require money for cosmetics and a battle passes which have no effect on pay 2 win

And the future prospect of a switch pro to even further boost sales

But first of all they need to sort out thsi stock shortage, this coronavirus surely doesn't help either

The switch will clearly reach the wii sales which is helped by having the lite and the original catering to both handheld and console players whilst the Wii only catered to the console players

@mesome713 I wouldn't call the switch the greatest system ever, though out of all Nintendos game systems the switch does have the best games and still has atleast 3 more years for even more great games.

This is one of the games I skipped on the wii u as its just looked so Meh and more like an indie game.
But lately with all the hype surrounding the kick-starter campaign and how quickly it reached its goal (and smashed it) surely it must be good?
I'm getting marvel ultimate alliance/bayonetta/snack world vibes from this game and since I have played all three maybe I will finally give this game a chance

Let's be real, as soon as one gets taken down a new one will appear, this could take months. I've played quite a few of these Mario "clone" games in dreams and even though some are graphically good they are all very generic one level designs. But I'm sure this is 100% down to copyright and not the fact that every day gamers with no game development knowledge can make better looking Mario games/levels in a short space of time

Loving the game so far tbh, it's a nice break away from all the hard core games and competitive multiplayer games, it's nice to relax and slowly create a new island community and the added craft mechanics make this animal crossing more engaging and more to do with your time.

Onto the criticisms I can understand some of them, me and my partner luckily have a console each but only one cartridge (don't ask) but for those who want to play together on a single console but have tk share an island and it's resources is pretty crappy.

Also the online multiplayer is a bit boring, it needs some minigames like new leaf had. Maybe an update or dlc with add this hopefully.

And finally the last review was from someone who was expecting a story to this game which most of us know animal crossing does not have, but I can't help wonder if maybe a short story would make this game better (maybe going to different islands saving other characters from perilous situations due to an evil protagonist, or something along those lines)

Truly deserved, really enjoying it so far, love the crafting mechanics and nook miles mini quests keeps you occupied more than the previous animal crossing games.

Just wish there were online minigames like new leaf had otherwise I see no real interest in visiting other peoples islands

@NoTinderLife I agree with a bit of polish and time some of those creations would of been on par if not better than some of the Mario games Nintendo have made (not odyssey though).

If these creators arent making a profit from it then I don't see the problem.

Got mine today off studio, I usually use boomerang rentals for my games but they are unreliable at the moment. I may have to go digital only for the next few months for persona 5 Royal, final fantasy 7 remake, trials of mana and sakura wars.

@arrmixer all final fantasy games have different battle systems from pure turn based to ATB and even hack and slash. I think you just need to find the right final fantasy for you

Over 50,000 with the switch and switch lite combined, how's that bad? Japan loves their portables so of course the lite is going to sell more do to its size

They won't make a switch plus as it will seperate the users, more graphic demanding games will come out for the switch plus but not the standard switch

And we all saw how that worked out for the "new" 3ds which had one exclusive game (xenoblade chronicles)

So if me and my partner want to play on the same console do we both have seperate houses on the island? So I can decorate my own house with my one preferences and she can do the same with her house?
Also if she plays before me and harvests all the fruits etc then will there be nothing for me to collect when I play later the same day?

@nessisonett totally agree, the switch game prices are crazy l mean zelda still costs the same now as it did when I bought it and that was at launch, yet games like red dead redemption 2, god of war and horizon zero dawn cost like £12.

Surely Nintendo would benefit from lowering the price after a certain time has past. This is why I use boomerang rentals to rent 90% of my switch games

Depends on the kind of game for me. Turn based Rpg's I prefer on the switch whilst shooters and hack and slash don't feel good with the switch controls so I get them for my ps4.

@BorderlineJon that's a fair point, maybe I'm just not in tune with my emotional side when it comes to gaming (apart form final fantasy 10 and last guardian).

Their games are good don't get me wrong but I don't see how they get 10/10 reviews, the main focus of those reviews were the art style but the gameplay to me was very simplistic and short, if I was to rate games with good art style/graphics then there would be more 10/10 games

@mesome713 I think the problem with playstation all stars was the fact that smash bros existed.

Smash bros was too high of a game to compete with and playstation all stars failed in comparison, but it was still a good game and maybe would of got a better reception if smash bros wasn't around.

But with genshin I don't think it's trying to be a zelda type game, it's mainly competing in the anime jrpg market, people shouldn't go into this game expecting a zelda clone with zelda type gameplay, which is articles like this are mis leading people into thinking so
