Re: International Game Developers Association Issues Critical Statement Over Nintendo and Alison Rapp

mariovslink62

Going to be very careful when saying this.

NOA probably fired her due to her questionable material on her social media. She was still a Nintendo employee, and needed to be careful when posting that stuff considering she was part of the company. Obviously she didn't, which is why she lost her job, not because she was a woman.

Nintendo of America was in the right for firing her. Using your social media for stuff like nude pics, or supporting child pornography while working for a company is very dumb. Having a second job also seems to be in the wrong so...

Nintendo is not feeding into Gamergate as the IDGA is claiming. She got fired for posting stuff like Playboy content, admiting she supports child pornography, and having a second job. Nintendo isn't in the wrong.

Re: Mighty No. 9's Release Date Remains A Mighty Mystery

mariovslink62

Even though Migthy No.9 is awful when it comes to how it was handled, I don't think we should never ever give our money to someone trying to make a good video game.

Look at Bloodstained:Ritual of the Night. They set a reasonable date to 2017. They could have just set multiple dates and constantly delay the game until that time period.

The issue with Mighty No. 9 is that Inafune is trying to fund all of this other stuff such as a live-action movie, cartoon, and Red Ash, that he's lost focus of what people originally funded for, and that's THE GAME.

This game could be fun, but it will go down as being a mess of a kickstarter, and cause people to be extra cynical towards other kickstarters.

Re: Soapbox: Nintendo Was Wrong To Turn Its Back On The Wii Remote

mariovslink62

No thanks. The motion controls felt forced in my opinion, as simple abilities like Mario's spin jump, could be mapped to a button.

I can see the appeal, but sticking with this model wouldn't change Wii U sales. Casuals have moved on from the Wii. They are on tablets and phones.

Nintendo should just take the Pro Controller, and make that the main controller. The motion controls could be an optional peripheral.

Re: Rumour: New Nintendo NX Controller Images Surface and Set the Web Alight

mariovslink62

@JaxonH It does seem foolish to write of a console like that, however I'm just tired of all of these "innovations." I have no reason right now to believe the NX is going to be better than the Wii U.

That being said, when more info arrives from Nintendo themselves, maybe I'll give the system a chance, but I honestly, my faith in the NX, despite knowing nothing about it, is pretty low. I know that seems weird, but this pattern Nintendo seems to be following of "Let's weaken the hardware and have no 3rd Parties" is worrying me.

Re: Rumour: New Nintendo NX Controller Images Surface and Set the Web Alight

mariovslink62

You know, E3 2015 made me question why should I believe the NX will be better than the Wii U.
I stand corrected. This is actually WORSE if this is real.
A controller with no D-pad, buttons, or stuff like you would expect on a handheld. If the buttons are on the screen, then that's stupid because touch screen isn't always realiable.

If this is the NX, I'm not buying one. -_-

Re: Nikkei Report Suggests That Wii U Production Will End in 2016

mariovslink62

It wouldn't be a surprise. The Wii U is boming and has no chance of picking up in sales. Nintendo already wants to talk about NX in this year's E3, so the major names are going to be it's last.
It could not happen, but at this point who else is going to buy a Wii U? Zelda U is the swan song, and that might not even be a strict Wii U exclusive.

Re: Soapbox: It's too Early to Judge Paper Mario: Color Splash

mariovslink62

Is it just me, or has there been a pattern with Nintendo recently?
3 categories.
1. A game people have been asking for, and when its announced it disappoints a lot of fans.(Metroid, Amiibo Festival)
2. A game that is not to anticipated, but is massively underwhelming.(Ultra Smash, Chibi-Robo,)
3. A game that changes it's mechanics in a negative way.(Mario Party)

Color Splash falls into 2 out of 3 of these categories. People have been asking for Paper Mario 5 for quite a while, and it follows the Sticker Star format, which changed the gameplay in a negative way.

If I purchase this game, I will give it EVERY chance I have. However, at this point Nintendo has put Paper Mario on the back burner in favor of the Mario & Luigi series. However that can only help them for so long. Paper Jam has gotten mixed reception, and the M&L series has also gotten more simpler after Bowser's Inside Story. Nintendo doesn't realize that just because Paper Mario is not as important to them as Mario & Luigi, doesn't mean that they can just screw around with the series. Super Paper Mario caused a lot of debate on whether it was a good game or not, and Sticker Star caused a lot of negativity for a multitude of reasons.

Instead of listening to feedback, Intelligent Systems has gone with the formula that they think would work, just because Sticker Star was more successful than TTYD. The issue is that people only bought Sticker Star because A. The 3DS had a bigger install base, and B. Paper Mario went on a hiatus for quite a while. However, we haven't gone too long without Paper Mario, and the Wii U isn't picking up sales anytime soon. They had a chance to get Paper Mario fans back on board, but they kicked them off the train and threw them in the desert, only for them to wait another couple years for Paper Mario 6.

Only time will tell, but I don't think I can call myself a Paper Mario fan for a LONG time, and that makes me sad.

Re: Soapbox: It's too Early to Judge Paper Mario: Color Splash

mariovslink62

I also belive that the whole "You can't judge it before it comes out." is only used to prevent criticism. It's one thing to make a final judgement. It's another to form an opinion basded off of information that has been released/predictions. As long as you keep an open mind when playing the game, there is nothing wrong with judging trailers and screenshots.

Re: Soapbox: It's too Early to Judge Paper Mario: Color Splash

mariovslink62

I want to defend this game, but I can't I've waited for a Wii U Paper Mario, and the result is Sticker Star 2.
At this point Nintendo doesn't give a dang about Paper Mario. They not only called it an action-adventure game, but the fact they had to shove him in Mario & Luigi says something. They didn't even give the game any special treatment. They just casually announced it in the Direct. You know its sad when Mario & Sonic at the 2016 Rio Olympics gets more attention then Paper Mario.

Maybe if they made TTYD HD I would be more happy.

Re: Talking Point: Splatoon Began With an Early Access Approach, and Has Provided a Valuable Lesson

mariovslink62

If I'm going to pay $60, I expect content worth the asking price. Titanfall did a similar system that Splatoon did in terms of dropping new content for free. However, both games lauched with very little content, with an asking price of $60. So if this system is going to work its either they don't charge us $60 and wait till the game is worth that price, or give us content worth $60.

Re: Feature: Our Staff's Hopes and Dreams for Nintendo's 2016

mariovslink62

@sonicmeerkat The only censorship I can be alright with is cultral differences.(Then again that's more or less localization.)
I don't like the whole thing with Xenoblade how we couldn't alter the breast size. It's taking away a part of the game.
My wishlist for 2016. (May or may not happen)
A Kirby game that isn't a spinoff
Mario Kart DLC Pack 3 (If it's a thing)
Remake of EarthBound
Custom Robo developed by Activision
A new IP
Info on Zelda U
Pokemon on Wii U(Very unrealistic)
