"The unapproved use of Nintendo's intellectual property can weaken our ability to protect and preserve it, or to possibly use it for new projects."
What are you doing with Metroid though? It's been 6 years since we got a real Metroid game. 9 if you skipped out on Other M due to how bad it is.
To add on top of that, you don't care about Metroid enough to do anything about its 30th anniversary. You can't go around acting all high and mighty about Metroid, when you don't do anything with it.
I should expect this, but its funny how Nintendo claims to be doing something with Metroid, but all you've done is give us a lame spin-off, that a good chuck of the fanbase dislikes. Did you celebrate its 30th anniversary? No. How about give us a new game that isn't a lame spin-off? Didn't do that either.
Get off your high horse Nintendo. You aren't doing anything with Metroid. Stop pretending you are.
@ElkinFencer10 People have different ways to enjoy a game that doesn't involve playing it the way its intended. It's like getting mad at competitive Smash players for playing the game differently, instead of playing it the way Smash was intended.
No. It was because you tried to replicate the success of the Wii, but neglected to realize that casuals have moved on to mobile games, and don't care about consoles anymore.
Hmm... I don't know what to say. I mean so many thoughts in my head. The wait is getting more and more tedious. Can Nintendo just stop being so secretive?
This is a human problem, not a Pokemon problem. People looking down on their phones, not looking at where they are going can lead to all of this with the one exception being the robbery thing.
Plus most people know that starring at your phone like that is going to cause some pains. This isn't Pokemon GO's fault.
Sometimes the game stops after I catch a Pokemon and just sits there.
Otherwise its a great way to go outside and explore! I'll be going to Cincinati, so exploring is a key part. Maybe I'll whip this app out when I'm not doing nothing but walking.
Oh well. I guess I have to say goodbye to Paper Mario since Nintendo wants to make it less of an RPG. Hopefully Mario & Luigi keeps its quality up.
P.S. I never got to say this but I don't agree with the whole "If you want an RPG game, play Mario & Luigi." The two games are way more different than the developers think.
To be honest, we shouldn't assume that the NX is an underpowered console based off of Miyamoto's quote. The fact that he uses "just" could imply that Nintendo might have a decently powerful console. Maybe not 4K, but good enough to compete. We will see.
@SKTTR Oh no matter what Nintendo is doing, they need third parties. More variety is what you need on a console. Nintendo can't afford to lose third parties.
Ok. It's not the power quote that scares me. It's the revolutionary idea thing. This is VERY concerning. Another gimmick is the last thing I want. Hopefully this new idea is something small and optional, and not a main part of the system.
@ThanosReXXX I also wonder how it would look on a console. Probably like the 3DS but with a slot for Consoles rather than handhelds. Sorta like how SD cards are put into the Wii U.
@ANiMUS00 This isn't going to be good for a home console though. Home Console Cartiridges can't hold as much as CD's do, and that's not even adding on the cost of making the game.
If cartridges were better, we would have switched already.
@nab1 You might be able to tolerate the crappy visuals, but not everyone is going to accept them. The game looks like a rejected PS2 game honestly.
As for the gameplay, it lacks the sense of adventure, charm, and tight gameplay Megaman X has. Mighty No.9 focuses on spectacle to make the level design seem awesome, when in reality its very simplistic and boring.
I feel bad for anyone who backed this project. They are the people who gave money to help make this game. They had to suffer all of the delays, and in return, they get a poor product which doesn't demonstrate any signs of the team giving it their all. Keji Inafune was being extremely greedy with all of the other Kickstarter projects, and only used the fans as a way of money because he knew how badly they wanted a new Megaman.
Translation: "We know we made a crappy product, but we don't give a crap. At least you can play something like Megaman though right?" Seeing this makes me glad Inafune doesn't have his hands on Megaman.
I saw this coming. After the trailers, I knew this wasn't going to be good. Also this game shows why I dislike review scores. People remember the score rather than the review, and there is always debate on what is average, or good and blah blah blah.
@Achoo Most It's not just the install base, it was the fact that Nintendo tried pushing the Gamepad, putting developers in a spot where they need to make a gimmick for the gamepad.
Alright, I know everyone is down in the dumps, but I'm about to see a postive side.
Reggie's comments might imply what we are thinking, but I don't think he implied that it would be underpowered, just that content is more important than specs. We could still have a powerful console.
@Achoo Games will always have an edge, but having power is important too. Have you noticed that since the N64 Nintendo has had very little 3rd Party support?
3rd Parties aren't going to want that underpowered hardware.
@Anti-Matter It's not a matter of, "Only adult games". It's more of "Hey Nintendo, stop making gimmicky systems. Just make something simple." Plus there are many mature games that aren't dark and gritty. Take a look at Bayonetta, or Sunset Overdrive .
Casual gamers have moved on to mobile. This was the reason the Wii U flopped in my opinion. They need to get the hardcore crowd back.
@TadpoleSHero How about new games that aren't already out? VC is just old games on new hardware, indie titles are a hit or miss, and Smash, Xenoblade, Splatoon, and Hyrule Warriors are all old games that have been out already. People want new stuff, not to replay old games.
@Yorumi I kinda with you. Nintendo needs to build up an audience of real gamers, and not just people who see them as time killers. Nintendo lost that audience back in the Wii days. Hopefully they return to that, but considering Reggie's comments, they might just be acting like Nintendo again.
The NX will either make or break my trust in Nintendo. I get it. They want to be different, but sometimes it feels like they are different just for the sake of being different rather than enhancing the experience. All I want from Nintendo is a powerful, simple console, with 3rd Pary Support, solid online, and for them to use all of their current IP's, while at the same time making new ones. That's just me though
It wasn't good. One game does not make a good E3. I know that Zelda was amazing and all, but its still ONE game. It just doesn't seem right to book all of that space for one game.
It wasn't as bad as last year, but I still think it was mediocre at best.
@Project_Dolphin Complaining about something can be used to give an opinion as well. If I complained about a restaurant not giving quality food, that is an opinion. You didn't like the service, which is a complaint, but also an opinion at the same time.
Blind hate and actual complaints are not the same thing. If I complain about a game that I think doesn't look good, it doesn't mean that I'm not giving an opinion. It's just worded differently.

Re: Nintendo Issues Takedown Notices for Impressive Fan-Made Metroid II Remake, AM2R
@retro_player_22 I understand that Nintendo has the the right to do this. My issue is not with that.
It's the fact Nintendo is acting like they care about Metroid.

Pokemon GO is going to be ruined by Niantic. Plain and simple.

I not sure. Depends on the future.

@ThanosReXXX Now if only we could drop the gimmicks. Just a simple controller. Imagine how good the NX would be!
Re: Trademark Listing Adds Fuel to Talk of Nintendo NX Using Cartridges
@ThanosReXXX Alright after looking it up you are correct.
Maybe if people did say cards I would understand.
Re: Trademark Listing Adds Fuel to Talk of Nintendo NX Using Cartridges
@jimi I might as well. They have games. Wii U has nothing for me right now. No reason for it to collect dust.
Re: Trademark Listing Adds Fuel to Talk of Nintendo NX Using Cartridges
@jimi I do know about that, but who said carts were the answer? They could easily just use regular discs as well.
I'm a PC gamer BTW. I don't own a console outside of my Wii U. Though I might sell it, and get a PS4.
Re: Trademark Listing Adds Fuel to Talk of Nintendo NX Using Cartridges
@ANiMUS00 You mean the 3DS one's? I don't think thats going to work for a home console.
I really just don't think that Nintendo needs to go back to cartridges for a console at least.
Re: Trademark Listing Adds Fuel to Talk of Nintendo NX Using Cartridges
