Re: E3 2016: Check Out the Paper Mario: Color Splash E3 Trailer

@Project_Dolphin No one here said so far that people who enjoyed Sticker Star are wrong. My issue was how you used the whole "Nintendo doesn't care therefore you shouldn't say anything." That was what we were arguing about. We weren't dissmissing anyone fore liking Sticker Star. If anything, there are more people dissing other people for wanting a Paper Mario like TTYD.

Re: E3 2016: Check Out the Paper Mario: Color Splash E3 Trailer

mariovslink62

@Project_Dolphin It doesn't change the fact that you're trying to silence people for having an opinion! Oh but Nintendo doesn't care so we shouldn't say anything right?

Whether or not Nintendo listens is out of the question. You can't stop people from speaking out just because "oh Nintendo may not listen." If Nintendo doesn't want to listen then let them, but don't try to use that as a way to prevet people from saying anything negative.

Re: E3 2016: Check Out the Paper Mario: Color Splash E3 Trailer

mariovslink62

@Project_Dolphin So basiclly your saying that you can't complain or speak out if Nintendo does something stupid because they won't listen. -_-

Nintendo clearly hears their fans outcry. Why else would Reggie try to defend Metroid Prime Federation Force, or have the trailer for that game disable the like to dislike bar?

Nintendo better listen, otherwise the NX is going to sell terribly.

Re: E3 2016: Check Out the Paper Mario: Color Splash E3 Trailer

mariovslink62

@E_maniac I'm not trying to change your opinion here. Just showing why so many people hate Sticker Star.

The Gameplay was terrible. There is no point to fighting enemies since you gain no experience points. All you get are coins.

The worlds felt linear. Paper Mario 64 and TTYD had worlds that felt open. Heck even Mario and Luigi has that. However Sticker Star just has a linear world to explore, especially when Toads are the only NPC's

Partners were removed. They gave the series even more personality. Even Super Paper Mario had partners. This game gives you Kirsti, who pales in comparison to any of the characters thought the series. She seems to remind me too much of Starlow from Mario and Luigi, except much worse.

The bosses were uncreative. They were just Mario characters on steroids.

The story was lackluster. It's basic and boring. Yeah I know Miyamoto didn't think it needed one, but I felt like that's a missed opportunity.

If you like it, more power to you!

Re: E3 2016: Check Out the Paper Mario: Color Splash E3 Trailer

mariovslink62

@Syrek24 Embrace change huh?
That arguement is getting ridiculous.

Change is not always a good thing. It can be negative too. What if Blizzard turned Overwatch into a generic shooter? Nobody would likie that at all! People hate Sticker Star not because they can't embrace change, but because the changes they made were stupid and made the game not enjoyable.

Re: E3 2016: Check Out the Paper Mario: Color Splash E3 Trailer

mariovslink62

@Project_Dolphin I don't know man. Most people who defend Sticker Star are new to the series. If they aren't then whatever, it's their opinion. However the cry out for a good Paper Mario is huge, at least in the Paper Mario Community.

Oh and yeah, Nintendo doesn't listen a lot. They march on the beat of their own drum.

Re: E3 2016: Check Out the Paper Mario: Color Splash E3 Trailer

mariovslink62

I feel like Sticker Star represents my problem with Miyamoto. He tries so hard to be creative that he doesn't know when to stop or when enough is enough. Nobody seems to want to say no to the guy since he is highly respected and just go along with what he says. Sticker Star could have been just like TTYD, but Miyamoto said NOPE, and thus Sticker Star came to be.

Re: E3 2016: Check Out the Paper Mario: Color Splash E3 Trailer

mariovslink62

@capitalism Yes because the future of Paper Mario is a bland story, bad gameplay, and a linear world to explore.

People want to go back to TTYD because the newer games are just changing the mechanics in a bad way. Here we have Nintendo taking a decent game series, and changing it for no good reason. People wanted a new Paper Mario, and the result is Nintendo slapping their fanbases, and going with what they think is awesome, even though it's stupid.

Re: Editorial: With Lowered Expectations E3 Can Still Be Full of Nintendo Magic

mariovslink62

Let's be excited about games we already know about! YAY.

Nintendo's E3 is looking like garbage. No NX, Zelda taking up a majority of their E3(Mind you that we have no idea what the NX is, and they are spending an entire day on a game that isn't even an exclusive, and the other console is a mystery.)
Plus Zelda U/NX is ONE GAME.

The rest of E3 is just games that we already know about.

I'm probably going to skip Nintendo's E3. I'm not the biggest Zelda fan, so I would be wasting my time.

Re: Talking Point: The Online Reaction to Teddy Together Shows Why Nintendo Needs To Target Kids More Directly

mariovslink62

Nintendo should target kids... but not JUST kids.
I know what the article is trying to say. Nintendo should target kids, but what about games like Tokyo Mirage Sessions? That was obviously not for kids, yet Nintendo tried marketing the game towards them. Nintendo has to cater to adults, teens, and kids, as we all know not everyone that plays Nintendo is a kid.

Re: Video: Latest Mighty No. 9 Trailer Dials Up The Ridiculousness

mariovslink62

All of that waiting and this is what is presented.
The visuals are GARBAGE. The explosions especially.
Gameplay wise all I see is dash, dash, dash. Somebody told me(as well as someone else on this site) that this is the only way to kill an opponent?

Yeah I'm glad that I didn't help fund this mess. Also what's with the anime fan at prom night joke? It's really petty.

Re: Video: Nintendo Aims to Get Down With the Kids in Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Series

mariovslink62

I mean, Nintendo does know that most gamers are also adults too right?
I don't understand why Nintendo is making the game seem much less mature than it really is. I could care less about the whole censorship, but it confuses me on why Nintendo is not marketing this game to the teen/adult demographic. I know Nintendo is family-friendly but the truth is that not everyone that plays Nintendo is a kid. Not saying ditch the kids, but don't shut out the adults/teens who might be interested in this.

Re: Disney Infinity Has Been Cancelled

mariovslink62

No wonder they aren't going to E3 this year.
Either way the idea of Disney worlds crossing over was nice. It was sadly ruined by the idea of locking content behind toys. Hopefully Disney let's loose and allows other people to make games for them.

P.S. MVC4 Disney. MAKE IT HAPPEN!

Re: Feature: A Summary of Nintendo's Key Announcements on NX, E3 and Mobile

mariovslink62

After today it feels like Nintendo just doesn't care too much about E3. Last year I thought they just messed up, but this year seems to give off a signal that Nintendo is just treating E3 like a Nintendo Direct. I mean what's the point of watching their E3? Zelda seems to be the major focus, but that game isn't even Wii U exclusive! Nintendo has nothing to impress their current supporters of the Wii U, and people who might be interested in picking one up.

I don't know what is going on down there, but Nintendo is changing, and not in a good way.

Re: Reaction: Nintendo Shakes Up E3 With No NX and a Focus on Legend of Zelda

mariovslink62

This was a very dumb move for Nintendo. Not giving info on the NX is a major mistake considering that E3 is the biggest event for gamers, and the Wii U isn't lasting any much longer. The NX is their next shot at impressing gamers who have moved on to XBOX or PS4. Not giving any details is like waving a white flag.

On top of that, dedicating your conference to one game is just as stupid. People are not going to give you the win based off of one game. Even then, its not a Wii U only release, so your giving people less of a reason to keep playing your system!

Nintendo. I really want to know what the heck are you doing. Not only are you not convincing people that the NX will be awesome but you are spending your E3 about a dual-release game. There are still people who want to keep playing their Wii U, but are giving them less of a reason to keep owning one. Your holiday season is awful, and unless your E3 pulls out a MAJOR game so big that it convinces people to get one this holiday, your're going to waste that money on Christmas ads, for a system that nobody is going to get because there is nothing to convice them.

Re: Reaction: The NX Release in March 2017 and How It Changes the Game

mariovslink62

I'm very mixed. On one hand, it would be better to put it out in 2017, rather than rush it out to 2016. That way they can get decent launch titles. Plus, the Wii U can't supply people up until Holiday 2017 considering how poor its future looks.

On the other hand, missing Holiday 2017 is very risky since most gamers buy video games during that time period, and by the time Holiday 2016 ends, people will be drained out of money. Plus people don't know anything about the NX. How can be excited?

In the end, we'll have to wait and see what Nintendo does. If its a hybrid, then it would make sense for the handheld version to come out in March, and a home console version later in the holiday season.

Re: Feature: The Biggest Wii U Games of 2016 - Spring Edition

mariovslink62

Nothing other than Star Fox and Toyko Mirage Sessions for me.

There isn't any eye grabbing games here for me. Zelda Wii U may not even be a Spring Title, Mighty No.9 is just begging for a delay, never cared about Shantae, Paper Mario isn't looking to good, Lego games are nothing to me, and Mario & Sonic is just a walking olympic advertisment.

This lineup is poor as heck. -_-
