@bro2dragons Take out any remakes/re-releases, any eshop only games as well as Smash DLC(Not saying it's bad but Smash isn't a new game.) Take out games that are future present like SF, Zelda etc.
If we are looking overall it was mixed.

2015 was kind of ok for Wii U. Splatoon was great, but the lauch kind of didn't help me. Reminded me of Titanfall. Xenoblade X is definitly my GOTY. Mario Maker was nice, and so was Wooly World. However Mario Tennis:Smash (No Ultra because Ultra doesn't describe it.) and AC: Amiibo festival weren't to pleasing.

Xenoblade X. Kinda put Splatoon down for a while.

@EmmatheBest SSB4 is a 2014 game. It just had DLC come out this year.

Xenoblade X should have won. However I knew that Splatoon was going to win just because. -_-
I like Splatoon but it's not my Wii U game of the year, mainly because of how the game launched. Nobody wants to wait until August just to play private friend lobbys.

I'm really liked the presentation. Corrin looks to be a fun character, and so does Bayonetta. I'm glad that this is Smash 4. It certainly was a fun ride!
Though I'm going to miss speculating.

To anyone agreeing, we can't predict based off of fan polls. People from everywhere voted, not just some people on a fan poll. Be realistic. Most the others might be in Smash 5.

Xenoblade X by miles. Splatoon wouldn't be as good without the 2.0 update. The base game was lacking in every aspect. XCX has so much things to do.

I'm with you. A legit crossover would be nice. Instead they are trying to fuse them, but it doesn't roll of my tounge. A simple crossover with FE and SMT characters would've been easier. Sigh.

This looks less like FE/Shin Megami. It should have been a new IP. I honestly wish it was a legit crossover, and not a weird mashup. I'll try it out, but I'm not really as excited as I was before.

Seriously I love how upset people get over something that was said by an indie dev. I had a feeling that it wasn't going to be major, but people should have paid attention.

@IceClimbers Steve in Smash? IDK. I don't know. He's owned by Microsoft and unlike Banjo, he was never owned by Nintendo at one point. Plus I don't know if Japan knows the guy.

If people think that Smash or something big was going to be it, 2 things.
1. It was by an indie rep. If it was something big, a Nintendo rep would say it.
2. Smash was most likely not going to be it. If it was airing today, they would have annouced it beforehand. Plus if they were to talk about Smash, it would be a release date, not the actual brodcast.
As for the announcement. It's alright.

Look Sega all you have to do is make a GOOD Sonic game. Just make similar to Generations and you might do well. Or you know, finish a game before you rush it out.

Shantae is definitly the mascot of Way-Forward.
I would love DLC. Not the biggest fan of Shantae, but I don't hate it.
Plus most indie games do better with DLC than actual AAA developers. (BATTLEFRONT! )

I won't be disapointed if it doesn't live up to the first since that game is probably hard to live up to.

I might skip this year because A. Xenoblade, and B. I'm not in a mood to watch it. 2015 in terms of gaming overall is not the best. Not as bad as 2014, but definitly not the best with all of this DLC crap.(BATTLEFRONT! )

How much anyone wants to bet Nintendo will take this down like the Super Mario 64 HD project?

I was willing to give the game a chance, despite how mad I was. However the way amiibo is implemented is turning me off. $20 is the most I'll pay.

I don't know why this even exists. Why didn't they just make Animal Crossing U. Sure the devs are still working on Splatoon, but it doesn't kill to have a new fresh of eyes! Look at Super Mario Land! Miyamoyo didn't make it yet it still turned out really good!

Called it. Amiibo cash grab. Wanna get the minigames? Shove out some extra cash for an already boring experience. No thanks.

I feel like the list is too early. Xenoblade hasn't come out and if smaller games are on here, then we can't call this list done until after Christmas IMO.

I've been playing on my PC longer than I should be. I was hoping there were some surprises for this year but apperently not.

Splatoon is fun, but the lack of content at launch almost made me stop playing it.
Mario Tennis is so lacking in every aspect.
Animal Crossing Amiibo Party is nothing special and is a waste of time.

Overall I've been dissapointed this year in terms of gaming, but I'm upset with Nintendo especially. 2016 looks to be amazing, but for now I'm not pleased.

I would prefer Smash over Splatoon simply because the lack of content at launch, but it's still a great game regardless.
Smash is such a childhood wonder for me. This makes it my favorite Wii U and 8th generation game. Smash 5 might be hard to top.

Off topic but what's going on with Retro? Every year something goes on with Retro, and every time nothing major happens.
On topic, I would most likely pick this up at around $30. I just can't see myself paying $60, than getting 3/4 of my money back when I return it. Nintendo should have learned what happens when a game launches with no content. While games like Splatoon got extra content, at lauch it didn't warrant $60 IMO.
So overall, I'm just displeased at how lacking this game is. I'm bout to pre-order Xenoblade X.

I have a feeling that this game was going to come out later in 2016, but Nintendo probably had them finish the game earlier to meet holiday demands.

The lack of the ability to play with friends is baffling. It's a key componet in online play.
DLC better be coming cause right now this game is bare bones.

I like the Wii U. 3rd parties might be lacking, and power isn't the best, but a Wii U and PC is the best combo. Most of the PS4 and Xbone's games I can get PC, or last gen. They have exclusives, but they aren't enough for me to care.

I'm putting it like this.
Is it bad? In a way yes. We shouldn't be trying to appease the kids.
Is it worth throwing a fit? No. It doesn't take away anything major from Xenoblade Chronicled X, unlike Mortal Kombat on SNES.

It was good. Not amazing, but a good comeback.
