@electrolite77 My original post was about Mario games only not in general. If you include Paper Mario as well, we have 3 new Mario games for a console that is extremely popular around the world and now 4 years old. Again, I'm sure you will agree that if Nintendo did make a new Mario game and MK, it would sell millions around the world and both you and I would be purchasing copies of both. When all said and done, I'm impressed with the remakes we have received and I own every one of them and don't regret buying them. Being realistic I appreciate Covid has delayed many a plan, but, we are still overdue an original new Mario game and a new MK. Here's hoping for either later this year or 2022 and these 2 new games given priority over any more remakes. This is my opinion shared by lots of others and you are entitled to your opinion shared by others as well.

@electrolite77 That's right Nintendo have made a number of new games but do the maths with regards to how many original brand new games. You will find if you take time out, that there are actually not that many new Mario games for the Switch. Lots of remastered, which have been done very well, but not as you say 'which they have made many of'. So your argument does not stand up and is inaccurate. However (as stated previously) I'm sure you (and millions) will agree, we are long overdue a new Mario game and a new MK game as after all it is Mario's 35th birthday. And if a new Mario game and MK game does come out in the near future, I'm sure you will be first in line to buy both?

Top top game, now I do feel like an old fart!! I remember buying this from the Littlewoods catalogue for about £75 in the day and then paying it off at about £1.50 per week for next 52 weeks or so. I also remember tournament nights with 4-5 friends with plenty of ass kicking and bragging... happy days Favourite fighter, Dhalsim (bad ass Ghandi) yep that was one leg extension he had when kicking!!

Re: Soapbox: Retro Nintendo Games Cost Too Much, But Nostalgia Is Expensive

karatekid1612

NOL is ok, but you can't beat that feeling of pushing a cartridge into a SNES or NES and playing the game on a CRT TV. That said, I really do believe that if Nintendo created a new VC with a bigger library of games than before covering all consoles SEGA included (with the games spruced up to HD standards), it would definitely be a gold mine for them. I just can't understand why something so obvious is not being seriously considered by them or being done at the moment half heartedly with NOL?????

Great piece Kate and being wrong side of 50 now since December last year, I can really sympathise with this article. I just brought a PAL version of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in Time for £73 and kick myself for not keeping my original SNES copy. I got fed up with waiting in the end for someone to re-release the original or the re-shelled version which unfortunately I missed. For me personally, since covid kicked off, my retro collection of games is going through the roof, especially on the WII when some are selling for £5-£6 each!! If Nintendo got their arse in gear and kick started VC again but bigger and better including all consoles and all the big games (no matter what legal problems there would be) then they would make millions and we could stop paying out millions to relive the good old days otherwise known as our childhood or in my case, late teens/early-mid twenties. Yep life was more simple back then and games were too, no such thing as DLC or patches etc and I think we are seeing a full circle in our gaming habits. After all they don't call it the circle of life for nothing. Happy retro gaming everyone and Nintendo...... re-open the online WII/WII U gaming servers for all games oh and if you have time....MIIVERSE too??!!!

Re: The Wii U First Launched Eight Years Ago Today

karatekid1612

Loved and still love my WII U, such a shame it was not supported as well as it should have been. It now has pride of place in my retro/man cave and I still play it loads. Anybody want a game of ten pin bowling on WII U Sports? No regrets what so ever and MK still has a large online community. And I will always remember playing Zelda Wind Waker in glorious HD, happy days and good memories!

Re: SMITE Adds Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles As Playable Characters

karatekid1612

Tried to start a chat with others on the NL forum page regarding bringing back TMNT in time (SNES version of course) on the Switch or a new remake. It was locked by Octane, however it did generate a lot of interest. I personally think this would be a huge hit and I hope the powers that be seriously consider this....... PLEASE !!!

Re: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles in Time

karatekid1612

Yep I love it too and tried to start a discussion off on a NL forum. Unfortunately got locked but somebody called Octane???!! Message for Octane, I'm new to this and did not realise there were other threads. However that does not give you the right to lock free speech. Go troll else where and just appreciate that if we don't talk about this game, then it may never get re-mastered or re-released!!!

Re: Nintendo Is Absolutely Killing It In The UK Right Now

karatekid1612

Duh yeh of course they are. I have a PS4 and Xbox one and the fact is, there is something special about Nintendo games that just seems better than most games on the other systems (apart from Horizon Zero Dawn and Forza Horizon). OK they don't always get things 100 % right but being 50 years old I still get that good feeling playing Mario and Zelda games. All I ask is for is another 2D Mario game and more DLC for Mario Kart, or better still a new MK game!!

karatekid1612

Wow what a year!! But at least Nintendo have given us a good showing of Mario Anniversary games. Yes not everyone is happy, but I really do appreciate what we have this year under the circumstances! As for this, well it certainly is different to what I played on an arcade machine way back in 1986 and looks like fun. PS still love playing the original SMB now and this will just add to it

Re: Animal Crossing: New Horizons Update 1.5.0 Patch Notes - Halloween, Pumpkins, Jack And Much More

karatekid1612

being 2 months off 50 years old, I was debating for ages whether or not to get this game as I thought it might be a bit childish, however I can honestly say I am hooked!! Looking forward to tomorrow and even more to the christmas update!! Just wish there was a big central island where players could meet up and trade etc. Apart from that I really do enjoy playing this as it is different to all the other games I have
