Re: 'Switch 2' Launching This Year With 8-Inch LCD Screen, According To New Analyst Rumour

johnvboy

More rumors about rumors, based on previous rumors, most of which totally contradict each other, the Switch 2 will have this, then one says it will have that etc etc..........

All this based on the ludicrous Switch pro rumors, which existed pretty much at the original Switch launch, and were more about the core being unhappy with the power of the console than anything else...then when the OLED was revealed with no extra power, these rumor merchants invented all kinds of mental gymnastics to why they were right all the time about the pro, rather than simply admitting they were in fact wrong, apparently Nintendo could not make the chips, but did manage to get hold of the OLED screens, yea right.

Best to leave all this rumor and speculation to those YouTubers with very few subscribers, and even fewer views, who post endless videos about this day after day, all for clicks and subscribers of course.

Re: Random: It's Been 5 Years Since Metroid Prime 4 Was Rebooted

So much hype for a very mediocre selling game, surprised this is still a thing.

The Metroid prime remaseter only managed a million sales, and considering the Switch's userbase, that is very poor.

And people on here try to suggest Nintendo does not do things for the fans of more modest selling game franchises, this is proof the oppsite is true.

@Jeronan,

Funny how the performance of the Zelda games varies depending on peoples arguments. In this case they are the best running games ever, of course the fact they were effectively a Wii U game engine in development for years, totally slips peoples minds, and the fact that on release BOTW ran pretty badly.

Of course when we are talking Switch hardware in relation to the competition, these Zelda titles revert back to being games that look O.K for the platform, with multiple performance issues.

This place gives you whiplash from all the changing viewpoints, and you could not seriously make any of this up if you tried.

@GameOtaku,

I would suggest Nintendo have been doing very well from a business perspective, they released the retro mini console series to test the waters, and even those systems sold pretty well, but were still pretty niche.

It's a commom misconception that Nintendo are not very good at business, usually from people who often confuse what Nintendo should do, with what the personally would like them to do, from a business perspective.

@GameOtaku,

That ship sailed many years ago, as the popularity of the virtual console service peaked on the Wii , then took a nosedisve on the Wii U.

Outside the core hobby gmaers there is just not that much interest in this stuff, the market is pretty niche, divided up between collectors who only really want physical consoles and games, the emulation crowd, then the retro Nintendo game fans that would jump all over a retro console service, just not enough of them for it to be a viable option.

Re: Nintendo Switch Was The Console With The Most Game Releases In 2023

johnvboy

Not so sure why it bothers some there is a lot of choice on the Switch e-Shop, I think a lot of this stems from the fact, that it's many games that they do not personally see any value in.

The Switch has a very broad demographic and more choice is always a good thing, and trancends any individuals own personal preferences.

Re: Switch Online's 'Missions & Rewards' Adds Pokémon Scarlet & Violet DLC Icons

johnvboy

@weisske,

Or who just simply enjoy games without being overly obsessive about it, it's the core minorities who spend far too much time playing videogames, and then discussing them on internet forums. The mass majority who bought this game will simply play and enjoy it, totally unaware of any issues or the fact they are even being discussed in the first place.

Let it go, if you do not personally like this game then do not buy it, stop trying to suggest others are somehow wrong for not having the same issues with this game, which is far from the trainwreck some are suggesting on here.

I have no issues with you or others not liking these games, but does it have to taint every sngle related Pokemon scarlet and violer thread, I mean the games performance update articles, sure..... but an article about the games mission icons.... not so sure.

Re: Talking Point: Could Nintendo Go Another Year Without A Switch Successor?

johnvboy

I think Nintendo can easily go another year, which was my initial prediction of a early 2025 Switch 2 release, Nintendo can easily sell between 17 million and 20 million consoles, although I would be interested to see how the Switch has done this holiday season.

Nintendo have obviously pushed most of it's development to the next system, but that could mean they just want to get as much software available for the new console, so still on the fence about new hardware hitting this year. Plus Nintendo could keep hardware sales going with a price cut.
