Re: Rumour: 'Switch 2' Will Reportedly Be Officially Revealed This Thursday

@PeteW,

Up to now Valve have sold around 10 million units of the steamdeck, not sure how this is not niche, or not even a slightest bit of competition for the Nintendo Switch.

I also think comparing the Switch's sales in 2024 when it's been on the market for 7 years or so is not a fait indicator either, and even then the Steamdeck could only manage 10%.

@PinderSchloss,

Nintendo had an issue producing software for the original Switch console, which was why they devoted a whole E3 event to Breath of the wild.

Pretty sure this is not happening this time round, as it's pretty obvious with the releases on the Switch over the last three years, most games have been rather generic updates of software already availanble for the Switch.

It's just so obvious their development teams have been working hard on producing software for their new hardware.

@PinderSchloss,

If this is actually true, which at this point I am taking it with a massive intake of salt. As there have been so many reveal dates from the Switch leaked pretty much every week of every month, for the last three years or so.

My take or prediction was for the Switch to hit in 2025, with a release either before or after summer. And I am pretty sure Nintendo will go with their original Switch reveal. A stealth reveal trailer, which will show some breif clips of games running on the device, just like they did with Mario Odyssey. Then another big planned showcase/direct showing off softwareand more details of the hardware a couple of months before the consoles release.

Not sure why we are expecting them to do anything differently this time round.
