Nintendo has released an updated list of its best-selling titles on the eShop in Japan, this time covering July 2021.
Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin has managed to claim victory this time around, just ahead of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD. It's worth noting that Monster Hunter launched a week before Skyward Sword HD – perhaps that extra time helped to secure that number one spot?
The first four games are all new this month, with Crayon Shin-chan and eBaseball Professional Baseball Spirits 2021 taking third and fourth places.
Only paid downloads are included in the list, and any games that were on sale during the period are appropriately labelled (thanks, Perfectly Nintendo). Secondary numbers show last month's chart placement:

Glad to see Monster Hunter Stories 2 getting the love it deserves! I got the game a few days ago for my birthday and it's been an absolute blast so far. It's a beautiful game with really fun combat, and the monstie hatching mechanic is addictive! I always find myself saying "just one more den".
Whenever Zelda loses to Monster Hunter world becomes a slightly better place.
Monster Hunter Stories 2 is great! I hope it does well enough to get another sequel someday.
I'm so glad Monster Hunter sold so much! A brand new game, a great one, and from a third party. Good news!
MHS2 also had an extra week more than TLoZ:SS, so that helped, I’m sure.
This is nice for MHS2 but doesn't paint the full picture. SSHD already outsold MHS2 in physical copies (Japan). Think it's only a matter of time before it does so digitally as well.
@Preposterous whenever that Zelda game is a full priced ten year old port, I tend to agree!
