Re: Poll: Nintendo Switch Lite Is Out Today, Are You Getting One?

Went with the "unsure" option. I'm looking to upgrade my 3DS, this should be perfect for me... yet the drift issue has gone unaddressed (especially outside the US) and that makes me wary.

Pricing here is at 240€ too, which I wouldn't exactly call "budget".

I'll probably get swayed once I try it in a store tbh.

I was expecting a spin-off but... a Warriors game? Really? Any other genre would've been better (imo).

I've already played P5 on PS3, so I'm not that bummed. But it's a series best experienced in handheld-play, and The Royal would've made so much sense... Maybe the Switch will get the base version, who knows. At this point my hopes are in Sony pushing out a Vita successor.

Re: Talking Point: There's Room For A Switch 'Family' If Nintendo Nails The Messaging

I'm more surprised that they're (allegedly) coming out simultaneously rather than they are coming at all. I'm part of the "handheld-only" camp / a 3DS user waiting to upgrade but I'm probably skipping the "Mini" in favor of the "XL", if the reports are true.

And that's what I expect from the revisions:

1. "Switch Mini" = A Nintendo Vita, no joycons, no dock, sturdy build, multiple color variations / special editions, and a sub-$200 price tag.

2. "Switch XL" = As in, just the screen bezels have been trimmed. It's powerful enough to bump up performance on some games (like New 3DS did to, say, Monster Hunter 4) and maybe get 1 or 2 exclusives (3rd-party only) but that's about it. No 4K on TV. No 1080p on handheld. More than anything, it's an excuse to move past the original's hardware issues with the joycons, the dock scratching the tablet, connection ports, battery life etc, plus probably tackle hacking as well.

Re: Future Business Shift Could See Nintendo Move Away From Home Console Development

I've stopped checking for home consoles around the PS3 era, I've been playing exclusively handheld since. So, to me, moving to mobile feels like the natural next step, almost. Phones already have Switch-sized screens, they'd work fine with peripheral controllers attached.

As long as quality stays the same -so no free-to-play model-, I'd be ok with it. And there'll always be PC for those who'd want that home-console experience.

Re: Feature: 30 Third-Party Nintendo Switch Ports We'd Love To See In 2019

I like that this list covers all the bases, good job! Only notable omission I can think of would be The Witcher 3. More ambitious suggestions made it, so why not

I stand by the opinion that the Switch should become the next big weeb machine so, off the list, I want:

Persona 5
Catherine
NieR: Automata
Final Fantasy XV
Yakuza

Oh, and Mass Effect.

Fire Emblem Awakening is the one 3DS game I keep coming back to; whether it was revamped or a standard port, I’d love to revisit it on Switch. I can’t really say that for any other 3DS game.

My other favorite 3DS title is Shin Megami Tensei IV but it would take a proper Crash Bandicoot level of remaster for me to buy it again; with V on the way, probably a Nocturne remaster as well, and whatever else Atlus has in store, I don’t think that’s in the cards anytime soon. Also, what’s definitely not in Atlus’s cards that I’d love is Radiant Historia: Perfect Chrobology, remade in Octopath Traveler’s engine. Yeah...

I keep stressing the importance of remakes or remasters cause it would take A LOT to charge the full $60 for some 3DS titles without backlash. This isn’t quite another WiiU situation.
