It makes me wonder if using a costume will alter the miis statistics- If wearing a Donkey Kong suit, does it make you heavier? Now if that's included it'll be interesting for the racing itself. Makes you think...
Bayonetta first print and Disney Magical worlds retail for me. Maybe i'll get the Disney DLC too. Glad they've finally releasing it here as we've been waiting what seems like forever! Great thing is, unlike new leaf, despite being in real time, no one will move away or crops won't rot like the turnips do, so this'll be a much easier experience. I love New Leaf but loathe somethings, in particular, grass wearing. I wish they'd update it so you could stop it from disappearing. My neighbours, as much as i love them, rarely use the paths i set up so there's mud patches everywhere :-/
Gutted but finally glad they've admitted it. Good news is no one is losing a job. I've read Gamesmaster in the past and found the pages to be too cluttered and full of stuff i'm not interested with so i'll be cancelling. Best of luck to those who have been affected.
Some people may not like it but the Wii U IS classed as next gen. Ah stuff them- i'd rather have games like the wonderful 101, Bayonetta 2 and Mario Kart 8 anyway. Much more fun from what i've been reading with the last few games in this series anyway. As long as the Wii U keeps producing unique games then i'm happy. The Wii U caters to my taste and that's all that matters to me and i'm sure many others out there
@PvtOttobot ah now that's where Wales went wrong- because we didn't vote for independence we're still ignored. Maybe if we had we would have been noticed and had Cardiff added to that list as well XD What are we like! Well if you go enjoy and best of luck
Excellent reply. It's not that Platinum have anything against other consoles either, it's just in this case, without Nintendo, Bayonetta 2 would not be here. End of. It's nice for once that we will get something others want and i've even pre-ordered the first print despite not playing it before as i've enjoyed what i've seen. For example, Capcom had a massive hit with Revelations on the 3ds and made a HD port as it did so well. The sequal? Nope, not on Nintendo and we get shafted. Hopefully this'll be a lesson for Sony, Microsoft and other and they won't forget how it feels in a hurry. I just hope the sales are good though as they deserve to be supported
Nope. I must be pretty lucky with special Smash Bros demo- not once have i had hand cramp! I'm using an XL and my hands are okay. Nor have i wrecked my circle pad. All still working just fine Tell me something though- i found last night that i already have over 10200 gold saved on the demo (it's in the vault section under the Game and more option) so does that mean when the full game is played for the first time all the gold is added to it? Just curious about it as i don't really want to lose it all. It's taken so damn long to get it! Come on Friday please hurry up....
Hm a lot of work going on there. Could be to do with the themes, could be something bigger. I'm predicting a direct very soon as we haven't had one which wasn't focused on just one game for a long time. Again i would like one unified account but that never happens. The fact that both Wii eshop and dsi is involved i stands out. Why do i get the feeling that those will be closing shortly?
That must be the longest review they've ever done lol! Seriously though, wow! I thought the demo i had now was great, this makes me impatient for next Friday to come! I'm so happy that those saying it'll be the poor man's version have been put in their place by not just this review but pretty much every other review out there For now the demo will have to tide me over- i just hope that Game will deliver it early. They've always been fairly good in the past. I guess that this demo, Theatrhythm and New leaf will have to keep me going for now.....
Interesting at the end- it's confirmed a boxed release of the Phoenix Wright trilogy and ultimate NES remix. Good for Australia as they're usually the last!
Managed to get the first print version before it sold out. Between this, Curtain call and Smash Bros 3ds plus a few other ongoing games, i'll be sorted until Christmas. Been saving and sacrificing like mad so this had better be worth the extra! I'm really enjoying the wonderful 101 so if Platinum can make it at least half as enjoyable as that, then i'm sorted ♡
Should this be launched in the UK, it'll more than likely only be in some English cities going by the last "UK" tour Nintendo did. Maybe they'll incorporate it into the Streetpass groups over here? There will be something, question is when.
Oooh Dual Destinies is £11.99? Gotta scrape the money for that at that price! Been waiting for a deal for a while so this'll be the final push for me So okay i still need to play the other games but for that price i can keep it for later on. Landed!
Now THAT'S more like it! As i said before, no matter how hard i tried i struggle with the pro controller and Gamecube controller and the wii remote felt cramped to me, so this is perfect! I doubt many others will use it, but at least now when Smash is released on the Wii U i can finally join in multiplayer and not make too much of a fool of myself- hooray! I wonder how the Wii U gamepad will work- only time will tell. Before i wasn't too happy to get Smash on the Wii U just to get the cd, now though i'm very happy to take the plunge
I was very lucky that someone in my streetpass group had the email and gave me a code. Never been too good with stuff like this so am grateful for them giving me a code. Should i get an email i will share a code or two on here as well as my streetpass group. Demo is fairly basic but it's giving me a proper chance to practice so i should be okay when it launches. Good fun though
These books were fantastic when i was in junior school. I remember performing the red planet play from that series and enjoyed it. I expected no less from this series and the fact it's published by Nintendo is great too. Good work guys!
It may seem rubbish but there are those who have bought a Wii U for Just Dance so there will be an audience. Not for me personally but the Voice does have a good install base over here so there could be a chance that some will buy it for this and similar games.
£10.99 is pretty good compared to some of the Skylanders and Infinity figures but Nintendo need to stress what makes them different. Have a minute ad followed by some 30 second ads and keep them on a loop on as many channels as possible. Not that i've pre-ordered them all either....ahem. Well, at least that's some of my Christmas presents sorted so it should be cheaper for me!
Not a surprise really. What i'm more interested in is the PC back up feature. I really hope that this'll apply to original 3ds/xl owners as well. That is damaging sales as i've seen many times on forums people saying they won't buy until it's a unified system. And i don't blame them really! I also want a virtual console which spans both Wii U and 3ds in terms of games on offer. I bet you anything that GBA games will only be available for the new 3ds models. If they do that though, Nintendo had better prepare for the storm ahead. The current 3ds models can handle them fine (i've played them myself and they run well) so there's no excuse. Pereonally i won't be upgrading. From what i've seen there's nothing really that wows me. Xenoblade, while amazing to have it on a handheld, doesn't look as good as the Wii version sorry. I still need to play that on my Wii U as well
@Mega719 um, is this a good time to say my Mario Kart 8 footage was used to promote the game on E4 in May? Still have that special cup on my mantleshelf
On topic, very nice. That new ad is great fun. I think the cat Mario show has been canned because so many people ridiculed Nintendo for doing a poor job of it. Plus Peach was downright creepy What they should do instead is just add subtitles and cut any bits not relevant to us. I do like that show but the British voices made it immature even for young kids. Smash though is sooo close. Eeeeee!
@SockoMario @TeeJay from reports i've read from previews, they've said that the 3ds version is better to grasp and more accessible due to having less buttons to worry about. Having played Brawl with the pro controller, there are quite a lot of combos and buttons (simple things like punch i get but i always mess up what each stick does) and truth be told, an interactive tutorial would have been welcome but making it skipable for the older fans and yes, many newcomers have said exactly the same acroos multiple forums i've been on (no a brisk 90 second video is not enough sorry). In fact, at my last streetpass meeting where we had massive Smash Bros event with Brawl and Melee on the go, even those who have played for years agreed with me on that point. Again playing with the wiimote was so uncomfortable, slow and awkward for me personally and just felt unnatural for a fighting game. As for the gamecube controller, same problem as the pro controller sadly. I'm hoping the 3ds one will finally be the one since i'm comfortable with the 3ds and know the layout so well so no i won't just "forget it." There's no need to scoff at someone who finds the other versions tricky thank you. If you guys can pick it up easily then that's great (i love watching event videos and always get jealous at how they can do those combos so easily) but please don't put those of us down who have had trouble with past versions please. Even Sakurai himself stated he wanted the 3ds controls to be simple enough for new comers to understand and stand a chance at winning and wanted to go back to basics since this would be the first Smash Bros for many people, hence the simple layout for the 3ds version which i've seen in the treehouse videos at E3. I've wanted to join in for so long but no matter how i try i just can't get on with the console versions The 3ds version is looking like the one that'll finally allow me to have a decent time in the very least. As long as i can have some fun and enjoy myself, that's all i want Surely i'm not the only one?
Hoping this'll be easier than brawl. I could not get those controls to save my life. Could be because there's so much to remember! Ah well, this looks like it'll be easier- who knows i could even be quite decent at it
Kinda reminds me of the the Callaway kits and clubs in Mario Golf world tour. Yes it's a sponsorship deal but it's free and can be ignored if need be. Don't forget you'll have to update it otherwise there'll be no more online play.
Nintendo desperately needs to get the unified account system up and running. It's been promised for so long now it's not even funny. They also need to put every NES, SNES and GBA game on the 3ds VC as well and allow cross buy like Sony does. Finally, unlike the PS+, should Nintendo ever allow a pay monthly subscription, any games should be allowed to be kept. You've already paid for them and should be allowed to keep playing them even if you end it. I think another major system update is coming soon- maybe after the next direct?
Expect an update in the next week or so. While i don't mind homebrew i don't like it when there's piracy involved. While the person here has clearly stated that it won't run pirated games, somebody will exploit this code and add it in. I hate region locking too but i guarantee that if this is used when the next update is used, it won't work and could mess up your system. I'd rather be safe than sorry.
Damn that's catchy! Never say never though- remember chibi robot, Ezuma eleven and now Fantasy life and Yokai watch? They said those wouldn't be released but they are in the UK. I would like to see a release. It'll probably be on the eshop if it came over here but with the likes of Theatrhythm, i think it would do quite well!
If it means we still get stuff like Rayman legends and child of light, then i'm cool with that. I'd rather play games which are fun and unique rather than brown/grey bore fests that i've done many times before.
Well nice to know anyway. Mine's pre-ordered physically for £31.99. Not paying an extra £8 for a download copy sorry. Still looking forward to it- it can't come quick enough
For unseen codes and cool bits of info yes. For cheating and piracy, no. I'm glad they haven't decided to wreck it for everyone but sadly others won't be so generous. As long as Nintendo keeps up with its security updates, they stand a chance. I love my Wii U anyway
I'm calling it now- with the miis you'll battle people you have streetpassed. The 3ds version is looking great and i'm glad it's not being treated 2nd class. As for the Wii U, i think what they'll do is focus on the 3ds version then as soon as that is out, the Wii U version will have a massive direct to itself. They haven't forgotten it. I now see though that they were wise to release one version first. There's so much with the 3ds already that adding the Wii U one into the mix at the same time would confuse people. So by doing it this way, they can say wjat is similar but be clear about the differences. All in good time people
I'm cautiously optimistic. While i love Disney, like Skylanders, you only get to use them in that series but i like the fact you can use amiibo with other games. I hope their use is justified though. Nintendo NEED to stress how they can be used with multiple games and that they are OPTIONAL not essential. Skylanders, for example, you have to have at least one of each element, so 8 altogether, to access all areas of the game. If you want 100% though then all the figures are needed. As someone who has a budget, that turns me off. However, i like the idea with amiibo that i only need to buy them only if i want to and aren't essential but can add some extra fun to games. I will be getting them but again price will be a massive factor- Infinity and Skylanders are roughly £11.99 for the normal size figures. If Nintendo said "look, you can use these across multiple games as optional extras and they'll be £9.99" that is more appealing than the others. They need a good strategy plan this Christmas but with some careful planning and maybe a promo or two, Nintendo could walk away the winner here.
Nice to see Mario Kart do so well and when Christmas comes it'll peak once again. I also think the free game helped quite a bit though. But apart from Smash Bros, Bayonetta 2 and Hyrule Warriors, what else is there retail wise for the Wii U? Zero as far as i can see. NO company can survive like that. Captain Toad being pushed back to will hurt sales as that would have easily appealed to othefs. January is an extremely tight month so pushing it back will sadly hurt sales. Those three games appeal to the "hardcore" and Nintendo fans, but for the average Joe there's nothing of interest. Next year the Wii U should finally get going, but to repeat the same mistake of the 3ds and take nearly 2 1/2 years to get it going is terrible. What could happen is that people have so much choice games could lose sales. Great to have that choice but bad for the developers. 3ds is looking like it'll be the leading force this year with Smash bros, Theatrhythm, Fantasy life and Disney magical worlds. Four different games that will target four different groups. I want all those but the last two may have to wait as i want Smash and theatrhythm first. amiibo will definately help but they need to clearly explain to parents that unlike Skylanders/Infinity, they can be used in multiple games and are optional extras only. Make it so it's seen as good value for money! This will be crucial to show that difference as some parents by now have had enough and won't spend any more on these figures. I'm happy with my Wii U and my 3ds is pretty much sorted until the end of the year but i hope things will pick up for Nintendo despite them being the reason why they've lost so much money!
Love it. I'm hoping this will be the Smash i get into. Started with Brawl but had no luck with the controls. Just couldn't grasp them due to my brain fog Still have this on pre order though as it's shaping up really well
These kind of hacks i don't mind. Thwomp ruins looks beautiful as does Rainbow road Had to laugh but impressed they managed to complete a time trial not using the anti-gravity on those tracks!
Damned if you do, damned if you don't. I bet if screenshots were allowed someone would say "oh that's offensive" and would end up with the whole thing being shut down. Although still allowing image share contradicts what they're doing- either allow it or completely stop it (would rather see it allowed but there you are). It's frustrating. Hoping we'll get an answer soon. The very least they should do is allow you to link directly to the upload on their website though.
I like him a lot. He's always polite and warm towards Nintendo. He knows competition is healthy and the fact he enjoys Nintendo games is great too. Only wish others would follow his example!
So no Northern Ireland, Scotland or Wales then? Whoever is in charge of this "tour" should be sacked and replaced with someone who knows that there's more to the UK than just England. This happened last year as well. And they wonder why sales are down when they need to be grabbing people from ALL OVER the UK and not a select area to promote their games and consoles. I hope those who go enjoy but to cut 3/4 of the UK is barmy Maybe the rest of us should do a day boycott of not buying Nintendo products to show them all of the UK matters and not just one part of it
I've seen this series before and some of these kids are really smart. Thing is, in 20 years time, i can see the next generation being unimpressed with the Gamecube (i know shocking but true). It just goes to show how far technology's progressed but i think it's good they're showing them technology from the past as it's educating them and showing them how we got where we are today. Some of the reactions are funny though and i bet we'd be the same if we were their age as well
If anyone has a spare EU code, please feel free to send one to [email protected]. I'm interested too but unsure. I just wish they'd upload it to the eshop.
Ah leave them be. It's their loss in the end. The pubic are a fickle bunch and can drop the flavour of the month at any time. Leaves more room for better games
Excellent news! I too often use the gamepad when my sister watches something on tv or dvd/bluray and thoroughly enjoy it. I did play it on tv last night and again gawped at the lovely graphics- i'm not a graphic fanatic but it looks beautiful <3 I really like the gamepad and it's served me very well, especially when i came out of hospital back in April. Rayman legends was a joy to play and kept me thoroughly entertained but i do need to finish it Christmas for the Wii U is looking brilliant- with MK8, 3D land, Wii Sports club physical release, Bayonetta 2 and Smash Bros, i can imagine this year the slogan will be something like "a console for everyone and anyone who loves games." MK8 will probably pick up again for the summer holidays then just before Christmas. It looks like things are finally moving for the Wii U and i for one am pleased about that
Oh very nice. Especially liking the mid level save feature which will make it less of a pain to play. Also nice that it's free- others would have charged for that...

Good for people like myself who have never played Pokemon and want to try it...not that i, a lady in her mid 20's, haven't of course...ahem......

Re: 3DS Homebrew Channel Reportedly in Final Stages of Development
Expect an update in the next week or so. While i don't mind homebrew i don't like it when there's piracy involved. While the person here has clearly stated that it won't run pirated games, somebody will exploit this code and add it in. I hate region locking too but i guarantee that if this is used when the next update is used, it won't work and could mess up your system. I'd rather be safe than sorry.
Re: Touch Detective Funghi Rhythm Could be Delightfully Weird on 3DS
Damn that's catchy! Never say never though- remember chibi robot, Ezuma eleven and now Fantasy life and Yokai watch? They said those wouldn't be released but they are in the UK. I would like to see a release. It'll probably be on the eshop if it came over here but with the likes of Theatrhythm, i think it would do quite well!
Re: Watch Dogs Will be the Only "Mature" Ubisoft Game on Wii U in Upcoming Lineup
If it means we still get stuff like Rayman legends and child of light, then i'm cool with that. I'd rather play games which are fun and unique rather than brown/grey bore fests that i've done many times before.
Re: Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS File Size is 2.1GB, According to Japanese Packaging
Well nice to know anyway. Mine's pre-ordered physically for £31.99. Not paying an extra £8 for a download copy sorry. Still looking forward to it- it can't come quick enough
Re: Mario Kart 8's Hackers Open Up Over Their Plans and Ethical Dilemma
For unseen codes and cool bits of info yes. For cheating and piracy, no. I'm glad they haven't decided to wreck it for everyone but sadly others won't be so generous. As long as Nintendo keeps up with its security updates, they stand a chance. I love my Wii U anyway
Re: Paper Monsters Recut Will Arrive on the Wii U eShop "Very Soon"
Had it as a free app of the day on my phone a while ago. It's pretty good fun and good to see it's not just a direct port.
Re: More Single Player Details Enter The Battle in Super Smash Bros. For Nintendo 3DS
All in good time people
Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Ambitious amiibo Plans - Pros and Cons
Re: Princess Zelda A "Heroine in Her Own Right", Lucky to Escape a Bungling Rescue From Link
This is why i love Nintendo- when they come up with back stories they're usually barking and funny. Love the Ganon one
Re: Nintendo Reports Losses for Q1 of Financial Year, With Variable Hardware Results
Re: Tomodachi Life Stage Drops Into Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS
Love it. I'm hoping this will be the Smash i get into. Started with Brawl but had no luck with the controls. Just couldn't grasp them due to my brain fog Still have this on pre order though as it's shaping up really well
Re: Mario Kart 8 Hackers Show More Mods and an Unused 'Track'
These kind of hacks i don't mind. Thwomp ruins looks beautiful as does Rainbow road Had to laugh but impressed they managed to complete a time trial not using the anti-gravity on those tracks!
Re: Video: Here are Plenty of Awesome Super Mario Bros. 3 Glitches to Try Yourself
Been playing that game for 20 odd years and i never knew some of that existed And to think a game that old still hides so much
Re: Screenshots Disabled in Comic Workshop Miiverse Community
Damned if you do, damned if you don't. I bet if screenshots were allowed someone would say "oh that's offensive" and would end up with the whole thing being shut down. Although still allowing image share contradicts what they're doing- either allow it or completely stop it (would rather see it allowed but there you are). It's frustrating. Hoping we'll get an answer soon. The very least they should do is allow you to link directly to the upload on their website though.
Re: Sony's Shuhei Yoshida Says Nintendo Provides Balance In An Industry Obsessed With Military Shooters
I like him a lot. He's always polite and warm towards Nintendo. He knows competition is healthy and the fact he enjoys Nintendo games is great too. Only wish others would follow his example!
Re: Nintendo UK Details The 3DS & 2DS "Made For Play" Tour 2014
So no Northern Ireland, Scotland or Wales then? Whoever is in charge of this "tour" should be sacked and replaced with someone who knows that there's more to the UK than just England. This happened last year as well. And they wonder why sales are down when they need to be grabbing people from ALL OVER the UK and not a select area to promote their games and consoles. I hope those who go enjoy but to cut 3/4 of the UK is barmy Maybe the rest of us should do a day boycott of not buying Nintendo products to show them all of the UK matters and not just one part of it
Re: Video: You Really Don't Want To Know What Kids These Days Think Of The Game Boy
Some of the reactions are funny though and i bet we'd be the same if we were their age as well
Re: Guide: Sharing The Love With The Tomodachi Life Welcome Version
If anyone has a spare EU code, please feel free to send one to [email protected]. I'm interested too but unsure. I just wish they'd upload it to the eshop.
Re: EA Explains Why Its Abandoning Dedicated Handhelds For Smartphones And Tablets
Ah leave them be. It's their loss in the end. The pubic are a fickle bunch and can drop the flavour of the month at any time. Leaves more room for better games
Re: Mario Kart 8 Speeds Past The Two Million Copies Sold Barrier In Less Than A Month
Rayman legends was a joy to play and kept me thoroughly entertained but i do need to finish it
Christmas for the Wii U is looking brilliant- with MK8, 3D land, Wii Sports club physical release, Bayonetta 2 and Smash Bros, i can imagine this year the slogan will be something like "a console for everyone and anyone who loves games." MK8 will probably pick up again for the summer holidays then just before Christmas. It looks like things are finally moving for the Wii U and i for one am pleased about that
Re: Exclusive: Free Mutant Mudds Deluxe 3DS Update Arrives on 3rd July
Oh very nice. Especially liking the mid level save feature which will make it less of a pain to play. Also nice that it's free- others would have charged for that...
