While the Wii U version of Super Smash Bros. has had a rather neat Star Fox stage revealed this week, Masahiro Sakurai hasn't left out those looking forward to the 3DS iteration. Its new stage for this week is based on Tomodachi Life, set in a house from the game's island.
It looks rather charming, and certainly brings to mind some other stages set in buildings from other entries; a neat touch is that Mii characters on your 3DS will randomly appear in the background to watch the action unfold. The details from Sakurai-san's Pic of the Day are below.
Pic of the day. This is the Tomodachi Life stage that's exclusive to the 3DS version! The front walls of the apartments disappear so you can see the area within when a fighter overlaps with the room. The rooms are randomly placed and selected from among several types. Planting an X Bomb behind a wall might be an effective tactic.
You might run into a Mii living in the room! The Mii characters are taken from the data in your 3DS system, so you could find your friends living in the apartments.
Are you happy with this 3DS-exclusive stage, and are there any other 3DS titles you'd like to see appear in the game? Let us know.

That's awesome. I love it. Especially the Mii idea.
If the took the data from the game and had your players in their room that would be extra cool.... But that would probably be asking of too much.
I so hope it will be playable at SDCC, even tho I can't attend, because I wanna see if the Mii's just walk around or if they do more stuff, and I just wanna see more of the stage. Doubt it tho.
Awesome! I hope we'll have the same for Wii U with Miis appearing. Like maybe Wii Sports stage where our Miis are playing Bowling etc.
It's about time we found put what this stage really was. I thought it was weird that we got that one mysterious PotD of this stage a long time ago and never saw it again, not even in the Super Smash Bros. Direct.
Isn't Tomodachi Life a brawler already? Or are my eyes deceiving me?

Love it. I'm hoping this will be the Smash i get into. Started with Brawl but had no luck with the controls. Just couldn't grasp them due to my brain fog Still have this on pre order though as it's shaping up really well
Not sure what I like more of this stage, the fact is based on Tomodachi life or the resemblance to the Luigi Mansion stage in Brawl.
I can't avoid to wonder if it will be possible to even destory the whole building... Those pesky always demanding Miis need to learn a lesson in the hard way XP
Dam 4:20 a.m. and im awake
This looks awesome! october and november can't come soon enough...

Yeah, this isn't really a new stage, but its good to get more details on it.
We have known about this stage for quite a long time now just not all of it.
I find it funny how Sakurai neglected a Mii Fighter from these pictures. When are they going to shine in Sakurai's joke posts?
I downloaded Tomodachi Life because of this sites love for it, but I couldnt get in it. Found it to be boring and extremely repetitive. 35$ wasted oh well...
I really wanted the Mii's moveset to be things from Tomodachi Life and from Wii Party U, but ah well. This stage looks really fun though
We keep seeing info about 3DS-exclusive stages... are there any WiiU exclusive stages announced yet?
Great.... Now is Nintendolife about to write 50+ Articles about how everyone should play on this stage?
@Luigifan141 Yep.
This stage was already revealed several months ago as the Tomodachi Life stage.
Nice to see a full outlook for it though.
@LavaTwilight Are you kidding me? We JUST got the Starfox stage!
I want a Rusty stage, with the dog himself and his big family. Doubt it since it would not make sense in Europe.
Sakurai seriously needs to announce some sort of Wii U-exclusive feature for Smash Bros. 3DS has Smash Run; what does the Wii U have? There has to be an incentive to wait a couple extra months AND pay $20 more for the Wii U version.
Pretty cool me thinks. I like the idea of the walls appearing and disappearing when someone is in front of them. The Miis inside I dont see as that much of a big deal as each room is pretty tiny and you'll be busy fighting, but its still a nice touch for those with quick enough fingers to snap photos to post on Miiverse.
Speaking of Miiverse, can someone please tell me how to get the color Pictograph in WW HD? Finally Getting into the Nintendo Gallery was a bit anticlimatic.
Actually looks really good, might have to get the 3DS version as well as the Wii U/
@Dr_Corndog - Day 1 amiibo? Four player couch multiplayer w/ only 1 console?
Thoigh I can imagine a lot of solo players will agree with you. But with 48 million 3DS and only 8 million Wii U I think we all know which version will sell better regardless.
@rjejr
Don't forget HD graphics and different controller options
I don't like the fact that the walls appear over the section where your character was at.. There is a lot of moving in the game so it would constantly be switching to a nice view with a mii.. to a wall often >. < Makes me nauseated just by imagining it happening.
Reminds me of the Luigi's Mansion stage from Brawl. All the same, it looks good. Really looking forward to October 3rd.
As someone who has been playing Tomodachi Life everyday since release, I really love this!
I love that it'll use your Mii data.
Nice touch Sakurai.
I love this stage!!! Who's excited for comic con!!?
This was announced ages ago
There was a bunch of new pics released for WiiU/3DS today, one of them showed a sonic stage for 3DS.
Not that impressed...because I'm almost getting as tired of Tomodachi Life as I am with Animal Crossing!
I think a Flipnote themed stage would be cool. It would be similar to the Pictochat Brawl stage, but with a Flipnote Frog!!
@sinalefa - Does 3DS have bluetooth, maybe they could release a bluetooth Gamecube controller
This stage actually looks cool, and I like the multilayered platforms for each house floor. and it's surprising to see a more up-to-date stage from a more recent game, (seeing how they don't usually keep these games up-to-date seeing how Brawl had a "Sunshine" stage, and such)
Also, glad to see a classic Sonic stage for 3DS, considering Sonic fans were quite divided over the "Lost World" game.
@Beau_Skunk Tomodachi Life was released April 2013 in Japan though.
Cool stage, but it was first shown in that picture with Villager and Wii Fit Trainer a while back.
If you were to ask me which 2 songs should be included, I would pick the Title Theme and the Family Album/Credits theme because that was a good song that would fit in well.
Which handheld stage do I want to see? Bowser's Insides. Bowser's Inside Story was such a good game.
@outburst That...would be AWESOME.
