@SteamEngenius without loading roms, it is just a huge hunk of plastic indeed. Strange thing is that the console seems that was made for roms, as it have 4 face buttons (unlike any gameboy or gamegear), and you can't properly press the R and L buttons if there is a game on the slot.
@Yosher don't feat cfw, you can easily split the switch in somewhat dual boot mode. When you turn on you choose if you enter on the unmodded OS or on the custom OS, they are sandboxed, so you will never be banned on your original firmware, never.
There are also layers of protection on the custom firmware, it can't connect to Nintendo servers if you so choose, and you can get a fake serial number, so Nintendo will not know who you are.
If you follow the guide (and today it is not hard at all), the risk is zero, not close to zero but indeed zero.
Quite impressive! In a given part of Portal, a character (that like everything else is AI) starts to run in a potato. That potato may be faster than an actual N64 hardware.
A land with a ocean in the middle is the most common thing ever both in games and real life. You can't say that every thing that reminds a bay is a super Mario World Map.
The tag "fan of child" is indeed disturbing, but it's a Michael Jackson mii tagged as fan of child. I don't know if it is good for the community, but no one can argue that it is inaccurate.
Many early reviews state that the aspect ratio and colors are wrong, compatibility with wired controller is bad and the image is blurry. So why bother with this solution?
@Gitface 16 y-o people would need to ask daddy for the money anyway. Those 18+ sets are more complex, more premium and way more expansive. You need an adult job to afford it by yourself.
What worth more more? The original Divine Comedy written by Dante himself or the English translation of the Divine Comedy from that timeframe written by someone nobody cares about?
My point is that people put too much value in games they were localized to English by some dude without talent, and treat the originals (usually japanese) as garbage.
For exemple, the ultra valuable sealed super Mario bros has a box art that has not the creator's vision on it just because it was not made by the game's original team. So historically has much less value than the japanese version.
@BloodNinja 8bitdo is inaccurate in representing the original snes controller feeling, I don't know if a wrote wrong or something. I never said they're inaccurate in sending inputs or something like that.
@BloodNinja you can say 8bitdo is better, it's is subjective, but the clicly membranes are inaccurate, that's objectively true. There are people who cares about accuracy there are the ones who don't.
There are fools like me that never stopped playing snes since it was current gen, so for fools like us, 8bitdo is just wrong (for snes, for switch games I use it a lot).
@BloodNinja not the same thing at all, not even the models that use the same snes mold. 8bitdo uses the modern clicky feel. The snes controller is spongy, feels totally different.
For some reason the OG membranes are borderline impossible to find, probably even for 8bitdo.
@River3636 Sony's service is about cloud based classic games for the most part. Current games will be playable locally, but games on playstation lose their value badly after the release window, so they are not giving that much.
Activision, EA, Microsoft are examples os companies that do every single decision based on stock prices. That's why we have games as a service, microtransactions and game subscriptions so hard on those companies. So I hope Nintendo keeps not caring about stocks as much as those companies do.
I don't know why the poll joked about Super Circuit when it's indeed better than double dash. It's fake 3D is a work of art, and the track design is flawless (unlike Double Dash that tries to be goofy or something like that).
Also, all previous entries of MK had to work hard around hardware limitations, Double Dash was the first free from that, and it didn't make the game more fun to play than the oldies.
Microsoft invented the paid online, the broken games on released date, the day one paid DLCs, the season passes, the full price microtransaction based games and Nintendo is slowing learning all of that awesome features.
Now super smart people are asking for Nintendo to copy their DRM based and anti-physical way to monetize game. That's awesome!!! Pay but never own!!! That's the future!!!
there's a lot to do post game, but the opportunities devs lost for post game are still way beyond that. Back on black 2 white 2 there were a feature where the player was set to build and manage a mall, Breath of The Wild the player can build a home and a city, but legends arceus has nothing like that, despite have space and plot supporting some kind of development.
@RubyCarbuncle the three mythical pokemon being distributed are NOT SHINY LOCKED, witch means that they are extremely welcome additions. Competitive stuff is something few care anyway but shiny pokemon is something everybody loves.
@Tobiaku I was joking, switch do not need porn (anime porn even less). A safe environment is everything for parents, aka people who indeed have the money.
@Kiz3000 I agree, the effects of the war may hurt world's economy beyond the expected. Video game is a luxury in the end, people will not buy/gift consoles and games when real life bills are biting hard.
At least 20, 30 years from now those physical media will hold some value. Unlike digital. Also on those times at last the European physical games are not slowed down incompatible trash, like it once were.
@Bret Agreed, but the ice cream alone is worse than everything bad gamefreak produced all summed up. Even the infamous sword/shield tree is way better looking than that pokemon family.
He is not a Pokemon designer, he is the WORST Pokemon designer. He created the Ice Cream pokemon, and he did it 3 times (it is an evolution family), he deserves no forgiveness.

@Korgon as a father of two I really have peace of mind letting my kids play on switch, I know they will not communicate unsupervised because there isn't a web browser or a message system.
As an adult player, I don't care about those features because I have a smartphone.
So instead of lazyness or incompetence, I believe that the lack of those features is a planed move to please the actual customer (many times the gamer is just a moneyless annoying teenager, and not the actual person that puschase stuff)
gamepass has hundreds of games that are sold for $1 each on second hand market.
NSO has a handful of games but they costs hundreds. This is value.
Most people complaining are who don't care about classic games, and to be honest, switch is not the better choice for them anyway. For those who care for the classics the service is very good, not nearly as good as WiiU VC, but still good.
the writer forgot that there is Mario Kart on snes, and the ghost tracks are simply amazing on that game. With all snes limitations you almost feel the ground texture when driving, and those tracks have tricky shortcuts hidden, they are AMAZING.
Aside of that, the bowser tracks are amazing too, and the Mario Circuit 2 is super suitable to the glide now present in mario kart 8.
