Re: Random: Check Out This Adorable 'Coat' For Your SNES

@The_BAAD_Man Trust me, it's fine, the only component that goes anything significant above room temperature on Super Famicom is the voltage regulator, and it is not too much.

The original power supply gets really hot, but it is external, so no problems there either.

Re: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe To Undergo Maintenance Later Today

No direct is coming, no relevant system update, no DLC. It's just maintenance.
When you are in a public place, like a train station and see a sign saying that the bathroom is under maintenance, you don't expect to see Captain Falco inside that bathroom after that.

Re: Pokémon Legends: Arceus Is 'Exhilarating' And At Times 'Surprisingly Difficult' According To Japanese Media

This game is way better than Sword/Shield. They simplified a lot the battle mechanics (you can buff or debuff just only one stage, and the said buffs apply both to physical and special at same time, also there is no abilities or held items) , so I see some complaining there, but the gameplay is so satisfying that you don't fell that is missing. Boss battles are clunky, but there is only 5 of those, so it is not a issue.

The world is really vast and the game gives you a lot of ways to enjoy it faster (I'll keep this part spoiler free).

First time on a pokemon game that I felt free, that's the summary for me.

Re: Masayuki Uemura, Creator Of The NES And SNES, Has Passed Away

Both NES and SNES uses the same formula: usage of very reliable and very widespread components, as opposed as the new and cutting edge thing. Maybe he had a saying on that strategy.

Nintendo did this again with other consoles like the Wii and the Switch.

It is an amazing concept that give customers a very reliable and durable product. Tech-kid hate it tho.

"most of these devices run the same kind of thing – emulators for classic systems like the NES, SNES, Mega Drive and Game Boy"

Unlike polimega, that can't run any of those systems, and yet Nintendo Life tells us every 3 or 4 weeks how awesome, life changing and innovative polymega is.

But for whatever reason those systems (that are sofware emulators as well) don't get nearly the same love.

Re: Analogue Pocket Is Getting Its Own OS - Allowing Users To Explore, Discover And Preserve Video Game History

@dimi a GBA + IPS screen is way cheaper but it is not apples to apples here. The Analogue product is dockable (so you save a whole GameCube setup here to play on tv) and has a 1440p low latency screen. Also have rechargeable batteries out of the box and supports Game Gear, Neo Geo Pocket and Atari Lynx. It is not confirmed but sideloading ROMs have been always present on Analogue products, so you will not need an everdrive.

On other hand, GBA can connect to the GameCube, a feature that I doubt Analogue will deliver.

So what is the best option is something that will change from person to person.
