Re: UK Charts: Pokémon Let's Go Still Clinging Onto Top Ten, Now Outperforming Pokémon X And Y

I believe the only reason it is doing well is because a lot of the switch user base has nostalgia for Nintendo and Pokemon. If we could see game play hours compared to all of the other pokemon games it would be a lot lower. The game ends very quickly and has very little value as far as replay-ability or even end game content. I gave it a very generous chance, spent a lot of extra time filling my dex and what not and still beat the game in under 30 hours.

TL/DR If you are an actual Pokemon fan and still on the fence I would hold on and wait for a real Pokemon game.

I just can't bring myself to do any of these, if the product is worth buying someone will invest in it and I will buy it when it is a real solid product and I can actually hold it in my hands. I don't get why people are so eager to jump in and be funding for these projects with no payoff. You might get a slight discount on a products but I have watched a number of products and when they do make it out they often sell for the same price, this game if it ever comes out will likely be a 14.99 eshop title.

@rjejr Torchlight is definitely more cartoony, my original response was really only factoring playing arcade and not the whole story of the game for some reason. I guess I have not played that portion of it in so long it didn't come to mind. The story is certainly why it got rated M, the game play and majority of the visuals are not.

In my personal opinion though there are different types of mature content with video games. There are games like Diablo, Resident Evil, Left 4 Dead, you get the idea. And then games like Postal, GTA,Manhunt... I would not let kids play the latter but the former I think depends on the kid.

@rjejr I played Diablo when I was 13, I honestly think it is one of the ones that has that rating because of the whole Devil thing. There is death but it is mostly killing demons and other monsters that come around. There are some images of people impaled on spears and stuff as you walk around some pretty grim scenes but all in all it is just aesthetics. I have seen children shows that have similar themes. It is a great game for someone new to it though and should offer many hours of entertainment.

@The_Pixel_King It actually came out while I have been in the process of moving so I have been playing it entirely handheld and half the time using a hotspot on my phone. It runs amazing, if I have seen the resolution go as low as this article says I have not noticed it because I was busy shooting stuff.
