I loved Kingdom but couldn’t get into Sparks of Hope. The challenge was off in the sequel with reliance on reinforcement portals instead of strategic vision. Rabbids and story are beyond awful.
For Engage, I really think the main character’s two color hair/eyes was too much and cost them sales. Also, not having the past Fire Emblem games in some form on switch and Engage including past heroes as main point left new fans out of the loop.
Game was a huge disappointment. The Mario sports games should have been great but they have all been barebones junk. NL giving them high scores is part of the problem.
There sounds like good number of downgrades with the annoying voices and unclear actions with free movement. I always like the precision of a grid in turn based games. Going to pick it up at $15 after a few months knowing Ubisoft.
NL please don’t write an article for any of this NFT scam stuff. Yes it’s a video game company but if we all ignore it then it will go away and they can focus on games.
Excited for most of these, especially, Mario Kingdom, and Advanced Wars. What Midnight Suns game turned out to be was a big miss from me and I now have zero interest. A shame as XCOM is my all time favorite games and XCOM 2 is my most played game on the Switch.
Salt takes the blame for the war but it was really Pepper from the shadows. (Comment sections 10 minutes later with tons of responses for real wars Pepper started instead of Salt)
I gave it a chance but it just didn’t work and drains the battery like crazy. It tracked steps while the app was open but I got none when it was in the background and kept saying walk 500 steps on the goal screen when I had thousands on the main screen so very buggy. Gameplay seemed like needlessly complicated junk. I don’t think it will last a year on the market.
Enjoying it but map stinks and so easy to have no idea where to go. After saving the nun, I couldn’t find where to continue and map is worthless. Really hard to know when can’t progress because need a special item or the path is just janky.
Everspace was great but I haven’t been able to get into any other rogue likes. Hades, and Slay the Spire had fantastic reviews but for me the randomness and repetitiveness ruined the fun. Addictive gameplay seems to be the goal in many more than enjoyment.
They have already gone into scummy territory so not surprising. Bottom of the barrel is fine for them as long as can make a buck off people who base purchases of fear of missing out.
Heavily overrated game. People talk up the story but the game design of a journal tracking you need to talk to each character 50 more times to advance a tiny piece of that character is an awful chore. All the encounters feel samey and repeating over and over sucked any enjoyment. If the boons weren’t random and temporary and instead of one of the permanent rpg trees then I could see it being enjoyable. Don’t fall for the reviews and imagine how much you like repeating, samey combat with an insignificant drip of progression. Not worth the time.
10 is overrated for this game. People talk up the story but the game design of a journal tracking you need to talk to each character 50 more times to advance a tiny piece of that character is an awful chore. All the encounters feel samey and repeating over and over sucked any enjoyment. I have realized Supergiant’s games aren’t for me and won’t be buying whatever they come out with regardless of the reviews.
Not much for me and some frustration spiking areas. SteamDeck is going to fill a lot of the gaps that Nintendo’s force errors are making. N64 emulation costing more for NSO was the low point.
The small confined grid is big turn off for me. I prefer tactical games with diverse maps that have cover, and vertically, like XCOM or Mario Kingdom. These feel more like puzzle games to me.
I watched a video on Steam for it and think the grid area is too basic. I would like to see larger areas with vertical locations. The movement area was so small that flanking and positioning seemed mute. There was some cover but shooting at each-other always a few spaces away seems boring. I also didn’t get a sense the animal characters were differentiated; more just regular characters with animal faces.
@jump randomly dealt hands at the start of the mission is what is sinking it as tactical XCom. Imagine building a XCom character up only to have a few of their abilities available in the mission. This game adding RNG to actual abilities you have available is what ruins it for me.
@PJOReilly since the game has been abandoned by developers and is still buggy mess with critical bugs, you really need to revise this review. 9/10 gives an appearance of quality that just isn’t there and the last patch actual introduced new bugs they will never address. I know at the time you assumed parches would smooth the experience out but that is not the case and readers deserve an update.
@Spoony_Tech i also had no idea it was turn based and much more appealing now. If it can match the gameplay and difficulty of Mario Kingdom I will pick it up.
Doubt they offer it but permadeath be nice option for TBS veterans.
Looks cool. I am excited about procedural generated if It is rewarding exploration and liking the ship gameplay. Everspace changed my mind for procedural generation, and I think sailing the sea is a good comparable to hoping around in space.
I was most excited for the Subnautica announcement and if coming with a physical release even more awesome. I hope the physical is a collection of both games but imagine they are too big to fit on a cart.
Big N is going to come down on this. BeatemUps was dropped from the Nintendo ambassador program a week after airing a similar mod video. He didn’t want to believe it was the mod video but the timing was pretty clear.
Fire Emblem at #11 is a tragedy. It is better to know the reviewers of this site have differing tastes and long rpgs aren’t possible for them when they spend most of your time editing videos instead of playing games.
@Krambo42 I think it greatly limits potential customers. People that enjoy playing Docked on the big screen are out of luck. Of the handheld players, a percentage don't like mobile focused touch controls and another percentage that don't want finger smudges on the screen. Lastly, it speaks to the level of effort of the port, if they just rip and ship it from mobile as is without controller support.

Re: Rumour: Ubisoft May Be Working On An Animal Crossing Competitor
Underperform will be the most used word for this project.
Re: Mario + Rabbids Producer Leaves Ubisoft Milan After "16 Incredible Years"

Re: Reaction: Shadow Drops & Surprises - A Stuffed Direct With Something For Everyone
Was a dud for me. Normally I enjoy watching even for ones not for me but not with this one. Some really loved it so more to them
Re: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom: Orochium Shrine Solution
Having to randomly trigger the lasers is a bunch of BS.

Meh. The expansion price spoiled any interest in anymore Animal Crossing.

The $50 price is ridiculous. Emulators on the SteamDeck are all the more attractive now.

I am sure the next game will be Pokémon Extinction to drop the numbers back down. It will go over well with fans as only a few species will survive.

It looks interesting but not sold on the three factions being versions of Zombie, Skeleton, Ghost. They didn’t click with me.

This isn’t even a joke. Saying they needed crowd funding for a completed game was more of a joke. Lame and shame.
Re: Jump King, A 'Tactical Leaping Adventure', Hops From PC To Switch Later This Year
