A new trailer has been released for King of Seas, an action-RPG planned to launch on Switch this autumn.
The video shows off some of the gameplay you can expect to enjoy when the game releases later this year, including quick glimpses of its all-important ship-based combat. It comes with the following description:
King of Seas is an Action Role playing game set in a deadly procedurally generated pirate world. In a ferocious plot you will fight to regain what has been taken away and embark on an epic adventure in a fantastic world, filled with battles, lost islands and treasures. A universe full of amazing characters and breathtaking missions will keep you anchored as you strive to become the king of all pirates.
We first reported on this one back in July, when Italian developer 3DClouds revealed that it was its "most ambitious" title to date and the game's first set of screenshots were revealed.
We're still waiting on an exact release date for the game, but we'll make sure to update you as soon as know more. Until then, feel free to share your thoughts on King of Seas in the comments below.

If wasn't for the legend bellow the article, you guys fooled me.. lol.. with the bought of Bethesda first thing I thought Microsoft, don't forget we're friends ahn?? hehehe
Well timed preview as I was actually thinking about this game just last night, and was curious as to where it was in development since I read about it last.
First alarm bell was it being procedurally generated. Second was that it seems you don’t leave the ship. I’ll keep an eye on it until I can read some reviews in detail.
Pirates you say? Where do I sign?
The art style is nice, I like what I see so far so this will most likely end up on my play list.
@FX102A If it's going to be like Sunless Sea then the only thing that will be 'procedurally' are the locations of the islands.
For me, this won’t cut it and Black Flag is still king of pirate games, pun-intended.
Would love to see Microsoft cut the exclusive leash on Sea of Thieves and port it to Switch. With its animated art style it would be perfect to port.
Under The Jolly Roger looks better than this.
@Mrrabbitpuncher I still worry that having procedural generation it will potentially impact the experience due to the need to take precautions and apply limitations to prevent the generation of a layout that is impossible to beat. Also how the general ramping of difficulty is meant to go. Of course I don’t know how the algorithms work so maybe it’ll work out.
So are we all tired of procedurally generated games yet?
Looks good. One step closer to getting a game like Atlas on the Switch.
Looks cool. I am excited about procedural generated if It is rewarding exploration and liking the ship gameplay. Everspace changed my mind for procedural generation, and I think sailing the sea is a good comparable to hoping around in space.
A lot of fun art in this one, though I'm a little unsure if it's my kind of game.
