Re: Nintendo Says Switch User Playtime Is Split 50-50 Between Docked And Handheld

Turrican280

20 docked 80 handheld.

I loved both modes. Handheld is just so good for picking up and playing without being stuck in one place, or when the other half is watching tv.

However I do think docked mode is great for being able to appreciate the beauty of games like BOTW and Odyssey on a big screen.

The great thing is I am able to get more gaming in than I have done for a long time with both modes available. I find myself choosing the Switch over the PS4 and PC a lot of the time because it is so much more accessible and flexible, therefore fitting in with a busy lifestyle.

Re: Review: Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy (Switch)

Crash bandicoot was really brilliant game at the time and having played this on the PS4, I can confirm it is still great. An 8.5 for me if you’re wondering 👍

Unfortunately when up against a certain plumber who revolutionized 3D games, you are up the creek (see what I did there) and will always be remembered as second best. But that is not a slight against Crash; Mario 64 was just that good and no game has ever done what Mario 64 did for 3D let alone future expectations for any game.

However I feel Crash has a special place in anyone’s game collection and really do hope this series gets properly revived with the treatment it deserves!

Mario 64 will always be king, but you can still enjoy Crash as well as Mario ☺️

So the Switch is a pretty dam powerful console.

I have a PS4 and have waited for this version; graphics aren’t a big deal to me, so long as they are decent and servicable. Therefore I am very happy with the amazing job Panic button have done with this superb port!

Got to say this game really interests me. I loved Tribes: Ascend by Hi-Rez studios and was gutted they discontinued it. Playing Fortnite a lot at the mo, how does this compare in your opinion guys in the funness factor? I know they are two very different games but really only have time for one shooter atm.

Re: Review: Fallout Shelter (Switch eShop)

This is better suited to mobiles. Picking up a game to play 5-10 minutes here and there is something best suited to a phone as you always have it in your pocket.

Played it on my phone and enjoyed it for a few days then it became stale for me.

BUT Bethesda are giving the Switch great suport so I can’t really knock them, especially as this is free to play.

Re: Review: Fortnite (Switch eShop)

I’m really enjoying it so far.

I think it really is what you make of it. I like playing it stealthily and using the land for cover. I feel if you went in guns blazing and got killed in the first couple of minutes every round it would get boring quickly.

I can understand the hype.

A free game which does microtansactions right.

Re: Nintendo Expects Third-Party Ports To Arrive On Switch Much Quicker From Next Year

Turrican280

Good news. I agree with Reggie.

The more of a success the Switch becomes, the harder it becomes for 3rd party developers to ignore it.

Although I have a PS4, I really do prefer playing 3rd party games on my Switch. Granted the graphics will never be the same, but I just like the portability. If a game had a similar release window on both platforms I would hold off for the Switch version.

@ThanosReXXX
Now that is interesting, I never knew that the other mini’s could play N64 games!

Also looking at your earlier comment about your list of 20 games for the N64 mini. I just had a look at all the games I would love on a mini, which don’t include Rare game and the list is really awesome! I think there are actaully too many that I’d want on it to fit onto it! 😄

Re: Nintendo Applies For New N64 Trademark - Is Another Classic Edition On The Way?

An N64 mini would be a dream for me! As others have already pointed out, a deal between Microsoft and Nintendo isn’t unthinkable. Even Without the Rare games there are more than enough games for me (though they would be very welcome.)

The graphics do not bother me one bit. As @ThanosReXXX mentioned, they are really not as bad as people think. I actually like the N64 graphics and the nostalgia they bring to me. Gameplay and story are more important to me.

I also think that part of the allure of these mini consoles is the form itself. I would much rather have a miniaturised version of a console than a disc or digital bundle of them.

Yes, it will be harder to make than the other mini’s, but as shown with the other mini consoles there is a huge demand for them. It makes sense to me, considering Nintendo will not be continuing with the virtual console.

Re: Kimishima Says Nintendo Has Plans For The 3DS In 2019 And Beyond

It makes massive business sense to Nintendo. And we all want Nintendo to do well.

It is also for great for younger gamers, people who can’t afford a switch and many other people for differering reasons. It isn’t harming the switch; if it was, Nintendo would have stopped producing it.

I like my 3DS and even though I haven’t played it in a while, I still have games like Luigi’s mansion 2 and many others I have yet to play. I will also be playing the remake of the original LM, even though I have played it to death on my gamecube.
