I pretty much always prefer getting hard copies of Nintendo's games, but I'm not against getting digital games, especially in cases of digital or nothing, which might apply to Fatal Frame. That said, I'd be very against the NX only supporting digital games. While downloading games can be convenient (even if it's often slower than going to the store), the digital market tends to be more expensive outside of major sales, and there's always that worry that, for one reason or another, you'll lose access to the games in the future. There's also a chance that the games will become unobtainable in the future due to a closure of the digital shop, so if you don't get them while it's open, you won't be able to.
I disagree with the attack on the Wii U's internal storage, though. The fact is, if the Wii U had come with more storage, it would have cost more (unless Nintendo took a loss). If that's what you want, you shouldn't have a problem paying more for storage now, since you saved money then. At least now, three years later, your dollars will buy more GBs than they would have then.
I would definitely get Costume Quest 2 (been waiting for a sale) but I got it for $6 on PSN back in August. I'd love to have it on the Wii U, but I'm not sure I want to double dip, especially when I bought (and started) the PS3 version so recently. I will be downloading the demos, including Fatal Frame, though.
@Tiberius30 That's like saying removing an illustration from a book makes it less complete. The costumes were never important, and their absence has little to no effect on the game or its content.
I got the game for a buck in a flash sale on PSN. It's great in co-op, but I thought it was frustrating to play alone. I'm glad it's coming to the Wii U, but I probably won't be getting it again.
I love the show, and the game looks pretty good. That said, it's still a licensed game, so I'll wait for a review. Also, is "Big Grin" the European equivalent of Disney XD, or did they change the name since I stopped getting "premium" channels?
And is this the first time the UbiArt engine has been on the 3DS, or was Rayman Origins built on it?
@TomKnows Nintendo had the file limit in place from the beginning. Team Meat knew about it, and promised the game would come out on the Wii. They then proceeded to surpass the file limit, and blame Nintendo for not bending the rules for them when it couldn't come out.
I have it on PC from a Humble Bundle I got years ago, but even if I didn't, I have no desire to support this developer after the Meat Boy Wii debacle and the creation of BoI. So yeah, not interested.
@PlywoodStick Strange. As I understand it, unions have been exercising their right to free speech, including political involvement, for decades. They didn't just get that right in 2010. It was also my understanding that the government was unable to affect or censor churches in any way, despite them being organizations rather than individuals.
Actually, and ironically, the public has all of the say. The wealthy, incorporated or not, can only spread their message. It's the people who choose who gets elected. McDonald's being able to pay for political commercials doesn't change the fact that McDonald's doesn't get a vote in the next election.
The Patriot Act, unless I'm missing something, is about surveillance, not censorship, and the Espionage Act only allows censorship of things directly related to national security. So no, the government cannot just censor anything it wants.
With the rise of social media, that's becoming less and less true. These days there are probably more people on Youtube than who watch the news or read the paper. You don't need to be wealthy to be heard by thousands on Youtube. Wealth can act as a sort of megaphone to get messages out, but that's about all it can do. The people are the ones who vote, so the people are the ones with the power. The wealthy just try to convince the people of their message.
@PlywoodStick An association of people is a group of individuals, each with 1st Amendment rights. Besides, if only individuals have the right to free speech, the government would have the power to freely censor books, which are usually published by companies, not individuals. That would go for games, music, and movies too. It would also mean that unions could be banned from political involvement, which is a form of free speech, because they are groups, not individuals. Also, if the 1st Amendment only applied to individuals, how would that affect churches? They are religious organizations, not individuals.
Having money has no influence on what rights you have. Bill Gates, despite being worth more than The Pokemon Company, still has the same rights as you or me. Because he's so incredibly wealthy, he can better promote his speech, but his speech is no more and no less protected than ours. Wealth does not dictate rights.
After all this guy's doing, it's really not surprising. He used the Pokemon property to draw customers and make money. Even if his motives were just to have fun, he did it as a business and money was involved. Just like Walmart can't put out a commercial featuring Pikachu without permission, this guy can't put Pikachu on a flyer and say "come to my cafe". After they came to an agreement, he then went online and painted the Pokemon Company as something of a villain to get sympathy money, supposedly unaware that TPC might not appreciate that, and in response pull their relatively easy agreement.
@PlywoodStick Actually, that case recognized corporations as associations of people, deciding that their 1st Amendment right couldn't be infringed just because they were incorporated.
@Yorumi I don't think the morality here is so cut and dry. After all, the guy stole the Pokemon IP, which is worth hundreds of thousands of times more than the fee they agreed on. On top of that, it's not like he was just some random guy having a party at his house. He was doing this at his own business. It boils down to a small business stealing, inadvertently or not, from a big business, and the big business going relatively easy on him, but not just letting him off the hook completely.
It seems harsh, but he was using Pokemon's IP to bring people in. Whether he profited from the tickets or not is irrelevant. He brought in customers using someone else's property, and charged them for entry. You can't do that.
To those saying Nintendo should have just sent him usable ads, that's not really how it works either. To protect their IP, they'd need/want significant control over the event (what was served, what was played, what was given away, etc) before they endorsed it. They might not want Pikachu to be the face of an event that features competing games, or which has an environment counter to the one Nintendo wants for Pokemon.
While I think Pokemon Co. should have let him pay over time, or even reduce the fee, they were in the right here. It was their property, and they have every reason and right to defend it.
@Dr_Corndog That's not entirely true. While I'm generally pro-PC for 3rd party games, there are reasons to go with consoles other than exclusive games. First, there's innovation. You'd never get something like the Wii, Wii U, or 3DS on PC, because a PC is just a rig with a keyboard, or a controller borrowed from a console. Then there's the consistency. My brother built a pretty great gaming rig a few years ago. From the beginning, it had issues running games, not because it couldn't, but because the games were optimized for different hardware or not optimized at all. As I understand it, that's not uncommon for PC's. Then there's price. His gaming rig cost about triple the price of a console, and while it can outdo the PS4, that's still a high price. And finally, there's the convenience. While you can do just about anything with a PC, it generally takes more effort and know-how than plugging in a console and starting a game. With consoles, you don't really have to do anything. With Steam boxes coming out, some of that could change, but I doubt all of it will.
"This is the last real console cycle. I don't mean that Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo will go bankrupt and shut down - they will not. Each of them will make another console" So basically, by saying this is the "last real console cycle" he meant this was in no way the last console cycle. Why do people still listen to this guy?
As for his point about switching to mobile platforms, even as tablets, and even android gaming boxes, get stronger, they still don't have the strength for big AAA gaming. They also don't have the consistent build (what works on one might be broken on another). Perhaps most importantly, the crowd he's talking about, the crowd who would buy CoD on their smartphone but not on a console, tends to be very cheap (hence not wanting to buy a console). Would CoD and FIFA really double their sales if they released at their console game price point on mobile devices? Almost certainly not. Even if they cut their prices in half, which probably still wouldn't be enough to get those sales, selling twice as many copies would yield the same amount of money, making it pointless. Realistically, to be competitive and attract those mobile users, they'd need cut prices to down to less than $15, maybe less than $10, at which point they'd need to sell not double, but quintuple the number of copies sold on consoles to make the same money.
Also, I'd like to point out that the PS3 was to the PS2 what the 3DS is to the DS, and yet the PS4 is moving towards PS2 numbers.
@PlywoodStick According to VGCHartz, Xenogears sold about 1.5 million, and Xenosaga 1 sold about 1.75 million. Xenoblade sold just under 1 million, but was delayed, under-stocked, and heavily pirated.
"However, few would argue that the Wii U has quantity as well as quality" When it comes to exclusives, the Wii U has both quality and quantity. The problem is that exclusives are pretty much all it's getting these days.
It's disappointing that Star Fox is being delayed (though I'd rather they take their time and make it as good as possible), but honestly, I'm more excited about Xenoblade and Woolly World (which isn't out in America yet, and should probably be counted as a holiday release). And while they're not AAA games, Fatal Frame and Devil's Third are on the way too.
As for this holiday, I think Nintendo still has a good chance of doing well. Even though it's already out, Mario Maker is almost guaranteed to be a big Christmas seller, almost certainly a much bigger seller than Star Fox was ever going to be. There's a possibility Splatoon will do well too, despite its age.
Honestly, I think the video could have done a much better job of showing how difficult the journey would be, perhaps by making each "life" a different person, with the previous person still stuck in the problem they lost with.
And while the journey is certainly hard and dangerous, that really isn't relevant to other countries taking them in. While countries should give humanitarian aid when they can, their first priority should be their own people. Taking in tons of refugees is expensive, and comes with the risk of bringing in terrorists disguised as refugees. In this case, the vast majority of the refugees won't know European languages either, which makes it more likely that they'll just stick together, making a Syrian subculture within the European nations. I feel for the real refugees, who really are desperately fleeing the violence in their own nation, with no alterior motives, but I completely understand European countries not inviting, and even blocking, an invasion.
@WaxxyOne It doesn't seem to be working now, but I don't think it's because it sold out. If something sells out, you can usually still see it, but it's not there at all right now. I think Amazon's having some problems or something. They're also telling me it has 6 reviews, but when I click on them, it says they don't exist.
@WaxxyOne It's still showing up as available for me. Try clicking and un-clicking the free shipping button, and/or refreshing the page. Sometimes it shows up and sometimes it doesn't.
Mario's up. Go to "New from..." and click "free shipping". That's the only way it comes up for me. Even though it says at the top of the page "from $12.99" it doesn't show up unless I click free shipping.
I'm still kind of annoyed that Nintendo's basically making a GOTY edition of Hyrule Warriors (as in a complete-with-all-DLC+more package) but only releasing it on the 3DS. I want all of that content, but I want it on the Wii U, and I don't want to pay $100+ for it. Unless I see a particularly good opportunity to buy the Wii U game, or they make the DLC free, I'm probably going to hold off in the hopes of either a Wii U Legend Edition, or an NX Legend Edition.
I don't know if Nintendo had anything to do with it in the past, but they've had units like this where I live for over a decade. When my brother was hospitlaized with appendicitis back in the early 2000's, they rolled in an N64 and TV on a cart. More recently (4-5 years ago), my nephew got a similar cart when he was in the hospital, but with a Wii. For a kid stuck in a hospital bed, it really does a lot to lift their spirits.
I'm definitely interested, because I love the Chibi-Robo franchise, but I wish they would make a new game like the first one, or finally bring over the DS game that only released in Japan (the true sequel to the original).
@Rexx Maybe I missed it, but I didn't see anything hateful. I was assuming you flagged everyone who said homosexuality was wrong. My apologies if I was mistaken.
@luke88 No, I don't, but that doesn't mean there will never be a time when people need to take up arms against a tyrannical government. Regardless of whether that time ever comes, the right to bear arms is guaranteed so that people can protect themselves and their freedom should either come under attack. So no, I don't think we're in immediate danger from the government, but I think the citizenry having the ability to fight back should there be a danger is an important right. As kind of an aside, I doubt the Germans would have thought their government was capable of the horrors the Nazi's committed 10 years before they came to power, either.
And again, guns are frequently used for self-defense, too. Many people have used guns to protect themselves and their loved ones. People use them to hunt, too, of course.
Globally speaking, most other countries don't have the same freedoms as the USA, and most other countries weren't born by escaping tyrannical rule with the citizens' guns.
@PlywoodStick Assault rifles, as in the automatic rifles used in the military, aren't legal to own. The gun many people confuse as an assault rifle, and which is almost certainly what these guys had, the AR-15, is not automatic, and isn't very different from a regular rifle. Many people use them for hunting, and some people just like them better than traditional rifles. Because of its appearance, it has become the go-to example for gun control advocates, but it's just another semi-automatic gun like almost every other gun on the market. It's also worth mentioning that murders with rifles, including AR-15's, make up an incredibly small number of the murders in America. More people are killed with bare hands than rifles.
@luke88 Feel free to tell the people who defended their lives and property with guns how "barmy" it is that they were able to do so. I'd ask you to say the same thing to Holocaust survivors, but they were disarmed before being put into concentration camps, so they weren't able to defend themselves. History has shown us time and time again the danger of being a disarmed populace. It's not some theoretical idea thought up by gun owners.
That's both bizarre and disturbing. At least they got caught. Hopefully the police can get them for more than just possession.
To all the people bashing America and it's gun laws, the 2nd Amendment exists for a reason. If people are unarmed, they're defenseless. We can look to history and see numerous cases of disarmament followed by subjugation, including Hitler, Stalin, and various other regimes. On a more personal level, gun ownership allows you to defend yourself from other individuals, whether they be rapists, terrorists, murderers, or burglars, without relying on someone else to save you.
I'm not at all interested. If they put the DLC on the eshop, I might buy it, because the game was a lot of fun, but there's no way I'm going to buy it again, especially at almost 7 times what I originally paid for it (got it on sale for $6).
I feel sorry for the guy being out of a job, and a great job at that, but as he himself admitted, it was his own fault. I don't blame Nintendo in the least for firing an employee who spoke publicly, sometimes in a negative way, about Nintendo without permission. He didn't have the authority to say what he said.
And you don't need a $300 Japanese 3DS to play Project X Zone. It was released in America.
It is sad, though completely understandable, that this collection isn't coming to the Wii U. It's so awesome it almost makes me want an Xbox One (almost).
I could see a version of SSB that included all of the DLC, and maybe all of the levels from both the Wii U and 3DS games, coming to the NX. It wouldn't be a remake so much as a "Greatest Hits" kind of thing, and it wouldn't be unlike Nintendo's recent decision to do pretty much the same thing with Hyrule Warriors on the 3DS (actually, Hyrule Warriors Ultra on the NX would be pretty cool too).
Aside from such "Ultimate" versions, I'd much prefer if Nintendo looked further back for games to remake. I'm still rooting for Mario Sunshine HD.
And as for Animal Crossing, the only way it will come to the NX early is if it skips the Wii U, or comes to both as one game. If Animal Crossing U came out in the the next two years, as it would have to, it would be too soon to release a new Animal Crossing on the NX in its first year. That said, and as much as I'd love a new Animal Crossing on the Wii U, the idea of Animal Crossing being a launch game for the NX does sound pretty great.
Unless he cheated or something, which would be worthy of revenge like this, it sounds like she was the real problem in the marriage. She's clearly a very spiteful, jealous person. We'll never know what actually went on in their marriage, but her actions represent her, and they don't make her look good.
And what judge in his right mind awarded her the husband's games anyway? How does that make any sense?
I'm probably going to get Shantae, and I might get Trine 1. I have all of the other indies, except for Spin the Bottle. There's also a strong possibility that I'll get Ittle Dew, which is on sale all month.
I'm definitely interested in DQ7, but I'm a little hesitant about DQ8, mainly because it's going to be a visual downgrade from the original version. I might still get it, though. I have it for the PS2, but never got around to finishing its long campaign, and no longer have my PS2 hooked up. The 3DS would certainly be a much more convenient way to play it.
We'll see. If it's coming in 2017, as many believe, its design probably isn't even set yet. I'd be surprised if Nintendo didn't make the NX about as powerful as the PS4, mainly because even at that level consoles can barely push 1080p, which is the next step from the 720p most Wii U games are restricted to. That said, if the NX is a handheld/home console combo, it might make sense for the system to be a bit on the weak side. Even just 720p would be a landmark for dedicated handhelds. If that is the case, though, it may not bode well for the system as a whole, as it would probably be little stronger than the Wii U.
In the end, I'm more interested in what it will do and how it will do it than in how many pixels it can push. 1080p would be great, but gameplay's always most important.
"but it still felt laborious and with all players taking the same approach it quickly felt like an evenly matched tug-of-war, with both teams making little to no progress and settling for stalemate." That's basically why I don't like watching soccer. 90 minutes of playing and you end up with just a few goals. It sounds like Blast Ball at least captured that aspect.
Blast Ball is something I'd play, but only for a short time. It would probably be okay in local multiplayer, but online it would get boring fast, and I generally don't have 3 other people with 3DS's around to play locally. I'm more interested in the main campaign of Federation Force. At first I thought it was awkward and annoying that the next Metroid wasn't going to star Samus, but now I'm genuinely interested in what they'll do without her.
Meanwhile Retro and Next Level have had great experiences with Nintendo, and have never, that I've heard, accused Nintendo of any kind of racism/nationalism. The situation with Project HAMMER is/was unfortunate, but I think this is a case of each side blaming the other when both sides deserve some blame.
@Retro_on_theGo Some of those suits know more about game development than most developers.
"I got to meet Mr. Miyamoto twice. One time he put his hand on my shoulder and I instantly became a better designer – I heard the Zelda theme go off." That's awesome.
I really enjoyed the first Epic Mickey, despite the lack of voice-acting and the bad camera. The personality and design of the game really shined through. I still haven't gotten Epic Mickey 2, but that's mainly because I haven't gotten around to it. I was pretty disappointed that the Wii U version lacked motion controls, and seemed pretty glitchy/laggy, so when I do get it, I'll be getting the Wii version.
Are these problems unique to the Wii U version, or in all versions? If it's just a rough Wii U release, maybe there's still hope for an update to fix the issues. It would be pretty disappointing if this is just how the game is, period. It looks like it had a lot of potential.
"No assets were stolen" Perhaps, but I'm pretty sure drawing a picture of Mario and putting it in your game is still copyright infringement, even if you change the "M" on his hat to an "X". The game sounds pretty interesting, and could be legitimately fun, but they should use their own stuff rather than ripping off Nintendo's.
@Feremiev It doesn't always prioritize local multiplayer in games, but ever since the N64 (the first system with 4 controller ports, I believe) it's been a big part of Nintendo's hardware. A VR headset would fall in the hardware category.
I think VR is cool, but I don't know if I'd want to use it in any significant way. I'd rather not become blind and deaf to the world while I'm playing video games.
@Feremiev When he was talking about the social aspect, he was probably referring to actual socialization. VR could be used for online connectivity, but at the cost of completely cutting you off from those around you while you use it. Nintendo has always promoted local multiplayer, and VR is the complete opposite.
I fully expect this game to be good, even if it's not what fans wanted. I hope the disappointment that it wasn't a true Metroid Prime on the Wii U doesn't hurt it too much, but I don't think Federations will ever fully overcome it.

Re: Talking Point: Star Fox Zero's Delay Could Be The Final Nail In The Wii U's Coffin
@PlywoodStick
According to VGCHartz, Xenogears sold about 1.5 million, and Xenosaga 1 sold about 1.75 million. Xenoblade sold just under 1 million, but was delayed, under-stocked, and heavily pirated.
Re: Talking Point: Star Fox Zero's Delay Could Be The Final Nail In The Wii U's Coffin
"However, few would argue that the Wii U has quantity as well as quality"
When it comes to exclusives, the Wii U has both quality and quantity.
Re: Plight Of Syrian Refugees Highlighted Via The Medium Of Super Mario
Re: More Wave 5 amiibo Pre-Order Sale Windows Confirmed for Amazon in North America
@WaxxyOne
It doesn't seem to be working now, but I don't think it's because it sold out. If something sells out, you can usually still see it, but it's not there at all right now. I think Amazon's having some problems or something. They're also telling me it has 6 reviews, but when I click on them, it says they don't exist.
Re: More Wave 5 amiibo Pre-Order Sale Windows Confirmed for Amazon in North America
@WaxxyOne
It's still showing up as available for me. Try clicking and un-clicking the free shipping button, and/or refreshing the page. Sometimes it shows up and sometimes it doesn't.
Re: More Wave 5 amiibo Pre-Order Sale Windows Confirmed for Amazon in North America
Mario's up. Go to "New from..." and click "free shipping". That's the only way it comes up for me. Even though it says at the top of the page "from $12.99" it doesn't show up unless I click free shipping.
Re: More Wave 5 amiibo Pre-Order Sale Windows Confirmed for Amazon in North America
@SavoirFaire
I think, at least for now, that he's exclusively found in a Wii U Mario Maker bundle from Walmart.
Re: More Wave 5 amiibo Pre-Order Sale Windows Confirmed for Amazon in North America
Just got Olimar a couple minutes early. Click the "New from..." link.
Re: Toon Link Will Reportedly Be Playable in Hyrule Warriors Legends
I'm still kind of annoyed that Nintendo's basically making a GOTY edition of Hyrule Warriors (as in a complete-with-all-DLC+more package) but only releasing it on the 3DS. I want all of that content, but I want it on the Wii U, and I don't want to pay $100+ for it. Unless I see a particularly good opportunity to buy the Wii U game, or they make the DLC free, I'm probably going to hold off in the hopes of either a Wii U Legend Edition, or an NX Legend Edition.
Re: Pikmin 4 is "Very Close to Completion", Though Its Platform is Unclear
That's surprising, and awesome, news, whether it comes to the Wii U or the NX. I'm glad it won't be another 9 year wait for a new Pikmin game.
Re: Nintendo of America Makes Young Boy's Dream Come True as He Meets Reggie Fils-Aime
Re: Chibi-Robo!: Zip Lash Will Support Plenty of amiibo, Genre Given as 'Whipping Platformer'
I'm definitely interested, because I love the Chibi-Robo franchise, but I wish they would make a new game like the first one, or finally bring over the DS game that only released in Japan (the true sequel to the original).
Re: Chieftain Bob Meets Gunman Clive, You Won't Believe What Happens Next
@Ryu_Niiyama
Actually, there are some people who would cry agenda if Peach baked Mario a cake...
Re: Chieftain Bob Meets Gunman Clive, You Won't Believe What Happens Next
@Rexx
Maybe I missed it, but I didn't see anything hateful. I was assuming you flagged everyone who said homosexuality was wrong. My apologies if I was mistaken.
Re: Potential Massacre Averted At Pokémon World Championships
@luke88
No, I don't, but that doesn't mean there will never be a time when people need to take up arms against a tyrannical government.
Re: Potential Massacre Averted At Pokémon World Championships
@PlywoodStick
Assault rifles, as in the automatic rifles used in the military, aren't legal to own.
@luke88
Feel free to tell the people who defended their lives and property with guns how "barmy" it is that they were able to do so. I'd ask you to say the same thing to Holocaust survivors, but they were disarmed before being put into concentration camps, so they weren't able to defend themselves. History has shown us time and time again the danger of being a disarmed populace. It's not some theoretical idea thought up by gun owners.
Re: Potential Massacre Averted At Pokémon World Championships
That's both bizarre and disturbing. At least they got caught. Hopefully the police can get them for more than just possession.
To all the people bashing America and it's gun laws, the 2nd Amendment exists for a reason. If people are unarmed, they're defenseless. We can look to history and see numerous cases of disarmament followed by subjugation, including Hitler, Stalin, and various other regimes. On a more personal level, gun ownership allows you to defend yourself from other individuals, whether they be rapists, terrorists, murderers, or burglars, without relying on someone else to save you.
Re: Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams Director's Cut Getting Physical Release In North America
I'm not at all interested. If they put the DLC on the eshop, I might buy it, because the game was a lot of fun, but there's no way I'm going to buy it again, especially at almost 7 times what I originally paid for it (got it on sale for $6).
Re: Nintendo Announces Another Run of the Splatoon Testfire Demo
Is the Testfire download new, or will the old one still work?
Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Dismissal of Chris Pranger Highlights Issues With Company Culture
Re: Dragon Quest XI 3DS Screens Show Off the Blend of Old and New
Hopefully Square actually brings this one West (still waiting on DQ7 and DQX).
Re: Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty Wii U Screens Remind Us That It's Due This Year
I'm interested, but not enough to pay $30. I'll wait for a good sale.
Re: Soapbox: It's A Tragedy That Rare Replay Isn't On A Nintendo Console
It is sad, though completely understandable, that this collection isn't coming to the Wii U. It's so awesome it almost makes me want an Xbox One (almost).
Re: Editorial: Super Smash Bros. Should be Integral to Nintendo's NX Future
Re: Weirdness: Revenge is a Dish Best Sold on eBay, as This EarthBound Sale Shows
Unless he cheated or something, which would be worthy of revenge like this, it sounds like she was the real problem in the marriage. She's clearly a very spiteful, jealous person. We'll never know what actually went on in their marriage, but her actions represent her, and they don't make her look good.
And what judge in his right mind awarded her the husband's games anyway? How does that make any sense?
Re: Nintendo Download: 9th July (North America)
I'm probably going to get Shantae, and I might get Trine 1. I have all of the other indies, except for Spin the Bottle. There's also a strong possibility that I'll get Ittle Dew, which is on sale all month.
Re: The Square Enix Teases for Dragon Quest 3DS Localisations Ramp Up
I'm definitely interested in DQ7, but I'm a little hesitant about DQ8, mainly because it's going to be a visual downgrade from the original version. I might still get it, though. I have it for the PS2, but never got around to finishing its long campaign, and no longer have my PS2 hooked up. The 3DS would certainly be a much more convenient way to play it.
Re: Rumour: Nintendo NX Won't Be As Powerful As PlayStation 4
Re: Hands On: Blast Ball Brings Crude Button Mashing and is a Poor Advert for Metroid Prime: Federation Force
"but it still felt laborious and with all players taking the same approach it quickly felt like an evenly matched tug-of-war, with both teams making little to no progress and settling for stalemate."
That's basically why I don't like watching soccer.
Re: Project H.A.M.M.E.R. Exposé Reveals Torrid State Of Affairs At Nintendo Software Technology
@Retro_on_theGo
Some of those suits know more about game development than most developers.
Re: Interview: Warren Spector on the State of Nintendo, His Future, and How Epic Mickey Annoyed Core Gamers
"I got to meet Mr. Miyamoto twice. One time he put his hand on my shoulder and I instantly became a better designer – I heard the Zelda theme go off."
That's awesome.
Re: Review: Never Alone (Wii U eShop)
Are these problems unique to the Wii U version, or in all versions? If it's just a rough Wii U release, maybe there's still hope for an update to fix the issues. It would be pretty disappointing if this is just how the game is, period. It looks like it had a lot of potential.
Re: Mario Parody Kill The Plumber Rejected From iOS App Store On Grounds Of Copyright
"No assets were stolen"
Perhaps, but I'm pretty sure drawing a picture of Mario and putting it in your game is still copyright infringement, even if you change the "M" on his hat to an "X". The game sounds pretty interesting, and could be legitimately fun, but they should use their own stuff rather than ripping off Nintendo's.
Re: Square Enix Shuts Down Dragon Quest VII Fan Translation Project
Wait, is it illegal to translate something for free for fun? I thought as long as they weren't distributing copyrighted material, it was fine.
Re: The Current State Of Virtual Reality Just Isn't Fun, Says Nintendo's Reggie Fils-Aime
@Feremiev
It doesn't always prioritize local multiplayer in games, but ever since the N64 (the first system with 4 controller ports, I believe) it's been a big part of Nintendo's hardware. A VR headset would fall in the hardware category.
Re: The Current State Of Virtual Reality Just Isn't Fun, Says Nintendo's Reggie Fils-Aime
I think VR is cool, but I don't know if I'd want to use it in any significant way. I'd rather not become blind and deaf to the world while I'm playing video games.
@Feremiev
When he was talking about the social aspect, he was probably referring to actual socialization. VR could be used for online connectivity, but at the cost of completely cutting you off from those around you while you use it. Nintendo has always promoted local multiplayer, and VR is the complete opposite.
Re: Metroid Prime: Federation Force Producer Explains Why Samus Aran Isn't In The Game
I fully expect this game to be good, even if it's not what fans wanted. I hope the disappointment that it wasn't a true Metroid Prime on the Wii U doesn't hurt it too much, but I don't think Federations will ever fully overcome it.
