Re: Poll: What Did You Think Of The Nintendo Direct, Then?

TheMegaMarshtomp

Everyone is excited about TTYD, but I don't fully understand the appeal. I just recently tried to play through the original Paper Mario and found that the over world travel is extraordinarily slow and the combat breaks down into trading blows with the opponent and hoping they die first. Better than the modern Paper Marios, but not enough strategy for a turn based RPG. I was hoping for something a bit more exciting for a "one last thing".

@sanderev I also love the original, although... I never technically played it...
I absolutely hated the Movie, so I watched a long play to see how it compared. In my opinion, the game far exceeds the movie in a number of ways.
I am VERY excited to see if Detective Pikachu Returns successfully builds on the perplexing ending of the original.

Re: Video: It's Finally Time To Talk About Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom's Ending

@Znake The Dragon part was the only part I found fitting a climactic ending. Sure it wasn't challenging, but it was grandiose.

The rest of the fight felt WAY easier and simpler then the final boss in Twilight Princess. I think Demon King Ganon should of had at least one more phase before giving up and eating his hand... I mean Secret Stone.

I thought Zelda turning back to normal would have had a better effect of there was any explanation for it. Rauru's ghost appears, stares at Link, and suddenly Zelda is falling from the sky. If Rauru had the power of anti-draconification, he should have spoken up earlier!

Re: TOTK Director Is Extremely Vague On Game's Placement In Zelda Timeline

TheMegaMarshtomp

I had high hopes that Fugibayashi would be able to "complete" the Zelda timeline with TotK, given that he pretty much created it with Skyward Sword. Unfortunately, it seems he was never planning on tying those games together.

Also, contrary to Hyrule Historia and popular belief, Four Swords Adventures does NOT take place after Twilight Princess. Where it does take place is up for debate, but I really liked FIXING The ZELDA TIMELINE by Zelda Lore. Part One explains the timeline, and Part Two fits TotK into it.
