Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Game Updates and DLC Are Fantastic, Albeit Starved of Attention

TheAceofMystery

Here's my opinion,

Mario Kart 8 DLC: I loved it, the pricing was cheap for 7 Characters and 16 courses. But it seems there isn't much more to come. I would love Captain Falcon, Kirby, Birdo, Bowser Jr. , Diddy Kong, and King Boo. And for courses, I would love Waluigi Pinabll, Airship Fortress, Maka Wuhu, and many more.

Smash Bros. DLC: It's a popular opinion that it's too pricey, but I'm alright with it. A lot more work and time go into smash characters than MK8 Characters, since there's moves, uniqueness, and balancing. And stages are 2$ a piece unless you have both versions which is a great deal (coming from a guy with both versions.) As for the Mii Costumes, the pricing is good if you buy the bundles(which I have), not a good idea to buy them individually. I have bought Collection 1, 2, and 3 for both versions, which seems very pricey, but considering the time that goes into this DLC, I am happy with my purchase.

Splatoon DLC/Update/On-Disc Content: IT'S A GREAT IDEA, it has definitely kept the game fresh for me, although I wish Splat Zones was at launch, but it only took 3 days. Other than that, I've been going back to the game every day to check out the new content and play with some friends, and with the update tomorrow, it will feel like a complete game. If you want to hear why Splatoon's method is a good idea, go watch SomeCallMeJohnny's video about it. Anyways, the content roll out strategy of Splatoon is a good idea, it keeps the game fresh and gives people something to look forward to every week.

Hyrule Warriors DLC: I think this is the best one out of them all, for 20$ you get a ton of new characters, new story segments, new modes, and extra adventure maps which add in almost a hundred ours of new content. The costumes, characters, modes, adventure maps, and story segments, hundreds of hours of content, for 20$. Not a bad idea IMO.

Overall you can probably say that I'm trying to defend Nintendo, but honestly they handle DLC way better than other companies. It's those games fresh. Hopefully there's more to come for all of them!

Re: Nintendo Download: 16th July (Europe)

TheAceofMystery

Why does NA still only have SMG2, Metroid Prime Trilogy, and Punch Out? I thought we were going to get more wii titles xD.

Also who is NoE's president? We never hear from him Unlike Reggie and Iwata, because NoE's president is doing a good job on VC releases in his country

Re: Nintendo President Satoru Iwata Passes Away Aged 55

TheAceofMystery

Rest in piece Mr. Iwata San. Everyone who sees this, before you put your device down, and go play some video games to remember Iwata, read this please. Satoru Iwata was one of the most inspirational people in my life. He knows what it means to be a gamer. He inspired me to want to be a game programmer. As he always said, gaming is supposed to be fun, and supposed to be for everyone. Not teenage/adult men. Gaming is meant for Males ages 1-Infinity and Females ages 1-Infinity. No matter how old you are, you can be a gamer. For the next few days or even weeks, we should put aside the console wars(Even though I don't partake in that.) I think the Gaming Industry should come together and mourn the loss of Satoru Iwata. He changed the industry in more ways than one. The inventor of dual screen and motion controls. He also seemed like a gentle person who wouldn't hurt a fly. He worked hard for Nintendo, his friends, his fans, and most importantly, his family. To die at 55 is such a shame. He left behind a great legacy. Though it's sad that the last thing he heard from his fans were complaints about the Digital Event. I never complained about it, but I wouldn't feel sorry if I did complain about it. It's your opinion, but still, so sad that the last of his public statements was an apology for the Digital Event. He shaped my childhood. His words went "Directly" to my heart and meant something special to me. Alright that's it, I'm done. Mr. Iwata, rest easy and wait for us in the afterlife, Tell the Yamauchi's hello for all of us. And to all the gamers out there, don't forget, video games are for fun, not story-telling movies. Video games are full of life and color, not gritty, gray and brown. And most importantly, Game On . Rest In Peace Satoru Iwata. (1959-2015)

Re: Reggie Fils-Aime Asks for Fan Trust With Metroid Prime: Federation Force

TheAceofMystery

I don't even feel bad for hardcore metroid fans since they act like crying children. Mother fans have been waiting for a new installment, but they know it won't happen anytime soon, and they have accepted that. F-Zero fans haven't had a game in over 10 years, and we feel fine, since Shigeru Miyamoto said that there is a good chance F Zero will return on the new console. On the other hand Metroid Fans had a game 5 years ago, which was decent, but most people like to ignore the most important part of that game which is gameplay, they only don't like it because of the story. I like Metroid, but I'm not going to go create a petition trying to cancel Federation Force. Sure it's not what I wanted, but it looks very fun in my opinion, Reggie and Next Level have my full trust in this game. I don't know a game in recent memory created by Next Level that has dissapointed me. I feel way more sorry for Mother and F-Zero fans, but I don't see them complaining or trying to cancel F Zero in Mario Kart, or the Fan Made Mother 4. Just because Mother 4 isn't made by Itoi, doesn't mean it won't be good. Itoi even said himself that he wants the next Mother to be made by someone else. And we were also patient for the official localization of Mother 1, wasn't it 26 years ago? Anyways they have already confirmed that there is a good chance that Metroid will be on the NX, Metroid fans just need to learn to be patient.

Re: Nintendo's E3 'Roadmap' Infographic Shows Off Upcoming Releases on Wii U and 3DS

TheAceofMystery

I'll cut Nintendo some slack since me and a lot of other people were expecting to drop the big bombs like a new F Zero and Mother 3. I'm a bit dissapointed though. We did get Metroid and Animal Crossing, but in a different way. The metroid one looks interesting though. MARIO AND LUIGI: PAPER JAM LOOKS SICK DAY ONE FOR ME. The Legend Of Zelda: Triforce Heroes looks cool, I remember playing Four Swords with my brother and cousins back when I was around 8 (Which now, I am 15). I love Mario Tennis, so I'm glad we are getting another one. Star Fox looks amazing! Yoshi's Wooly World and Xenoblade X were alright but it's been 3 years in a row now. Super Mario Maker looks awesome too. And the new fire emblem games were good too. Also that 8 bit Mario Amiibo looks awesome. I'm not sure how I feel about The Animal Crossing Spin Offs, AND I'M GLAD THAT WE ARE FINALLY GETTING YO KAI WATCH. A couple more things, I'm going to get the new Bowser and DK figures, but use them as Amiibo. Hyrule Warriors Legends was leaked out, and it's a port so I don't care. There was no new I.P or new Smash, MK8. or Splatoon DLC. I think I covered everything. Overall I give it a 55 out of 100. The only games that really dissapoint me are the Animal Crossing Spin Offs, Yoshi's Wooly World (I'm excited for it but we have seen it sooooooo many times) and same with XCX. OH AND I FORGOT RETRO DIDN'T SHOW OFF THEIR GAME, hopefully soon though.

Re: Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice Is Dashing To The Nintendo 3DS This Winter

TheAceofMystery

Man a lot of people aren't even giving this game a chance. The Wii U version was terrible, HOWEVER, if you actually played the 3DS version, it was really fun. It was a mixture between Metroid, and a classic 2D sonic game. I'll only reply to people who actually played both sonic booms if they want to criticize my opinion, but the people who haven't touched one, just don't reply
